GlamFam Thanks for the video points well taken. Do you have a video on how to properly wash and moisturize hair that will give it a shine? Natural hair wash routine?
Great tips. I have one question. I am currently going through postpartum shedding 😩😢do you have any tips to help lessen the loss?? (I haven’t lost my edges, but lawd knows I’m scared I will)
Nickie Rasberry XD!! I almost peed my pants when he said that! It reminded me of a woman I once saw on the number 20 bus. Looked like she was gripped by the eyeballs her braids were so tight!
“Edgeless in Seattle” ... I CAN’T 😂. I LOVE you and your awesome videos!!! I just recently found you (binged watched your videos) and you’re now my FAVORITE UA-camr. You’re so knowledgeable, classy, yet you know when to throw in some petty 😂. Not to mention your perfect analogies! God bless you and your gorgeous family.
I too recently found him. I love him so much!! Love his wife and kids the whole package!! Love his Christianity “ hello kitty” cracks me up! I wish to move to Texas just so he can be my hair dresser. I started sending his videos to my friends.
When Linwood rolled his sleeve up...my ears came to attention! I found moisturization was the key for my hair growth. Those "protective styles" I no longer obsessed about. When I learned how to moisturize my hair ( thanks, Linwood) I don't have breakage or split ends.
Child yes about micros! I wore them & my hair got damaged due to stress on the edges & weight of the hair. Also, when they're in we don't want to wash it regularly because of what was spent on tbose braids (very, very wrong) & not tying it up. One more, don't leave them in too long! Thank you for the TRUTH!
THANK YOU!!!!!! I have been saying this for YEARS! But, since im not a hairstylist or gay, no one will listen. Its common sense. If you're not conditioning, cleaning and moisturizing your hair you are NOT protecting it!
Lately I have been doing two loose flat twists to the back tucked the ends inside the twists and wrap it up at night. I wash and moisturize then put it back up for the week. I switch the part around so it doesn't get thinned out. This has helped me so much. I have mid back length almost to waist.
I love this!!! My protective style is twisting my hair and slapping a wig on top of it!! With my hair if I twist it and leave it alone for 2 or 3 weeks it grows and its happy!! As long as it stays greased its good! I had to stop listening to these ppl telling me If we put grease on our hair we weren't real naturals. When I was young my mama did it and now that I do it my hair is much healthier!
I absolutely love your honesty! We as naturalists need to know how to take better care of our hair and how to better distinguish what's protective and what's not. I know I need my edges and ends.
LMAO! I so love your personality. They ain’t protecting nothing! Not they reputation, not they hair, not even the hair on them 6 kids they got while they said they was using protection. Proof they don’t know the meaning of or how to spell it. Every girl got 3 packs of barrettes on 1.35675 inches of hairrra. And the boys got beads on the .56 inches of cornrows. I pray for the Spirit of Protection to overflow in them Laud. Protect every strand of hairrra and COVER & SEAL every ovary going forward. We pray for no more breakage or ovulation. 🤪!
You have just stepped all over my toes. Lol, I broke all my hair off protective styling about 5 years ago. Now I know better. Trying to keep moisture is trying at times. But it's all worth it. Thank you so very much for sharing and be and stay blessed!
I love your videos. I often watch them at 2 times the normal speed to save time. Your facial expressions are HILARIOUS 😂 Keep the videos coming and Stay Glam!!
@Glamfam I am so glad I found your channel . So glad to see that you have a beautiful family , and love the way you t a l k , and funny wit and quips lol 😊
Awesome video I needed to see this I am on my hair growth journey AGAIN. This is no disrespect to Egytian stylist but the one I had caused damage to my hair and I had to get my shoulder length hair cut due to the damage and I been wearing box braids. This video Linwood is awesome it ANSWERED all my questions I had about protective styles. I am a Registered Nurse and I don't have a lot of time for myself to treat myself. The only thing that really I do for myself is get my hair done but I am kind of concerned to let another stylist do my hair because it was a stylist that damage my hair. Thats another reason I get braids because I am scared that another stylist will damage my hair. Linwood thank you for the awesome videos. Keep up the good work your fans appreciate them😊🙏
You're hilarious and shady🌴, but with love always😍😍😍. Love you and your family, the videos are informative. But I did want to know if the same applied to crocheted senegalese twists when it comes to tension?
Thank you so much for sharing this video I always tell my friends and loved ones you have to moisturize the hair and to wrap it for a protective hairstyle when your hair is dry and brittle yes your hair will break off and micro braids does put stress on the hair that's why lot of women don't have edges thank you so much I'm going to share your video👍
