What kind of person looks at gorgeous pieces like these and says, yeah, some paint is just what this needs?
We think the natural wood grain is beautiful today, but that's because today's fashion says it is. As some point in the life of this piece, fashion said that a painted surface looked better. That's why so many beautiful pieces were painted over. It's great that we can reverse that and interesting that our ideas of what is beautiful can change. Imagine what that says for people with tattoos.
I love that you put your logo on the little door! It’s so respectful of the original maker, but also allows you to make your mark on a piece that you so caringly restored!

That wood grain is really beautiful - such a shame someone painted over it. Your resourcefulness in making your own striker plate is awesome as well. I am a tree an wood person and as such I’m not in favor of anyone painting wood fur, but with this piece, it was criminal. I haven’t seen graining like that in…a very long time. You took care with every part, every surface inside and out…and this time it was the bottom’s bottom. I know how happy this cupboard was to be loved all over because she has a smile on top. Millennials (young people) don't know the value of furniture they try to "up grad". There are many young people out there taking old furniture and completely ruining them. They think they are "up scaling" a piece but they're not.

Maybe a harness instead of a collar. They don't cause a choking sensation for the cat.

I agree. Furniture has been a form of therapy for me. Helped me a lot with anxiety when I worked as a nurse on an acute medical unit.

He recently got the Bengal, Mando. Hugo, the fluffy gray tabby, still visits. The fluffy orange tabby and his family moved away.
The other cats don't belong to him. I love his new fur baby though. So adorable! 😸🤗
