Hi Hannah! Huge fan and love this new series! Would you do a video on Britney Spear's vocal evolution??😊😊
Please react to Trolls Band Together. The vocals and songs are incredible
Hi Hanna can you
Plss wach the glee version of Daren Criss singing “somewhere only we know” plsss im begging you I’m a huge fan of you and glee hope you see it like it if you do love you💕💕💕
I have no idea what telegram is, LOL I'm old.
could you pls do demi lovato's vocal evolution
Somewhere between 2010-15 Selena Gomez got the news that she’s diagnosed with lupus, which affected her energy to sing and dance on stage. It’s so sad to watch the rise of her music career but then realize she might not be able to sing on stage as much anymore or go on tour because she has to stay home and be monitored for her condition constantly to make sure she stays healthy and alive.
Exactly as a fan it hurts sm
it was until 2015, yet she has always been so mediocre in terms of singing
@@kevinmeza2344 literally why are you commenting at me 💀💀💀 go away
@@kevinmeza2344you're weird
@@Pokemon32961 its true tho you can hear from the start she doesn’t have a powerful voice & im not a hater i like selena but het voice its that good
Her voice has changed a lot recently due to medical stuff. You can hear it in her speaking voice. I hope she continues to do what she loves and is just living her best life.
karmas a b thats what happens when you support israel
she's so untalented, why do we want more untalented people in the music industry??
oh pluheeze. she just cant sing end of.
@@tatum635 She has lupus. A side effect is changes in your voice. This is a literal fact that you can look up. And you can look up videos of her speaking in interviews from a year, two years and three years ago where her voice sounds drastically different to what it does now. Maybe actually think before you comment something that undermines someone else's real lived experience.
She doesn't have lupus that stuff has been debunked. People with lupus and kidney transplant don't drink leisurely. Maybe she's a smoker. It's some type of substance, be it alcohol, that ruined her voice.
Ooh you should do Kelly Clarkson's vocal evolution! Would love to see that. As a Selena Gomez fan I loved this vid :)
I totally agree that Kelly would be an awesome pick!!
YES! do a Kelly evolution
Yes pleeaase
i think someone like miley cyrus would be really cool to see you break down since her vocal style and albums have a wide range
I'm not the biggest Selena Gomez fan anymore, but I used to be - I grew up with Wizards of Waverly Place and one of her albums (don't remeber which one anymore) was the first CD I bought by myself with my own money. I don't listen to her music anymore, but Selena as a person and as a celebrity will always have a soft spot in my heart
Same! She was the first concert I ever went to and I loved it. No longer a fan due to her drama, but I'll always have a soft spot for her. She was such a huge part of my childhood.
shes a zionist
@@Nik-55wait what drama?
@@Nik-55 "drama" is her having a conversation with her friends? LMAO

Omg PLEASE do a vocal evolution for Demi Lovato! They've always had a lot of vocal prowess from a young age in their Disney Channel days, but would love to hear your thoughts on how their vocals have changed as they moved from pop-punk to pop to rock.
Demi, Selena and Miley had talent early but Disney pushed them to perform and record on such a brutal schedule between filming their shows and all the PR touring that they all developed some bad habits to just make it through. Demi and Selena seemed to make the corrections after leaving Disney before permanent damage, but Miley did have to get surgery to correct the damage. I found Demi's early voice rather screamy and unpleasant but developed a much more controlled power as she got older.
she has always been singing extremely well its not very interesting imo
@@venus8927they go by they/them pronouns not she/her/hers
As a fan from what i picked on Selena´s biggest problems are her lack of confidence in her singing and also her problem with breath control which might be caused by her lungs being weaken by lupus and never receiving a good guidance in finding her voice.
In her early days it´s clear to me Selena didn´t had much experience with singing. Originally Selena didn´t want to be a singer, she just wanted to be an actress but Disney saw how marketable she is and pushed her into singing anyway even when she wasn´t ready for it. With lack of work and experience in her voice + songs that weren´t suitable for her voice she had no choice but to start improvising which resulted picking up some pretty bad vocal habits that affected her for the rest of her career basically.
