Saved from the Boxes Released to the Streets! I started this video in 2023 as a series. Everything was torn off the frame by the previous owner and broken down. I had all the pleasure of reassembling it from the boxes. Boy oh Boy was it a journey! I had to stop the multi-part videos. The views did not justify the amount of time it took to edit the progress. but I cant leave the project open end...

Head VS Head motor-bicycle kit. zeda 80cc 2 stroke.Which head runs hotter?
The studs >>>> mine go in finger tight until they bottom out. So, how much tighter should they be turned if any? It's the height I'm sweating, and all 4 being the same like they are just finger tight. Btw, is this what red loctite is for? Oh, and the only way to tighten the studs any further must be done with a nut, and then I would have to hope it can be removed with vice grips. Hard to believe that it would be done that way, but I'm still asking.
Studs on what? Gas tank? Or head/cylinder studs ?
I don’t recommend using red loctite on cylinder studs or them cheap acorn nuts. The fuel tank you have to creep up on the proper tightness. Which I have a not original idea on my next fuel tank install. I’d have to make that video form.
@@ColdStartGarage The studs that screw into the bottom of the engine. Yours were already seated, and mine aren't. They're also BLACK, cuz, I got the ULTRA kit. Didn't you say you got the ULTRA, but just the engine? Yeah, the studs are a problem for me due to asking myself, if and how much they need to be seated. Why wouldn't I use red loctite on them? I mean, they're never going to come back out, and hardened studs RARELY strip at the top. I'm using the loctite on the universal adapter I picked up as well. I can always use the remover they sell to dissolve, and then clean so I can use it again.
Ah ya. I jammed two nuts together and Ran the studs in until tight. I used red loctite. A torch will break em free if I ever need em too
Bummer you had to get plumbers tape. There sure are alotta brackets that came with my kit, but they aren't seperated, so, I have to just guess with most of it. Mof, I'm finding myself using nuts & bolts for new fangled ways i'm thinking up, and it's due to the CNC parts I have in place of the hardware the kit came with. The universal CNC engine mounts >>>> i'm seeing now that both ends might take them, not just the front >>>> but a video of someone pulling it off is non-existent. 🤪 Just take off about .32" on one side of the 'base' bolts, and WALLAH!!! . . . or so I think. I'll know soon enough when I set my engine. Even so, i'm doing my tank like you did yours with the silicone. I just hope I don't have to come up with any additional brackets to bolt it down. If I break, or screw something up, my local Ace doesn't have anything that matches what this kit came with >>>> nor does NAPA Auto parts. All of it is specialty parts in my little town of 7000. Btw, I just received my EC from CMB, and, I bought a FMF TurbineCore 2 Aresstor for $110. I couldn't pass on that price. 😊 I just hope I can get it to attach without it looking all weird. It bolts on with about a 45 degree angle on the pipe. I figure it's perfect cuz I plan on putting steel saddle bags on the back. Question: What about one of those old school generators that spin as it rides on the tire >>>> how many mph do you think it can take before frying? Up to 35 mph 'at night' would be all the speed I figure would be done [approached], so, i'm wondering about it. There sure are some very nice NOS Sears lights out there that would look mighty SHARP on a MB. 👍
Plumber tape was mostly for vibration and clamping friction. If you never built a bike before. Don’t over tighten the gas tank. The welds will fail and you will have a nasty leak. I would not add anything to your bike that will rob HP. Like generators of any such. Unless you don’t mind the sacrifice. They do have quick rechargeable headlight for bicycles, they don’t look as cool. But they are very functional and practical.
@ColdStartGarage So, about the generator, you don't know either, eh! 🤠 Hey, not even the makers of the old lights have this info >>>> I have been diligently looking for over a week now, nothing! They sure are NICE, 'today'.. 👍 I think I'll try and find a used one, and see what happens before I spend the $90 on a NOS one. I'm very curious about this. Btw, I went to Walmart yesterday to get some 2 stroke oil, and the damn thing burnt my hand when I picked it up >>>> $12 pt. >>>>>> are they NUTZ, or just pushing an AGENDA? 🤔 I then went to Autozone, $6.qt. I would say, an AGENDA! Oh yeah, I live in California 🤮
Thx for showing me how to your the beast
Been sitting since then. I still have it. Have not had the drive or the funds to get it going…..Yet
I know I'm commenting on the wrong thread but you had a comment on what type of helmet to wear when riding a motorized bike. I'm stubborn old School so at one time I hated helmet Law's. Now not so much so. I found FWIW motorcycle helmets on marketplace are in the range from $20 to expensive so. I'm sure a motorcycle helmet would be best.
I bought an open face retro style. It’s a bit lame. But these machines are not suppose to go over 12-15 mph. I feel like they try to kill me. So I dress for the worse case scenarios.
I believe anything is better than nothing. But while riding a bike without a motor crashes tend to happen from a car crashing into you. Being we push 40mph on these. And a bunch of China parts holding them together. Dot for me. Just to keep my brains in my skull
@@ColdStartGarage Just thought I'd share that. I priced bicycle helmets at Walmart and they were more expensive than a motorcycle helmet on marketplace. Of course it's used and probably needs de loused. Lol
Hey buddy that outboard 2 stroke oil isn't designed for high rpm motors.
