Well, I think the reason the whole audience is quite supportive, other than the fact that most of them understand what she's been through, is also because most of them are performers, or someone who've lived through that world, and they're aware how sometimes, shit happens which prevented you from performing your best
I think her problem is big tv performances. When she’s on her own, in concerts and tours she does a lot better.

as someone that has seen her perform “sober” and “revival remix” at her tour I almost don’t recognize her on this performance, that’s why I believe that she gets so nervous singing to general public but she is so comfortable singing for fans on tour, and it’s where her voice definitely shines better

I listened to her sing live in her concert. It was awesome!
People be acting like the panic attacks are just something so easy to deal with . SHE had a PANIC ATTACK before the performance that mean she couldnt breath well and u can hear her voice was shaking . U can hear that at the end of lytlm her voice got so much better .plus the second song was live but the music was a little bit more powerful than lytlm that's why it looks like it wasnt live . Give her a break she has so much good performances than bad ones . she has a soft sweet voice and i love it .

@@nora1423 no it´s not, she was really dissapointed because in her stories of the rehearsals she was doing it really good, but before going to the stage she had a PANIC ATTACK and that´s why her voice, hands, legs were shaking!

The panic attack was fake, Selenators on twitter admitted they faked that rumour so she wouldn’t get a lot of backlash from sounding ‘bad’ she may have been nervous which is why she might have been shaking/sounded shaky but the panic attack rumour was false

As someone who’s been to her concert I can confirm she can sing. She’s not the worst singer but she’s also not the best singer. She’s way better than what you’d expect.

After I experience panic attacks I normally try sing to make myself calm but I will admit i cannot sing after panic attacks so I feel her if it was me I wouldnt have been able to go up

Thank you for understanding her. I know she is not the best world singer but she has a beautiful voice and on this performance it didn't go well because she was very nervous. Most people are very hard on her when it comes to singing.
I havent seen alot of selena’s performance. As an artist if she messed it up. Ok. Everyone has bad days. I sort of kind of maybe understand. But if she needs to slay the next performance. She needs to slay it harder than ever. Thats what artist do.
After Watching "Selena Gomez: My Mind And Me" , this performance makes me cry. She's been through a lot. A lot of people in the comments are complaining that she can't sing, she's a "manufactured pop star'', she just makes excuses, she's a drug addict and was drunk that night, please just go and watch the documentary. I get people who are tired of the excuses with her voice but as someone who has panic attacks and anxiety it so makes a difference. I can sing better through any physical injury than I can when I’m anxious. Your throat locks up and it’s hard to speak and that’s definitely what’s going on here. I think she gets anxious during high pressure performances- her low pressure performances are always really great to watch. She’s not the best but it’s not even about that. I love her voice and her music. I kinda wish she’d turn down a lot of these big things but she’s probably contractually obligated to do them
Trust me, I know. If I'm comfortable and relaxed and belts notes just fine and keep the tone and pitch of the notes going smoothly. On the other hand, if I'm highly upset and try, it's like I lose my breath control and not only am I off key, I can't belt at all.

I'm really happy that you didnt judge this performance in a negative way. That you were honest and paying attention to what was going on with her at the moment. Dont think it's nice that people have laughed or made fun of that performance. Shes human too and it was an emotional song to sing in the first place given the personal content.
Selena can sig very well when she’s comfortable, but when she gets nervous it’s another story
She can make great vocal notes in studio or small concerts, when she’s not experiencing anxiety

Selena was contractually obliged to make this presentation. She is a conatora who is very hateful and has health problems that make everything worse, on the day she suffered a terrible panic attack, she was given 2 pills of clonazepam (a remedy similar to anxiety and a strong sedative) and orbigated her up to the stage!
there are sources who confirm that she was forced to take the drugs and take the stage by contract already signed.
The remedy in question really freed her from anxiety and panic attack, but at this dose for an immediate response, it leaves the person sleepy and with little control of movements, there is a case that this dose is sufficient for the coma. In patients with low drug resistance.
I'm not sure why her fans have to keep mentioning her health issues. I am also a fan of selena's but just cause she has health issues doesnt negate the fact that it affects the quality of her voice. She doesn't sound good live. End of story

I literally almost cried seeing this, cause you can just see and hear, that she's exhausted and nervous. You can see, that she's had a rough time before the performance and the fact that she still went out and tried her best is admirable. Thank you so much for being nice and understanding. As you said, it was a very emotional moment for her, and that definitely had an effect on her voice. Moreover, there were technical issues during her performance of Loose You To Love Me, so she couldn’t hear herself, but they fixed them during Look At Her Now, that’s why she started to sound better. Billboard confirmed this on an article, so I’m not making it up hahahaha. Anyways, it’s nice to see you understand what happened, since almost everybody else just made fun of her.

