Uh, finally an awesome YT channel about oils. I follow you from Europe. Amazon oils are made by Warren Distribution blenders and they should not be bad at all, and on our side it is the British Comma Oil. I'm in Central Europe, but I can tell you that we also rarely use 0w40 viscosity and that ACEA A3/B4 is outdated. For us, the standards related to MidSaps and LowSaps oils are important, and API is only the beginning, because the oils for our vehicles must also have additional factory approval, for a long time the strongest standard was VW 504/507, which is 'earned' on very difficult tests, and now it's Vw 508/509 and it exceeds all API and Ilsac GF standards in terms of strength. My situation is even more complicated because I drive a bifuel converted car to LPG (propane in yours, it seems to me) and I use SAE 5W40 with Approval vw 502/505.01 and ACEA C3, midSaps. Everything is complicated in Europe😅 (have also for eg PSA or MB mercedes approval etc). Greetings from O&G production engineer and tribologist. I watch every video, excellent, keep posting, respect for your work👍

As a mechanic based in western europe, i watch a lot of oil video's on youtube. And what i find is that in the usa they have most grades in mineral and synthetic. Where here in the netherlands, it starts at 10w40 almost always being semi synthetic and up from there its verry hard to find a non fully synthetic. I once found 5w30 valvoline at action that didnt say anything on the bottle. But other than that all 5w30s are synthetic here. And i also found that most my customers Just always want the right oil in ther cars. Big difference than the usa where it seems you bring your branc New car to a lube shop and they happy put a random mineral oil in it. If someone asks that of me i Will send them away.

@@franklinvanproosdijyou’re a bit misinformed about what happens in the US. Most new cars go to the dealer for the recommended oil. Only the cheapskates who don’t care about their used cars to to the quick lube places. Every one else goes to Indy mechanics or changes it themselves. The only cars that get conventional oil are the ones that call for it. People mostly use good brands like Mobil 1, Castrol, Pennzoil, etc. Some even use Liqui Moly, Motul, etc which are much more expensive here because they are imported.

@@seashackf1I used to work at two quick lubes way back when. I was in school and I can tell you never under any circumstances take your car to one. Not so much because of the oil but because of the countless times I saw cars being started with no oil in them. At the one the employees would put the cheap stuff in when people paid for the good stuff so they could set it aside and take it home for themselves.

Any great "full" synthetic motor oil is good. I use Liqui Moly specific viscosity oils in my 2023 Lexus hybrid and 2019 Volvo. No issues and it's just a matter of me and the two specific vehicle mechanics agreeing on using Liqui Moly and OEM oil filters for those vehicles. The choice is yours and remember to change your oil & filter every 5,000 miles or six-months, whichever comes first. Why, because like Scotty Kilmer and The Car Care Nut (YT) say, oil & filters are cheap, engines are expensive. 🤔

Touching on the LSPI issue, it should be noted that the ACEA have two categories specifically for such engines; A7/B7 (mid-HTHS, high-SAPS) and C6 (low-HTHS, mid-SAPS). A3/B4 is typically used in older engines without three-way catalysts and/or DPF/GPF in Europe which require a high-HTHS, high-SAPS oil, and these engines are typically of older designs at least 10-15 years old here in Europe. Virtually all of these engines are also port injection (although A3/B4, unlike the now obsolete A3/B3, is also designed for direct injection diesel engines), because they are of older design, and therefore LSPI is not a concern for these engines.

With that much Calcium, it should be a good cleaner and naturally aspirated GDI engines should be fine with it since they don't suffer from LSPI. Turbocharged engines not so much, though.
This oil would be a perfect choice for a Porsche 911 from the 964, 993 or 996 family as well as older Mercedes like the W124 gasoline models. Or BMW up to the E46.

Different oils won't change your coolant temp by any appreciable amount. Fuel pressure to a carb has no effect on the mixture as long as it's high enough to keep the bowls full and low enough to not overwhelm the needles.

LSPI can happen to any DI engine. The tendency and severity is due primarily to the injector location. Also, the higher ZDDP levels help reduce LSPI tendency.

Yes we tend to get more TBN, more detergents and more ZDDP generallly I mean for example yeah 1200ppm ZDDP and 3500 calcium is normal here that's special elsewhere.
Those higher numbers are because of the ACEA and car manufacturers spec oils going by ridiculous OCIs nobody should live by.

The American - Eu and International oil ratings are pretty much the same. All three work together so as to hold a basic standard. The EU rating is a bit more demanding due to the strick emissions control. The API/SAE is pretty much the standard for all vehicles around the world.