So I’ve been told. I do appreciate you looking out for my machines 🤘🏻🏁🏁🏁
Side note. This machine was stolen out of my driveway couple years ago. Sad days
Motorized bicycling is really fun hobby. Be safe out there guys and smile enjoy the little things.
Avenger85... looking forward to seeing You put it together.
Cool beans brother I have a avenger your going to like it
Sound good but a high idle for my taste. I prefer a slow slumber type idle but a lot of people like to see them idle at 2-3k hard like
I tuned it down in my full form content
you adjustet the timing with removing one shim
Ya I discovered that. Thanks for your insight anyways! 🤘🏻🏁
Isnt 2 stroke oil 2 stroke all who cares marine or not never hurt my 2 strokes
I get roasted by the people on the internet about using marine grade. They say it’s because marine grade is water cooled. I say the only differences is marine grade is for the fishes 🤣
I just received sharp motor mounts from Bike Berry, and they are much BIGGER than I thought >>>> they look machined. 🧐 Very nice, if they fit on my Switz/Wildcat. 😰 🇺🇸
Got a link? Coldstart83@gmail
I just purchased this motor this morning from California Motor Bikes >>>>> $331 out the door for the kit. I'm going to go with tge stock exhaust first to see if it can handle the hills where I live, and if not i'll get an expansion chamber. Switz Cruiser 26", that's what i'm putting the motor on when they both arrive sometime this next week. The coaster brake on this bike, I haven't seen one yet tgat had to be modified for the sprocket, so i'm hoping mine will have enough clearance. 25-30 mph, that would be plenty fast enough for me. It's the hills that I need the power for. Btw, has anyone used the aluminum intake fitting from Bike Berry? I'm wondering if this motor has any kind of intake leaking issues. Thanx
Put your base spacer on correctly. I have 3 videos on this. Part 1 is complete build part 2 is refinements and fixing mistakes part 3 is rejet of makuni carb
I have all the links to what I bought on my full assembly build. If you are interested in just seeing my set up.
@@ColdStartGarage Yeah, I saw that spacer mistake you made >>> a handy video 🤣 I still have to learn about this kit we both own, and what can or cannot be upgraded on it. The head >>>> other than the stock one in the kit, they offer a round one (you have) for better cooling, or another square one that's 2 lbs. heavier >>>>> I have no idea what the difference in the two are. Then there's the Magneto & Carb >>> are there better ones than the kit offers? Thamx
@ if you are a rider of these machines. You should hone the cylinder and upgrade the cooling. The Minarelli clones are known to heat seize. Mind your break in properly
Facebook forums on these minarelli are information gold. Keep that in mind
for spray bomb it turned out pretty ok!
First time with a serious approach to rattle can. It can be done… even if it’s not ideal! 🤣
That bike came out super nice. Major leaps & bounds from it's origin 💯.
Was no good in boxes.. and pretty terrible without brakes and proper charging circuit
That paint still looks great! Nice job on the bike!👍
Just finishing up old video projects. Thanks for the watch!
Why does everybody keep spinning all that money and putting it on a crap frame.
Spent all that money and it was stolen a year later 🤣
Why disregard the fenders? I don't get that one!
They are widow makers that’s why. The front one will vibrate so much at speed it will fold up and lock the front tire up. I don’t even care to risk it. It’s a very common and tragic injury/death
@ColdStartGarage . . . and the rear fender? That's the important one when riding on a wet road. I'm getting this motor 'kit' next week, and am just going over what I'm getting into. Seeing if there's any specialty tools required besides the chain breaker. Btw, I actually dig that bright yellow with the forest green. 👍
I don’t recommend any bicycle style fenders. You could get creative with water protection I suppose: just beware of parts that can lock up wheels unexpectedly. It’s really not worth the risk. Just remember these China death traps and bicycles was not designed for 30-40 mph
There are two more videos for refinements after this one.
@ColdStartGarage F-ZERO 'motor ready' bike at Bike Berry for $499 >>>> this bike is made for an engine, and has hand brakes on both front & back tires, so, I ask myself, where in the hell does the clutch handle go? Why would this bike be built for an engine that operates with a clutch, and yet both brakes have handles? Matter of fact, shouldn't this bike be made with a handle that can 'handle' both brake cables at the same time? I just don't get this one, and on such a nice bike! Happy Thanksgiving!!! 😊
Glad to see u finaly back with the motorized bicycle
I’ll pepper them In when I have the drive to do so. But I’m not strictly a motor bicycle channel. As you know . 🤘🏻🏁🏁🏁
i would try a 102 jet
105 102. And raise the needle one clip
I talk about that in my 3 video. It does happen
does that clutch have a set screw?
Yes
now you're cookin' i couldn't remember what that term was[squish gap] but that could have kept the motor from running without the choke
without an air filter on the carb it isn't likely to run without the choke
Ya it does. 🤣 check out my very next video on the Minarelli build and see how I royally messed it up 🤘🏻🏁🎶🎶🎶
Im out of ideas mine probably ganna be stuck like it is lol thinking of changing to a expansion chamber exhaust
What are you referring to? I’m missing some information on this one
@ColdStartGarage Basically I Can't Make It Go faster lol so I'm ganna get a new exhaust the expansion chamber one and see but then might try getting a different carb
You want top end or acceleration?
