Y'all have to watch the music video for "The Heart Wants What it Wants" by Selena Gomez. It's also about Justin and it's a perfect representation of women getting stuck in a manipulative relationship. One of my favorite songs because I can personally relate to it so much.

Selena is just relatable and real. Loved her doc.
Her music is very pop/dance focused. I think acting is more her true passion I think. Her documentary My Mind and Me is really really good. It’s a bit of a hard watch at points because she was dealing with a lot of mental health struggles (bipolar disorder, lupus, depression, anxiety). She’s very inspiring. And yes her and Taylor have been good friends since they were like 16. I think if you plan to watch more of her stuff the doc is a good place to start and get a foundation of her as a person (coming from poverty, working young, etc).

WELP, Ryan at the 6:50 minute mark -- so true. I've done that ONCE in college during one of my public speaking courses. Learning to never assume became implanted in me after that! I assumed that even if my peers (at the time) didn't like or listen to jazz music, they'd at least know the name John Coltrane or Miles Davis... but I never actually asked anyone. Proceeded with John due to content and guess how many hands rose when I began my 20 minute public speaking presentation with "raise your hand if you've heard of John Coltrane?". Zero indeed. Hysterical and memorable lesson. I felt ignorant, not the other way around. Luckily I've never embarrassed easily over my different interests, I enjoy and was (according to my classmates/professors) a great public speaker. Thanks for the thoughtful reaction and banter -- gave me a hilarious throwback, thank you.