Selena has been working with vocal coach and improved but didn´t get rid of most bad vocal habits. Her vocal coach was her friend which might be the reason behind it. Selena needed someone who would be little hard on her and really pushed her into right direction. Years went by and constant bullying from public for her singing abilities resulted in her completely losing all her confidence. From the way Selena talked about herself it looks she kinda lost all hope of getting better and be a good singer, which is incredibly sad and such a shame because she has beautiful voice and you can see she honestly tried her best to improve.
Her vocal strengths include: beautiful sweet and slightly smoky tone, strong easily accessible lower register, falsetto and soft airy head voice, natural emotiveness in her voice and also some basic agility and vocal dynamics control.
The biggest issue for her seems to be transfer more power into her chest voice which results in squeezing, tension, nasality, overpushing and pitch problems.
What should´ve been done was to focus on her strengths, slowly get rid of all bad habits and create a strong foundation that we can build on more skills. Selena´s early music focused primarily on her issues. Pop-rock and also very energetic Pop and EDM songs don´t seem to be very suitable for her voice. More laid back and chill sounds like RnB, pop-folk and alternative pop seems to be much more appropriate and would let her voice truly shine.
Also grew up watching and listening to Selena, and couldn’t agree more with what you’ve written! Hopefully Hannah reads this.
Tbh I feel like this is just a long way of saying she never had any singing talent. She had great written songs and a workable voice, I like alot of her songs and the productions behind them but I never listened them for her voice. Anyone could sing those songs and I probably would’ve like them. You’re right that she was and still is extremely marketable.
As much as people want to dogpile on Selena's vocal abilities, you can't deny that her voice is unique and she was heading somewhere glorious with how she evolved it during the Revival and Droplets era. Songs like Perfect and Bad Liar are so uniquely suited and catered for Selena's voice and I genuinely can't imagine anyone else singing those songs without the entire vibe being completely different.
I think that her voice is unique in that it can pretty much work with any genre, but I will agree with you that in terms of her own personal vocal-potential, it won't be reached from high-energy pop/EDM/poprock songs. As fun and as successful as pop is, I think that it won't do much for her at this point, vocally. Pop is just very limiting in its allowance for her to utilize the uniqueness of her voice to its fullest potential.
She's a pop girl and is known for making catchy pop hits, so I understand why she sticks to it, especially since she has a very gifted ear for hits, but I do agree that if Selena took a risk in the future with her music direction, it could have a huge payoff. I personally really do think it's time for her to either do an indie folk/alternative album like Folklore, or fully dip into an R&B era. Songs like Mirrorball, Cardigan, and This is Me Trying would compliment her voice very much. As for R&B, I personally feel like her R&B/R&B-inspired songs have suited and explored her vocals the most out of all the genres she's dipped into the past decade. Songs like Good For You, Perfect, and Crowded Room really do show a new side to her voice and vocal-potential, so I really do think that it's time for a change.
@@tajsimms8976mind you, most singers can sing while crying, anxious, depressed, grieving AND sick and will sound good and even great. this girls problem is not her health, it's lack of ability. and i'm sick of people making excuses for her.
@@tifypiazzi94 so tell me what's the ability to become a singer ?
I remember when I went to see her live on tour, she doesn’t have the “strongest “ or I guess the best voice but god her show was outstanding. She was singing and it was good, but her performance and her connection with the audience is absolutely unmatched. I will always stand by that, she was truly giving it her all and it made her tour such an experience
Im loving this series and as a Selenator thanks for being nice to my girl. After her lupus diagnosis she hasn’t been performing much, cause she doesn’t have the physical energy for it, and even after all that evolution, she’s had some bad moments recently (in the last 4 or 5 years) due to being really nervous or not being well physically. But she did evolve so much and just listening to her newer songs you can hear the difference, and how she found herself in her lower register (which I love so much more).