@ColdStartGarage I want better speed And maybe acceleration yea
Remember don't breath sand, definitely stay away from sugary drinks (google Benjamin Bikman). Definitely definitely don't shortcut on dry air for blasting.. 😎
x the protectors and install screen door mesh metal or stainless it makes world of difference
Makes me realize I should have a blaster cabinet in my shop, but instead I know a guy hahahaa
Nice job on the Tasmanian Dust making machine! Looking forward to your next build!👍
Looking forward to watching the upgrade!👍
Great to see and hear things are fullly operational 🎶. Cool air pump too, small and apparently functional.
It pumps small volume tires pretty ok. Car tires from 9psi to 30. She struggles a bit. But will do it
I have that same carb on my avenger85 what carb is it because I have no clue and need jets
It’s a knock off makuni carb from California motor bikes. The link to the jets are in my description
@@ColdStartGarage thank you bro
You are welcome. Let me know how it turns out
It's great to see an update with the Minarelli Build! I a using a little bigger 12v Air Pump / jump pack similar to the one you're using, and I am able to run headlight, tail light, turn signals, camera, phone, etc. For a couple weeks without having to recharge. It's Handier than a coat pocket. Your bike is looking really sweet and it seems like you got it dialed in pretty good. It seems to idle super nice which is a big plus. I hope you I have been able to ride it quite a bit this summer and look forward to the next video when it's broken. Keep up the great work my friend, really enjoy watching the channel..👍
I don’t normally sponsor videos. But a free to me little air pump. I’ll find a use for it.
She fires right up easily know. Runs great. Still could use a couple tweaks. But she is a bit too loud for my neighbors
Shout out to Dave!
Thanks for the video 📹 🎉🎉🎉
You are welcome. Fun was had by all
I'm gonna be a solid bud for ya on this one and recommend next time go for the cdh yd85(avenger85). Same motor slightly cheaper and they're service is top tier. My fist one had seal leak and bad squish gap. Same day the shipped me a whole new avenger. No return:no hassle... no bs at all. Now I after some work I have 2 avengers at less than 200$. Also I recommend the go max belly pipe for that. It may be alittle work to fit up but the shorter header length max for a higher rpm pipe hit. On a 32t sprocket I reached highway speed easily!
show how u removed the line from shifter
I used my hands…. I believe I unbolted the h pattern from the chassis so I can get to the cables easier. But that was many beers ago since I did that job
I have one of these Chinese diesel motors I swapped on to a 1969 Sears garden tractor. Got the tractor with a blown engine so I swapped the diesel over. Rattles to no end but rolls coal out of the stack and has enough torque to tow anything I can find and the tractor has a 6 speed manual so with the lowest gear I could tow more. Gonna use it to plow snow this winter and btw I have a video of it on my channel I had to do for a school project.
I don’t use the motor much these days. My UA-cam videos have slowed way down. New career new things to learn. It’s taking a toll. I’m not done filming. I have projects filmed. They are waiting on me
is it a 49cc minarelli if yes what pipe did you buy and on what website
My full form content first video of the build of this minarelli has all the links in the description. If I remember I’ll dig it out and send you a link later. Or you can sniff around for it. Whichever 🤘🏻🏁🏁🏁
Looks awesome brother and a beautiful day ride safe
If you wrap strips up rubber innertube on the bike frame behind the motor mounts it will cut down the vibration.
Thanks for your insight!
@ your welcome!
Sounds awesome brother
Thanks Mike. When I get a minute I’ll drop it down one main jet, not that it will change the idle. 🤣🤘🏻🏁🏁🏁
Bud needs some Rusteze 😂
Sure did. That truck was not healthy
Haha and then I watched his little Snapcrap video lol sure as shit caught me a glimpse ofan ol country road ol boy What y’all want me to yal at it woot you can see them there gator skin boots wit did mirror bullshit ain’t no queers here
What you saying.
Now you will take pictures/selfies of yourself , your boat and trailer while “in tow motion” using your rear wo Nelly no queer side mirror to reflect your better than everyone lifestyle ofuck yea
You doing ok?
The way I start mine is I don't yank on that quarter anymore I use a gokart bump box
You're either Canadian or from the upper Midwest of the United States because of your accent but it's nothing wrong with I don't know what the I'm from the 7 cities of Southeastern Virginia
Canada is my neighbor. New York is where I’m from
Nice. Wanna try one. Dont like the soft seize deal tho
Ya I guess they are finicky. I honed it before I assembled it.. but this machine is just a toy. If someone wanted something for commute, I’d recommend something else
Put a silencer on it then
Plan on it. What do you recommend?
@@ColdStartGarage whatever you can find😆. I cut a Phantom 85 silencer off and attached it to the end of the expansion chamber with a radiator hose and clamps. Works great
@@Matthew-wj8cm pretty good idea ! 🤘🏻🏁🏁