people always make excuses for Selena when she gives a performance. Just say what you’re all thinking...she isn’t that great live, period. She sounds good on the record and that’s the only place we should hear her.
She's not the best singer. No one will say that. She's also had lots of bad live performances since her lupus started effecting her health. But she's also had amazing performances in the past such as her revival tour when she was at a point where she was just a tier below Demi or Ariana and looked promising as a live singer. Her style isn't fit for live performances either but during that time she was going for higher notes and a bigger vocal range. The fact that she doesn't sing in her normal voice also has a huge effect on that. But all that aside in this AMA performance she had a panic attack before her first performance which also had insufficient time for practicing the routine. And her live studio instrumental performances since this let down performance have been solid. Hopefully she can get healthy soon and be back at that revival level but she isn't as bad as people make her out to be and especially not as a singer overall (so if you count her work outside of live crowd performances). Also you do know this is a well respected professional vocal coach who's video you commented on right?

Anxiety/depression is serious man. And I know from personal experience that it can incapacitate you... I haven’t been able to even get out of the house to go work, shop or eat for over 6 months. If she was really having an Attack before the performance, I’m surprise she didn’t just cancel; I know I would never be able to even get out of a room unaided if it happened...

I think it's time to stop excusing Selena. She can't sing and that's the truth. She always uses her mental health (or being emotional) as an excuse for her awful performances while there are other artists like Ariana Grande or Demi Lovato struggling with mental issues as well and they never sound awful when they perform. Agreed. Have you seen Ariana performing at the Manchester Benefit ? Pretty sure the poor girl was traumatized and she still nailed her set. Selena Gomez puts out really good songs, "Loose you to love me" is definitely one of the better songs released this year and the studio version is beautiful. Let me turn this around: I feel like most of her fans dont understand that going through stuff doesnt affect talent and that she is playing a victim. Most singers went through worse shit and sing like angels (Adele, MJ, Whitney and Ariana to name a few). And if she is so "nervous and panicy" she then simply isnt made for this job. After 13/14 years of singing she should be used to concerts by now. She sang even before Justin and her health issues (that she caused with all the drugs and alcohol anyway), and she even then had no talent. She isnt innocent. She was part of the problem too. Selena Gomez can sing, her music is good. I will say she’s way better in concert and in studio. Live TV performances aren’t her thing, I think the pressure gets to her and there’s quite a many people that just have stage fright like that. I felt like she sounded fine as she kept going, but when you only have 4 minutes you can't really be warming it up in that first minute or so. Lol. In my opinion. At the end her face looked like she was disappointed really badly.
I lost my voice in the middle of a performance due to anxiety. I had no idea what was going on with me. I was scared, embarrassed, and I had to walk off stage and cut songs from my set. Unless you’ve had this happen you’ll never understand how debilitating it can be and HOW STRONG THIS GIRL REALLY IS.👌🏼
Selena needs company, when She alone and everyone looking at her she was absolutely nervous and her voice shaking, When the dancers came out you can see that she's comfortable it's like in her own concert with the fans and the dancers

I don't think it's that Selena can't sing EVER she just can't sing reliably. There may be days where she sings somewhat well, but then there are too many where she's flat and/or pitchy. It's like a wild card with her, whereas other a lot of other singers don't have that problem (i.e. Beyonce, Ariana, Demi Lovato, etc.) And because Selena has so many problems singing well, a career as a musician probably wasn't the best choice. I wish she would have continued acting because her acting was always _so good_ compared to her singing

The truth is Most of her Live performances that have little auto tune are bad. Sure she can sing well once in a blue moon, but a good singer is one who consistently has good vocals. Selena’s live performances are very inconsistent, that’s why she’s a weak singer. Simple as that 🤷♀️

Selena's voice is amazing but she just can't sing live. And thats perfectly fine. Her songs are great, she has quite a few bangers. But she could never sing live. We should stop pretending like she was ever good at that.

My friend....at her level....it was pulled through even for armature status. You love her songs...but man, she can't sing live dude.
I really do like her songs, but honestly, her live performances are odd to me. I say that because they really aren't always bad. I mean, when she performed live for the song "Let Somebody Go" with Coldplay, she did a great job. I've heard other great live performances of hers as well. But when she performs poorly, it's like really bad. I don't really understand.
I do know one thing. When I sing, there are times when I sound great; however: when my physical illness or mindset is off, it's like I just lose the ability of breath control and then the worse I'm doing, the more tense I get. It's strange and possibly her issue too.
A month before this she performed "anxiety" with julia michaels and sounded great so this was definitely nerves!

For everyone that says she isn't a good singer stop saying it. Actually if you see thia which I really hope, AMAS fooled selena and made her sound this way in the video. A fan that attended the Ama's took a video of selena singing at that moment and she sounded beautifully and angelic.
No one fooled her at all I saw live cameras too and she still sounded the same it's the fact that she CAN'T SING !