Sabrina Carpenter started her singing career at around the same age Selena did, and she’s 24 now and she has a very rich tone that I think you would love to analyze.
i'm also a Selenator and i'm always ready for people to say bad things about Selena's voice, but she's always so nice to artists 🩷
Or maybe it's not lupus and it's her having only one kidney that's making her tired and low on energy? Sel doesn't have lupus that pr was debunked. People on lupus don't drink leisurely. She's an alcoholic at the very least. But you know many celebrities in that industry are. I wouldn't even judge her for it. Idk why her team fights so hard to hide her very public problems when she literally dated Justin who was doing a lot during his early adulthood.
LOVE the longer in depth video! I’d love to see a Demi version as well!!
Demi is like... awesome to incredible to WOW to this shouldn't be humanly possible
yes demi would be fun to do. They've come a long way since disney and have such powerhouse vocals
YES!!! SO MUCH YES!
Me too.
yes yes yes 🩷
In that performance with Coldplay she may not be nervous, it could be her lupus. I’m so happy she still sings because it makes her happy even if it’s harder to perform live since she’s living with her disease
I think it might be both. Singing with Coldplay would be understandably nerve inducing.
Yeah it can be both but she managed to perform really really well. I am so proud of my girl
I am LOVING this series! Your technical knowledge is fascinating to hear, and using it to analyze a specific artist throughout their career is brilliant
if anyone else made a video about Selena's voice i'd skip it because people are always so unnecessarily mean to her, but Hannah is always so kind and she always tries to show where the artist is going wrong and how they could improve, it's not a roast for views and i admire her so much for that. 🥰
Yes! Constructive critique!
selena is a zionist
selena is mediocre at best. and even she knows this.
Would love to watch you doing a Avril Lavigne vocal evolution, that's a whole journey
as a singer i love the longer notes cuz i dont need to be the singer ur talking abt to take the advice for myself so keep doing these plz i love it fr
not to mention i dont have a vocal coach or any voice lessons (which i rly rly want) so u are vv helpful in the meantime :))
I love the longer videos with more detail on the vocals! Can you do a video on the vocal evolution of P!nk please? She is amazing and I would love to see you react to her voice in general.
Why am I crying at this?? Like you noticing the littlest things, like how she started doubting herself on stage and how nervous she started being singing in front of people made so emotional, she’s been through SO MUCH and SO PUBLICLY that just makes my heart break a little, I just lover so so so much
Love your vids and definitely love the longer forms. Would love to see analysis of Miley Cyrus and Demi to complete the 2000s Disney trifecta lol
The black and white clip is my favorite performance she did. She was crying during it Such a powerful moment. I wonder how mental health plays a part in how you sing. Taylor swift said she wouldn’t expand her ribs to breathe correctly because of fat shaming, being exhausted or living up to “Disney” status/ sound or singing a song that you don’t believe in. Love your videos because you don’t just just describe the mechanics of singing. Love it.
I’m loving the longer videos, it’s like hanging out with a friend but also learning vocal tips! Please keep this vocal evolution series and you should do a Hayley Williams one.
I think Selena did an interview about the collab with Coldplay. If I remember correctly, she said that was the first time she really felt like a singer. She was nervous because before that people really trashed her singing. She said Chris made her really comfortable when recording the song together and that she truly felt like a singer then. I felt so bad for her because so many people bullied her about her singing. I think she said before that collab, she was thinking of never singing again and just focus on acting. She ended up hating her own voice after having everyone tell her she sucked. I personally thought her collab was a really beautiful performance by both her and Chris. She sounded fantastic and Princess-y lol.
Also, she ended up being diagnosed with Lupus in her late teens, early 20’s, I believe. That messed with her voice as well.
Love to hear you analyze. Don't stop. It's your job and we're here for it. I feel like I learn a lot from hearing you. I've started to pay attention to my singing more after starting to watch you 😊.
