Easy build! Thanks for sharing. One thing to note make sure the screws securing the slats are lower than the thickness of the slat to avoid getting holes in your mattress over time
I would still greatly recommend a center support beam to stabilize the slats and the weight in the middle of the bed. Like this, the bed will sag in the middle too much and put undue pressure on the middle slats.
@@crystalg1186 I don't know how to be clearer... Another piece of wood that runs the length of the bed, through the center, attached to the headboard and footboard, to support the slats in the middle.
I agree, it's called a keel, I suggest using 2 columns per keel. Single size 36 inch wide bed- 1 keel Double size 48in- 2 keels Queen 60in- 3 keels King 72in - 4 keels
I have a bed frame with a center support beam and plan to make my own slats. Can I use individual slats and place them on each side of the support beam?
I doubt it could be much simpler and easier without putting the mattress on the floor! 😊 Thanks for the Ikea slats tip, too. Nicely presented. Thank you!
They sell Metal inside corner Metal brackets you can chisel in to take the load of from the crews and lands on the metal bracket. I like it versus the anchored bolts because the screw will back out with time. But it’s an awesome build.
thanki you so much, great and simple video! judging for the sheets, the bed was for a kid, but, being myself a 6 ft tall, 200 pounds guy, I'd put an extra central beam with a couple of extra legs for better support if I make it for me.
Ive always wanted to build my own furniture 😍 am in need of a bed since mine broke lmao, so this is the first project although.... I will definitely be adding a beam in the middle too
I love it so much, I'm going to attempt to learn the tools needed, but would rather a partner who knows how to use these tools to build things 😢 , seriously, I have so many ideas 😊.
easy peacy bed frame other videos claim easy to build frames then come up woth bunch of toll not e eryone have readily available , been meaning to build a twin bed frame and this way its simple ans i can use a jig saw for sure ..thank you for this video
Thanks for sharing, do you mind to share the wood size if i want to make bed frame for 90x185cm? and using IKEA slated frame of 70x160 cm which i already have.
What would it be the measurements for a twin bed my daughter wants some like this also can I go to Home Depot and just asked them to cut it for me?? Do you know if you can rent equipment with them too???
It’s easier to measure your mattress since there are variances with mattress measurements. Some people like gaps around the inside to allow comforters to tuck in and some don’t. His design allows you to literally use a hand saw to cut the boards to length. Or ask a neighbor if they have a chop saw. Powered Hand saws are a bit dangerous if you don’t have the experience. 3pieces of - 2”x6”x8ft lumber 2 pieces of- 2x2x8ft. 4 cuts on the 2x6 for the sides and front and back and 2 cuts on the 2x2 for the inside support rails. But please use stainless steel screws, drywall screws break.
Thank you for the design idea. I'm on very limited budget. I'll have to check how much 2x6s are in my city. Philippines may be lower cost of living but it's not easy when unemployed. PS. Don't buy military cots or folding beds unless they're *Made in America* quality of material matters!!!
I dont suppose you could show me how to build an inclined bed frame. The head of the bed needs to be 7 inches (5 degree slope) taller than the foot of the bed. I am having a hard time wrapping my head around the angles of the side rails.
I made this today. I purchased two 10 foot 2x6 as it was cheaper than 3 8footers. Total was $41 US from Home Depot for boards and the heavy duty screws. I already had the 2 1/2" screws for the side rails. Ikea slats were $25 on Facebook marketplace and mattress was $40 also on FBM so all total. $106 USD for the new bed in my camp trailer
I am very thankful for the ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxbnOKZBE4evMO5V2vroHeCjq6d_MV6wJO that has been a tremendous help to me in building a perfect outdoor shed. I have been facing many challenges and difficulties for a long time, but this plan has guided me to correct the mistakes during the process. I am impressed by the projects and I express my gratitude to the creator of this collection of plans.

Awesome - thank you so much! I have minimal carpentry skills and appreciate the simplicity of this project. Thanks so much for the great step-by-step!

What do you mean by a center support beam? Please explain for the novice.

That was for a twin bed …I need for a double

Nicely done Dude!
Thanks much. Watched the video. Made the bed. Have an old antique bedroom set with odd dimensions and was able to use this to make it usable.

however fir those who don't have chisels, this way makes it easier
just chisel it ¿

You can google bed corner brackets and when you install them you can even use a flat head to make the holes.

By cutting the end boards at 42, do you end up with the mattress size of 39 x 75?
Would using 4 1/2 #8 structural screws be over kill? It’s hard to find the 3 1/2 at my hardware stores.
Awesome video buddy

Would this be a twin or a full size bed.

what kind of wood did you use to make it glow blue?
Just blue LED (i assume) lights put under the frame

Please tell me what are the dimensions in mm?

And you use dewalt... i like where this is going
Is this a queen size bed?
no it was for a twin bed.
For me the bed would be a bit too low to the floor, but the simple design is great for beginners. Superb.
Good sr
This needs a middle support also .it's gonna break
Where can I get quality 2x6's? the ones I got from home depot don't look anything like what you have.
Why did you stop making videos?
What is total budget to make this bed? Bro?
the low fee of about a thousand
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
he didnt even leave that driveway.
did he deliver that frame to his own place
This is not diy. You bought the most important part - slats. You did not make them.
