The wear on the door cards and steering wheel are what I'd expect for a 250K km car but it looks like a good project. The scratches on the door shut could be caused by getting the seat belt buckle caught in the door so it might be worth checking the seat belts for wear.
had couple of the same scratches on our Disco, seat belts are ok, but the previous owner was fat, and when he was geting out of the car he usualy twisted the seat belt so it was unable to wind itself up and got stuck between door and pillar :-)
Also as temporary measure for the windscreen wiper plastic panel, remove panel and install a duck tape lip to take the water past the air intake duct.
The door jar damage is to do with a slow recoil on seatbelt. Common problem. Easily fixed by scrubbing the seatbelt then when it’s fresh and dry spray with dry silicone lubricant.
Also Peter, have a look at lazer led front lights. I have a pair integrated into my grill and I love them

Im also looking for one similar to yours, I am curious to know why you chose the 210 bhp model instead of the 255bhp?
I bought Landrover Discovery 4 Landmark in Aug 2023. At that time my Disco 4 was giving me only poor 26 mpg and I wasn't happy with fuel consumption. Then I serviced the car myself using ZX1Extralube engine lubricant with 5w30 Oil. After that my car stated to give 29 mpg and it brought smile to my face. Then about 7 months later I serviced the car again with 5w30 oil and also added STP Ceramic Engine lubricant to it. Now to my surprise I'm getting from initially 26mpg to 32 mpg. I'm very happy now and impressed by the lubricant. Its great improvement in fuel consumption. Happy days. Next time I'll service car using Engine lubricant with 5w40 Engine Oil and see what further difference would it make

I dont understand to sell the better-looking lr4 to get another one, i own 07 lr3 and just bought a 04 D2 , the D2 has soild front and rear axles, which is excellent for lifting, excellent for offroad, i like the black lr4 better it gets very expensive to build a overland when you had everything on the black lr4 , im planning to buy a lr322 in future to build into a overland build you don't see many builds for ranger rovers even the 405 are becoming cheap to buy but the 405 is more rounded i like the square box look knobs & switches, having a computer monitor screen that controls everything not good if monitor goes bad 😊

Hey, yes, the underbody needs some work. But at the moment it's a bit too cold to apply the rust converter 😉 I think that will be a project for the spring. All the best, Peter

Haha, yes, that's probably true. No one else would be that crazy 😉
I'm going to go to an independent garage with an LR specialist to at least have someone else look at it. But it's already been completely checked by an inspection service provider (ÖAMTC). The only thing they found is that the centre shaft bearing still needs to be replaced.
But as it's a Land Rover, there's a lot more to come 😄

To me it feels like the driver door latch mechanism had failed while the door was locked. The marks seems to be from some tool used to pry the door open. DIY job at extreme budget!
on the door had mine the same think someone tried to break in with a wire
Mine are too deep for a wire. Therefore I believe that, as many have already mentioned, it was the buckle of the belt that got in the way when closing.

I'm in a similar situation: I just bought a LR4 (2014, 180kkm) with a not entierly known history and now I'm facing the similar task of giving him (he's got a name 😀) a reliable technical status quo. So I'll be very keen watching your videos as you progress to bring it into a good condition. 😉 BTW I'd be interested in the wooden panels - shall we swap?

I think those door marks are from the seatbelt being loose and closed when shutting the door.

Ja, es ist schon einiges zu tun am Disco! Dafür freut es mich dann umso mehr, wenn er dann fast wieder wie neue aussieht und sich auch so fährt! Ich kann dir so viel zu Preis verraten: In Deutschland bekommt man dafür nicht mal einen aus dem selben Baujahr mit Motorschaden. Zumindest was ich zum damaligen Zeitpunkt auf diversen Portalen gefunden habe. Und bei uns kommt ja die Nova auch noch hinzu. Daher denke ich, auch wenn er sicherlich noch die ein oder anderen Kosten verursacht, dass es ein guter Kauf war. 😉

Boy oh boy! To wear out the interior of an LR4, even at 200+ km, requires special brutality. Lr4 is famous for its interior durability. The owner was a total jerk.
Yes, with both normal and demanding use, nothing really breaks, or very rarely. Although I have to say, the seat also opened up on our black one. But otherwise it didn't look like that. Anyway, it's slowly but surely getting better 🤣