Next up... Miley Cyrus 🤭. Or even Demi Lovato 👀
Would you please do more videos like this? Vocal evolutions for:
Ariana Grande
Shawn Mendes
Grace VanderWaal - I know you don't know who this is but I really want you to look at her work, she's very very talented
Olivia Rodrigo
Sabrina Carpenter
Kelly Clarkson
Demi Lovato
Billie Ellish
Miley Cyrus
P!nk
I was thinking Grace Vanderwaal too
Camila Cabello too❤
I second Shawn Mendes. His voice and technique changed so much due to puberty.
This is giving me so much nostalgia. I love Selena down and I love her voice. She’s never been a strong vocalist but neither are lot of the big artist in the industry. She makes consistent great music. It’s so sad what lupus did to her. I miss her performing with the energy she used to have in early days. But ultimately it’s best that she takes care of herself.
As a Selena fan and someone who's seen her in concert, I've always felt she wasn't the strongest singer. It's so exciting to see her progress over the years! Singing is so difficult!
You should react to Shakira's vocal evolution since she has a career of more than 30 years and a very weird(in a good way) vocal style. She also has the ability to dance and sing at the same time perfectly (even though she has been lip syncing lately).Im from Uruguay and I love your channel, I think is amazing!!!
LOVE the longer videos. Keep them coming!!!
I LOVE VOCAL NERD HANNAH!!! I love when you go into the biophysics of how people sing.
Love the long, nerdy videos! You do them so well, balancing objective analysis with compassion for the singers circumstances.
Keep up the terrific work!❤
I love your longer videos!! I get way more out of these than the shorter videos where you basically say "yay, good job" keep this going!
I love the longer videos, it's so amazing to learn about everything you can point out
Love these ones please keep doing the long format
i dont think it was only the nervousness there... she has lupus, a condition that could kill her if not contantly monitored and controlled, and it, basically, is her immune system making her get tired really really fast and effing up all her joints and muscles... all the medicine just complicates more and more all of the other systems just so she can stay alive, and also, she can´t get sunlight, which just cooperates for her to not go on live shows anymore. its really sad to think about giving up on something you enjoy, so i think its really impressive that she still can be happy
as a selenator & carpenter, this video coming out right after your feather reaction makes me feel like I am personally being catered to here ❤
I absolutely love the longer videos! So much good info
I remember the days of being a Selena Gomez fan and debating people on if she can sing or not XD I was such a huge fan of hers. It is very interesting to hear you go in depth about this now. I love these videos!
I love you rephrasing "lipsyncing" to "singing with support from pre recorded vocals" 🥲 very gracious of you
They're not the same. Lipsyncing means you dont sing at all you just move your lips. Selena does sing , just not the high notes those are prerecorded thats what she meant
I prefer this in-depth analyzation type of video much more than your old style 👏🏻👏🏻
i absolutely love the more detailed discussion in these new videos!! idc if it’s a 40 minute video, plus i get to learn new stuff 💗 luv u hannah
I really like these longer vids where you get nerdy. I want to learn as much as I can when it comes to singing, and comparing and contrasting what I learn in my music/choir classes to what you say is so much fun!
I LOVE this vocal analysis series! It’s really fascinating to learn about and also gives me some insight that I was t able to get when I did voice lessons :D
An amazing video as always ❤️ THE BEST VOCAL COACH EVER!!!!
I love these longer form videos! I absolutely love hearing your detailed analysis. It's absolutely fascinating!
I love these longer videos. They are so informative!! pls do these more often!!
I was waiting you’d do something Selena related! I love this video! I love how you’re always respectful towards the artist 💕. Selena is not your big belt singer but she definitely feels her music and her breathy voice is so pretty
Just wanted to say, I love that as a react channel that you actually react and share your knowledge with us. Instead of just watching videos and add minimal commentary like some channels do on UA-cam.
