I work swing shift so I get home at like midnight and am up playing video games a lot of the time for a few hours, just moved into a place where I share a connected bathroom and a wall with closets in it with someone else, thinking about copping these and putting them on the bathroom door, getting a rug because the floor is loud and maybe buying a white noise machine because I’ve seen them work other places pretty well. Right now I’ve been playing brown noise through a Bluetooth speaker and it helps significantly I think since no one has ever complained but It’s kind of a pain in the butt. Nice video
Thank you, I appreciate your support! I just shared a new video as well! I used to work swing it can be pretty hard on roommates that work the typical hours for sound disturbances. Rugs make a huge difference! Wishing you luck, appreciate your support. Have a good weekend!
You can also drill some holes into the edges of your hollow door and fill it with foam insinuation as much as possible and then when the foam eventually gets to the holes you can let it dry and then sand paper it down and paint it or stain it the color of the door and then place the sound proofing over the door. Make sure to fold some heavy cloth and staple it to the bottom of the door so the floor is meeting th bottom of the door. You have to do the same for the whole outside of the door aswell
I had a noisy HVAC closet and used a folded movers carpet (Cheap style you get at uhaul, not the quilted ones) to whatever dimensions cover the inside of the door and then stapled it on. It reduced the noise significantly, but I didn't have a decibel meter to tell what improvement it made. You can also use a couple layers of old towels to get the same effect. I got the idea from a youtuber who wanted to make cheap sound deadening panels for his audio room.
I live in an apartment complex where the walls are pretty thin which is ridiculous considering I pay so much for rent. I plan to tape these at the back of wall art and hang them hopefully they cancel some noise
This is accoustic deadening, just to be factually accuraye, it is not considered 'sound proofing' as such. Sound proofing, requires mass installtion, separation and density value increase to remove low end virbrational transference.
Hey! I’m working from home and am on the phone all the time. I want to have a bit of privacy, so what I’m thinking of doing is getting a big box and lining it on the inside with the panels, and then basically speaking into the box. Would that do much for the sound? Do the panels work well?

I know you said you moved, but how much did this help? For me any sound reduction would be better than nothing! Maybe it'd help to compare the sound reduction to using a remote to turn down the volume on a TV, with the max TV volume being 100: how many notches would it bring down the volume? If your little brothers yelling would be like the TV set to 50, would the panels bring it down to 45? Or lower?
Hmmmm trying to think this one through, so say my brother volume was like 75 (cus that's closest to what it felt like) I'd say this brought it more to a 50 or 55, rugs also help tremendously! Best of luck, thanks for tuning in!
Did it make any difference in your room? I live in an apartment complex and my next door neighbors play movies and video games late during the night with a heavy bass system, its a nightmare. I spoke with the landlord 4 times and nothing has changed. Now im looking into ways to keep the noise out of my apartment. Any tips?
Hey there, sorry to hear you have all of those disturbances, honestly your best solution would be having your neighbors set this up in their game room because you want it as close to the noise pollution as possible; perhaps if you bought them they would put them up? Worth asking politely. Sorry you have to deal with that,. On my lease it says no loud tv or music neighbors can hear after 10pm does your say that? Cus if so your neighbors likely does to in which case you have a better argument.
What did you use to stick the panels to the door and does does it cause any problem to the door after you take them off? I am sharing and apartment and I would like to try this without the risk of damaging the surface of the door, since the house is not mine and I will eventually have to take the panels off.
What kind of door do you have? Is it like mine? Mine didn’t cause damage, I used command strips but honestly you might be better off just getting a carpet for the area you want to minimize the sound from, hope this helps!! Best of luck!
How different was the noise level afterwards? My bedroom door is exactly like yours and I live at home with very loud grandparents. They had removed the carpet so the whole house is hardwood and you can pretty much hear a mouse scuttle across the floor from the opposite end of the home.
You’re probably better off buying them slippers and a carpet for the hallway outside your door this didn’t change the noise drastically thanks for the support on my channel tho
I was wondering if you know a way to do it from the inside without it being so… different???? Or like a way to cover it up. My sisters room is right next to the tv room and my family is refusing to not use it at night, so any tips??
