Thats a really sweet little bike! I can relate to all the finger fkery you have to go through to get these little motors to run mint. They have been playing with me sense I was a little kid and I am 65 now and they still won't go away! I always use a fender but I make mine out of 16 gauge metal and weld them to the frame works Mint! After break in run 100 octane fuel with Blendsall (green label) 2 stroke racing oil. Smells like Heaven! The aroma is amazing! It will make the whole neighborhood smell like a 4 of July barbecue down by the river! The best part about these motors is the Zero Carbon FootPrint! Its keeps a smile on Greta's face! I cant wait to see how this bike runs after You get it jetted in! Keep up the great vidjas and never worry aboot the load Music or Carbon FootPrint!💯👍
Great vid bud. Yeah, we all made mistakes putting these things together. When you get her tuned proper your clutch is going to be slippin all over the place. I would recommend DLH SAF-Clutch or you can make a similar budget clutch.
I’m close to end of vid, but it’s def sounding better. Definitely needs to be tuned out but it sounds far so worse thing that could happen is marking the plug all carbon up so I say just enjoy it until your ready to tune it in warmer weather. Thanks for posting.
@@ColdStartGarage agreed, I’m postponing a lot of my outside work as well cause it just sucks being out there when it’s this cold even though I enjoy tinkering my older bone and joints just disagree with my mind. lol.
Sounds a lot better now that you fixed your mistake I use ultra gray on my lower gasket because I had to take mine apart and on your exhaust gasket I use the red high heat silicone but I seen online they sell metal covered ones on Amazon when mine starts leaking I'll change it on mine as well ride safe brother
@@ColdStartGarage brother I'm a licensed electrician by trade you don't think I made some mistakes the thing is you found it and fixed it were learning lol
Probably could put a spacer between the wheel and frame! Couple of little things you learn on the journey. Have fun and just keep playing on. Thanks Ray
I did not jet it yet. Fixed my current mistakes and we caught a nasty cold spell then decided to rain for a week straight. I can’t catch a break with the weather. But I have some shed videos I can do
Hand tighten the wingnut first make sure the notch aligns with the screw hole then pull the clutch and turn it the notch two to three more times and it’ll be plenty tight
I'm surprised at how rich it's running during 1/8-1/4 throttle cruise with that microscopic stock .010" pilot jet in such cold temps. Going to a smaller pilot jet is not really an option so dropping the needle one clip position to #2 will have to suffice. That with a 120-150 range main jet should be the Golds🥇.
I was almost thinking similar issues. With less knowledge. I knew it was fat at the bottom end and she bogged down at full rpm. I was gonna adjust the clip and throw some fat main jet at it. But the china makuni is infamous due to their poor tune-ability
It’s a minarelli you will need a spacer a rod and a piston I believe. The pipe and carb is specific as well. I have a complete build video in minarelli sagas California motorbikes sell just the minarelli motor, not a kit
With the silencer it will give back a little more power Rpm.. example a pick up when there is no longer enough restriction (muffler too short or too big for nothing) the pick up will make noise rpm goes up Faster BUT when you go up a hill you'll have a hard time making it go up in speed but the rpm will be high BUT won't be any worse either
@@ColdStartGarage i should have the website up by the end of the day i don’t remember what i charged for the pads and plate bundle but i think it was $45 shipped
Lot of variables. It very well could be. The nasty air leaks prevented me from tuning. Then winter stopped me in my tracks. I’ll get back around to it as soon as the birds are flying again
Cuts out at 3/4 to full throttle. It’s a China clone makuni. I guess they are hard to tune in.. I haven’t had time to fiddle with it this year yet. My motorcycle project has been robbing time from me 🤘🏻🏁🏁🏁

Such a simple idea. And yet I never reasoned it. It’s deff worth a try. Thanks ray
now you're cookin' i couldn't remember what that term was[squish gap] but that could have kept the motor from running without the choke
4:04 any more then 3 is playin with it 😂😂

Do you find a good jetting for your vm20 carb I know you run whit 44 gear the top end coming soon do you try 28 !!!

I did buy jets. It’s just too much to mess around in this bad weather. I did not do anything with any gears
Thank you man I watch you video good job 👍
I have a same engine porting and my shim gasket fit deferent of yours it’s possible put gaskets whit ultra grey for absolutely seal what you think 🤔
Kinda what I did isn’t it? Or I’m not understanding the full intent of your question. 🥲🏁🏁🏁
Tip for you go to autozone and get a 2002 Toyota Highlander o2 sensor gasket there metal better for the exhaust
It could be a combination of not enough load from the 44sprocket and too rich try going to the top of the needle clip
Something else to think about now. Dang it
@@ColdStartGarage all good brotha. There no rules to these bikes aside from engine specs
@@justanothermotorizedbikech5138 The engines limitations is what we adjust to.

I would recommend the one with the button because it has more movement when it's pushed in so the clutch disengages more! (I would say so)

shake it 3 times, after that you're playing!

Won't it be great to show the world that the China Mikuni will run like EFI when you're done with it?

does that clutch have a set screw?
Yes

The kind of clutch pads your using are the best and a saf budget clutch is the best and cheapest
Air gets denser when its cold out. Meaning your jetting needs to be changed.
i would try a 102 jet
105 102. And raise the needle one clip
I talk about that in my 3 video. It does happen

Delete the spacer gaskets with ultra grey permatex or even yamabond