LOVE the longer videos!!
The in depth vocal analysis is great! I loved this video, please do more of them!
I picked up on, and greatly appreciated, the Pretty Little Liars reference immediately. You said Aria realness and I just instinctively knew what you meant, didn't even think about it being a PLL reference until you mentioned it.
This series is so interesting. I am such a fan. Selena is one of my constant favs so I've very much enjoyed it. I highly recommend Jeremy Jordan, Christina Perri, Kelly Clarkson, Mandy Moore, Katherine McPhee. I have a bunch more but that's it for now. Honestly, this video made my whole week. I love when you post and the length of your post is literally the best.
I love the nitty gritty vocal technique talk!! Keep it coming!!
I really like these longer videos! I sang in school and like to sing for fun, but I never had any “formal” singing lessons. I’m told I sound good, so I enjoy hearing more of the mechanics on how to sound good, better, best!
Thanks for all your work Hannah!
I wish u got to see more of her performances from 2015/2016 her confidence and stage presence were unmatched. She knew she was a bad bitch. She had already been diagnosed with lupus by that point but that didn’t stop her or lower her confidence. She did have to end up cancelling her revival tour halfway through in 2016 due to her health declining. In early 2017 she had her kidney transplant. Since then shes taken a step back & focused on her health a lot more. She also seems so have lost some of her confidence, I believe with the lupus affecting her voice and having already been somewhat insecure about it. I also think she’s taken a step back from music because I don’t think her heart is in it as much as it used to be. I think Disney pushed her in that direction and her heart wasn’t fully in it yet and she didn’t have the confidence so she asked to do music with a band and so Selena Gomez & the scene was born. And now with all of her health issues and not wanting the kind of attention being a pop star gives her she’s taken a step back and puts a lot of time between her albums, but she acknowledges it and gives us new songs and projects here and there but now it’s only when she’s up for it. She puts most of her focus into philanthropy and her cosmetics company rare beauty and lately has been doing more acting which I’m living for. Loving the longer videos. Keep up the good work.
What health problems? That time she was drinking a lot and she cancel her performance. She wad to an alcohol rehabilitation center
I would be very interested in a Demi evolution I think she has so much versatility
Love hearing the longer analysis in these videos! Nothing better than someone nerding out about a topic of interest.
LOVE the longer videosss ❤❤
I love the idea for this series. What a great way to help people identify their own tendencies towards something and show how you can progress out of those tendencies.
As for Selena- I am a bit older so never really watched her Disney shows or listened to her music so came into this pretty “blind”. I imagine that she was quite influenced by the sounds of 90’s music which often had a tighter sound (thinking of Avril Lavigne off the top of my head). I think that sound was especially prevalent for Alto singers so she was likely, at such a young age, working to find that sound and in turn building a bit of a bad habit in her young voice that now stays with her and needs some fairly constant unlearning.
She sounds wonderful, and as someone with a light airy voice (who struggles to connect to the chest), I am a bit jealous of the natural depth she has in her voice.
I love your longer videos with nitty-gritty of the voices 😍😍😍
Love the longer more in-depth videos! My mum was a singing teacher when I was growing up and I love all the voice nerdy stuff!
Love the longer videos, and it’s really cool to hear all your thoughts.
I’m starting vocal coaching in a few weeks and I’m kinda nervous but I’m glad to at least have a little background in it from here!✨
Please please please please do Demi Lovato. She just released Revamped a few months ago and its the PERFECT album for this video format. I love this format soooooo much. More please.
Also, having to pee when nervous is normal! Your body is trying to empty itself so that it doesn't have to carry as much when you're running away from lions and tigers and bears, oh my. Its the same reason we feel nauseous. The body wants to throw up the food cuz digestion takes energy and blood flow you need to run away and food is lowkey heavy.
Thank you for coming out with this video of our queen! ❤️
i really really like the longer, more in-depth vocal nerd videos! i think it's interesting bc i wouldn't recognize anything you point out but i can use it to make my voice better
I'd love a vocal evolution for Sabrina Carpenter!!!
