A simple pleasure in life like a great cookout in the woods is something easily taken for granted and never experienced by many due to the hustle and bustle of busy lives. Thanks for the reminder to slow down and enjoy the things that make us happy!
Thanks Simon. This is so true. It really is a magical thing that most people neglect and miss out on
Next time I catch a Brookie, I'm trying that! Now I really can't wait for ice fishing season. Honey and Garlic...yum! One reason we like your channel so much is because you do enjoy life, the outdoors and because you do seem to be a good, kind appreciative person. Have a great day.
Tks sally. You’re much to kind with your beautiful words. Which, in turn, shows you are a very good person yourself. Have a great day my friend
You reep what you sew ! Excellent video Chuck.
True words colbie. Thanks buddy
That's a first for me. Looks great. I am a firm believer that if you give off good energy then good energy will come back to you. The return of little things like honey & jam is proof of good karma. Have a great day.
Thanks Reginald buddy. True words.
OK, Now I'm hungry. LOL Greetings again from the Adirondacks! I think a lot of people live these adventures through you and your videos because their time, location, or maybe condition doesn't allow them to. Its a gift that you give to them , every time they watch that maybe you dont even realize. I know I watch all of your videos, and I have the similar outdoors right here I know that take for granted all to often. Simply because they are great videos. Until the next one,Chuck, peace. :)
Thanks for your very kind words my friend. I appreciate you tuning in 👍
That grin says it all. Mmmmm goood!!!
Haha. It’s hard to wipe it off my face (the grin AND the spilled honey lol). I enjoy it very very much 👍. Tks victor buddy
Hi Chuck, with all those coniferous trees you should have lots of fatwood there. I just started harvesting it myself. Your fish looks yummy!
There are definitely a lot of good people out there Chuck, and you're definitely one of them. My wife and I always look forward to watching you videos have been watching them for years now
Thanks tucker buddy. I appreciate your good words. I love to associate with good people. Leaves you feeling positive

Just a simple little trip in the nature. Nothing better than that.
You’re right pat buddy. Tks for tuning in. Say hi to Andrea as well my friend
Man if that tasted half as good as it looked it must've been amazing... you said it in the video..., very often simple is best.... thanks for sharing
I love the simple, practical things in life. Gives me joy. Thanks buddy
Awesome buddy catch and cook got to love it. take care and enjoy your week
Chuck, I would’ve enjoyed your speech better if I could have stopped drooling 😂😂! Great job! Dave🇨🇦
Haha!! See you guys in a couple days!! We look forward to meeting you!
Hey Chuck. An alder is good for something. Really good video. You have made me so hungry. God bless
Haha. Yes but that’s one of the very few things they are actually any good for lol. I think I’d use something else if the option was to never see an alder again!! Ha
How true. I would do the same. I hate how fast they grow. I've heard they keep growing throughout the winter. You just can't win against them. Lol
Thanks Chuck - had breakfast with ya buddy - not a trout but good - enjoyed so much your little talk today and so so true - actually I believe that doing good makes you feel better than receiving good if that makes any sense- anyway I know you know what I mean - thanks again Chuck and take care.
Thanks buddy. Always rewarding to take a simple day every now and then 👍
Nice video. Thanks. God Bless you and your family.
Tks Robert my friend.

You son of a gun Chuck....you just had my mouth watering and my blood sugar was up 5 points😂...that looked so good...great video partner...love watching you eat haha...take care
Ha. I actually had to cut out a bunch of clips as I actually look (and sound) ridiculous when enjoying food lol. But then again, it’s me I guess so I have to show what’s real. Tks for tuning in bud 👍
Wicked video love them keep them coming 👍
I have had many meals of trout but I have yet to cook them over an open fire. That looked so delicious and you enjoyed it so much... you had to be doing something illegal... Lol. Looks like I have to put cooking a trout on an open fire in my to-do list. Cheers and so nice to watch you enjoying yourself with the simple things in life.
Ha. Hoping that I was staying above the law as much as possible 😂
You had me at steak spice
The people from beautiful Montreal got it right my friend. Tks bud. Hope your getting tucked away up there
Howdy Chuck!! Awesome video and here’s a fun fact for you : that maple syrup is actually from my grandpa!! It was quite the surprise to see it on screen so I thought I’d just share this message with you!! 🍁🍁🤝🤝
WOW!!! Are you serious!!!! WHat a small world!! Someone else messaged me as well and said they lived close to these fine folks and buy their syrup as well. That's simply amazing. Glad youre tuning in my friend!