Hey Hannah. I really like this new series. I think you should do one on Tori Kelly. I know she's so amazing that people might stay away because what more can you say but I think her voice has improved even more. She has changed up her sound, and I think she deserves more recognition. 😊
Yes love the longer in depth analysis!
I love the longer, technical videos!
Would love if you did Demi next! You’re an awesome vocal coach
I have been asking this since ReVamped came out! Keep commenting! Maybe she'll see it 😊😊
I love this series! Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us, it's so interesting and you are always so sweet and kind ❤
If you want to try a male singer, you could try to watch the vocal evolution of Luke Hemmings from 5 Seconds of Summer, he is so underrated but his voice is beautiful and has improved so much!
I really enjoy you breaking all of these clips down! I would love to watch more videos of you doing this.
Also idk if you have watched/reacted to some of those more classic Disney Channel movies that came out in the early 2000s, but those could be fun to watch and react to
I love this kind of video!
Could you do Michael Jackson vocal evolution?? He started singing at such a young age and I don't think people talk enough about his amazing singing abilities
I LOVE the longer, more in depth videos. They're super helpful and exactly what I need. Also, I have throat tension. I'm taking a weekly singing class to work on it!
I just looooove these type of videos where you really go into the vocal techniques, please do more! This was so interesting to me, I learned a lot
I LOVE the longer format. This is such a fun way to get a few tidbits of vocal info as well as being entertained! LOVE LOVE LOVE
I wanna see Demi Lovato in this videos
Yes, an actual vocalist
Also Beyoncé or Olivia Rodrigo if that is not already done
YES PLEASE. Especially now that ReVamped has been out for what feels like forever! I've commented and asked on every video and post since and nothing 😢😢😢
@@nicanproud Holy Fvck and Revamped should've been more popular, they're soooo good
Yass Demi!!!!
I hate how people say she can’t sing like she might not be the technical best or hit incredible notes but her voice can tell a story well. It’s like she acts the song well when she sings
that's why she should stick to acting
please do more like these that are longer. I love the way you analise voices
Love the long videos! More Hannah! 😊
Definitely just used your code for Scentbird!! I'm also not a signature scent girly so I'm super excited to try some new ones! Me and Selena are also only 2 months apart in age so this video was FULL of so much nostalgia!!!! I LOVE these videos and would LOVE one on Olivia Rodrigo! Other artist ideas are Billie Eilish, Ben Platt, Chappell Roan, Harry Styles, Jewel, Reese Witherspoon, Katy Perry, and I could go on, lol! Also! Do you offer virtual voice lessons? If not, how do you recommend finding a good vocal coach in my area? It's been around 4 years since I've been in lessons and I'm in dire need, lol! Sending all the love
I love these longer vids. I have a long commute from work and listening to these is a really nice filler for that. I have a list of people that would be great for this series:
Miley Cyrus
Demi Levato
Ariana Grande
Nick Jonas / Joe Jonas (could be a cool combo video)
Justin Timberlake
There’s probably plenty more, but these would be awesome! Love all your videos!
I’d love any/all of these 😂 Miley Cyrus and the Jonases are favorites of mine
I love the longer videos! The more Daddy Hannah the better!

We need a Demi Lovato vocal evolution hahaha. I saw someone say once that Selena Gomez doesn't have a super amazing voice, but she knows how to use the voice she has in a great way.
I love Hannah so much! I love making music and she teaches me a lot for me to sing. Thank you miss Hannah! ❤ Also, you should react to a female singer who is called chinchilla!
You asked about your longer form content, I enjoy it thank you. Great video.
I really appreciate the long format and explication about the voice. Please keep doing it 🙏

I've always loved her unique sound BUT definitely see her more as an actress who sings, rather than a singer.

You seem so nice! And the way you explain things is really good, keep up the great work