@ChuckPorterEverythingOutdoors So love your videos and the country in your neck of the woods. I have fished in different places on the island, but never in Labrador, maybe some day. I'm from Paradise.
Keep them awesome videos coming.
God Bless
Stay safe
Fred
Now that looks tasty.
Delicious tony. Something that has to be experienced to be appreciated properly. Tks bud.
Dang that looks awesome! Will have to try honey on fish! Thanks for being so genuine chuck. As always, great video!
Puts the most pleasant sparkle to the fish buddy. 👍
Looks delicious! I know a lot of ppl do the same for bear baiting! Lol (Honey burn)
Ever have a bear get close to you while cooking in the bush like that?
Yes I’ve had bears come up to me while fishing, hunting etc many many times. It doesn’t bother me in the least. They just come around and do their thing, never posing any harm to me. They’re just doing exactly what they are supposed to be doing….looking for a meal (just like the mink)
Great video as always, you made me hungry ! On the fat wood part I to dont have any luck finding fat wood but what I do is collect resin from pine trees and take some tiny kindling, sticks or wood shavings then melt to a boil the resin and dunk the wood in it leave it a little to soak and then take it out to dry and then put them in a back. They are natural matches when you throw a spark on them.
I’d love to look for some if I was ever in the right area. Like chaga, I’m sure when you get used to spotting it, it would come easier
@@ChuckPorterEverythingOutdoors I've been told all resin trees have it and to look at old broken branches and tree stumps on logging lots or broken tree log because the resin accumulates in the bottom when the tree dies. Good luck 👍
Thanks again for another great video from a great guy! Keep doing what you love buddy.
Thanks steph. Appreciate your kind words my friend
Great video buddy looks awesome nice feed
Thanks Andrew buddy.
Thank you.
Hey Chuck! What will you guys ever do without fishing season being on. Lol. You know, that sure looked tasty. A meal fit for a king. Alder wood, when dry, makes the hottest fire. Dangerously hot. I figured a bear would’ve come out around with the smell of burnt honey. Best attractant for bears.
My son and I have burned honey. In fact; the very first time I even knew that was a thing was when a warden from Antigonish told me he used it on his bear bait. I dunno tho, I think I’d have most of the honey devoured before it made it to the burner 😂
What a great way to start my day with a great video. Appreciate your time and effort to make these videos. Keep it up!!!!
You’re welcome Clayton buddy
Awesome buddy really enjoy your videos
Thanks Todd buddy
Like KFC Chuck... Finger Licking Good!!. Enjoy the small luxuries.
Absolutely Doug. I love it like I’m sure you do 👍👍
Hey Buddy. I do something similar with lake trout over the fire. It's my wife's favorite way to eat trout (and I get to score brownie points at the same time). Great eating and a happy wife lol!
Haha!! Yes sir!!! Now that’s a win win situation for sure!!😂👍
That looks so delicious!! I was laughing at the Maple syrup cause I buy the exact same stuff cause I live where its made and know the Hopkins. They sell it every weekend at our local farmers market. I also buy the local honey, beef, and vegetables as well. Cause eating local from this area tastes delicious! But I will have to try honey on fish which I've never thought of doing before for some reason.
Wow!! Small world hey Darren!! We had some yesterday on our toutons (fried bread dough). Delicious!! Say hello to them the next time you see them. 👏👍
Nice Video 👍🇩🇪
Tks Michael
Glad you could enjoy the day and the fish but you still have to share with Melanie.
Question have you ever had to put an edge on your Mora knife ? I do lots of different things with mine and it still seems fairly sharp.
Should I use a stone or would a draw sharpener work as well just wondering on your thoughts
Take care and Thks for the video
Ian
Hello my honey provider!!! 🍯 lol. I use a stone mainly on my mora knives however, I certainly have cheated on the draw down types as well. The edge stays on the mora pretty long as I’m guessing it’s good steel, and thick steel at that. I have about 3 of them and “abuse” them quite hard. But they seem to stand the test of time.
Thanks again for the honey (and other yummies). I’m just literally sitting back with a cup of tea with honey in it as I answer a few comments 👍
Man that looks like some good fish. Those minks do something crazy when they cross the road they walk with their rear end up in the air walking on their front legs, very odd to see.
Squirrels also. Not sure why but does look cute
I see you like to cook with the cast iron skillet using butter (always butter, not margine - I agree).
I likes to cook me fish in lard (Tenderflake preferably) - 3 blocks on the skillet. Why? Because when I am finished cooking, I set aside the pan and when she cools have retained most of the lard (still relatively white) - to be scooped up with a wooden spoon to be used at a later time - hmm hmmm good!
It's been a long time since I've done it looks great have you tried smoked cod fish with maple syrup the best ever got2b fresh out of the smoker see you on the next video be good stay safe
I’ve never tried smoked codfish. I’ve tried smoking pike but didn’t like that too much (although I cook pike exactly the way I’d cook cod and love it)
Fishy, fishy in the brook, you be the captain and I'll be the cook. Enjoy the flats bye.
Haha - you're a poet and don't know it Tom (or maybe you do!) LOL
Chuck, do you have a preseason check list for your sled?
Yes my friend. Here is the video: SERVICING & GEARING UP my SKANDIC 900 Ace SUPER WIDE TRACK -SIX MONTHS OF WINTER! (Labrador, Canada)
ua-cam.com/video/Nhjs-g4BUhE/v-deo.html
Looked great. Next time bring canned beans buddy.
Yes sir norm. I think I was taking a gamble that day as I never had any backup plan at all (beans, bread, etc)
Gods country for sure .
Why? Because you can!
That wasn't tasty, I knows!
Cheers buddy!
Haha. Yes sir!! Best kind!! 😂😂
Чак привет.Как жизнь?
Good my friend. Hope you are doing well 👍
You can’t get any freasher then that
Has that much of a better taste when it’s straight out of the water. Much richer
I gotta be honest that doesn't look good to me. I wrecked a lake trout cooking it over spruce flames, got too much soot on it. Ever since that I'm gonna be a pan guy for life. I enjoyed the video nonetheless!
Haha. Well at least you’re honest about it. Delicious in the pan and is also how I cook most of mine. Patience cooking over the open fire wins it for me. Gotta be on a day like I had there where it was beautiful and I was in no rush at all
@@ChuckPorterEverythingOutdoors aha, I'm pretty sure I everything wrong that day. Resinous wood, didn't let the fire burn down enough, cooked it too low and fast. Good to know, I might forget my pan someday.