Thanks for setting me straight. I straight up thought that braids was a protective style 😊 Can you give some examples of actual protective styles? I like to keep my 5 year old's hair protected.
I didn’t think about adding Hair to you Hair as damaging. I did think about the hair being added as being dry and taking away from the moisture you put on your hair!! But thank you!! Video was very much needed.
Hi Linwood, I’m looking for a video about how to protect the hair under a wig. I’m sure you have one, but I’m struggling to find it. I want to be sure I understand how to maintain the natural hair before wig application. Thank you. You know I love you, Boo.
Please Please Please do a video on micro links and fusion links. I have short hair that I'm growing out, I no longer get braids because no matter what my edges don't handle them well, so I'm looking into styles that leave my edges out (including sew-ins and quick weaves). I've been researching these "link" styles because I've FINALLY got my moisture balance and routine down and I believe I can manage them.
I honesty do protect my hair and scalp. I moisturize like hell before I style. I heart braid my edges and also broad at least a half inch away from my hair so that I can wear the infamous pony tail. I try to leave leverage so I can move. a little lazy with the hair wrapping because I'm a hard sleeper.
Hey Linwood most people that do any kind of braid is either not willing or can't afford to keep there hair done on a weekly basis. Please give those of us some help with hair maintenance when your hair is thin. Thanks dear cuz Im trying to stay Glam fam😅
TRUE!!!!!!!! OMG I am so in love with you LOL... because all that you said, I am like YESSSS! Tell us the Truthhhh! Cause we need it. Its like we can't discern what is good and what is bad for our hair. And there are a lot of people who thing that certain styles are really that protective. And I had a lot of discussions with people about this topic. So thank youuuuuuu for doing this.
Yesssss!!!! Thank you for addressing that. They had me confused before I came on to GlamFam. Some FB clips say it and I'm like "that looks like they just popped 10 strands braiding it." Unh unh!! We luv u Linwood 💞
Thank you, thank you, Linwood. So glad you clarified all the confusion on this subject. I'm crying........(like having a roof over your childs head but haven't fed them in 3 weeks.) :):);):):)
"The whole truth and nothing but the truth." Thank you for clearing up that for me. There is so much information on the internet it can become difficult to know what hair information is beneficial and what is harmful.
Was just watching videos of protective styling and found aout that mini braids and twists were the best...now am so stressed out on what am going to do to my hair after seeing your video. Haha..u are so funny and i couldn't stop laughing 😂😂😂😂 but please help me out on what i should do to my 4c hair since i have no idea of what am protecting!??😂😂
OMG! I was all in my feelings when u mentioned Senegalese twists! I wanted to tell you to shut up............. THEN...... You explained why it isn't protective and i had an aha moment. This makes so much sense. Why didn't i think of this? I;ve been stressing my hair with these brains... so would crochet be protective if you're pushing the needles through the braids which can cause friction and breakage? Kinky Twists would be a better option then, seeing that the marley/afrokinky hair is much lighter than kanekalon? YOU HAVE ME QUESTIONING EVERYTHING NOW!
Now...can I get a whoop, whoop on that?! Linwood, you explained what a protected hairstyle is well because these other video demos were outta control falsifying things (and yes people, I know that's not a word)!😊 I know I'm not the sharpest knife in the drawer, but I couldn't watch them anymore. Like you asked..."What are you protecting?" 😄😄

You're hilarious and shady🌴, but with love always😍😍😍. Love you and your family, the videos are informative. But I did want to know if the same applied to crocheted senegalese twists when it comes to tension?
Crochet twists are fine, so long as your base braids aren’t too tight. 😊
Thank you so much for watching!
GlamFam Ok thanks...and you're welcome.
My pleasure dear!
Very helpful and jovial too lmbo
Thanks so much for the lesson. Really appreciate your expertise!
My pleasure!
Your info is very helpful so thank you
Thank you so much for sharing this video I always tell my friends and loved ones you have to moisturize the hair and to wrap it for a protective hairstyle when your hair is dry and brittle yes your hair will break off and micro braids does put stress on the hair that's why lot of women don't have edges thank you so much I'm going to share your video👍
Linwood, these analogies got me 🤣 but you came through with some great info. I ain’t tryna be edgeless in Seattle or nowhere else!

Can you demonstrate some protective styles please.

Lol, I love your honesty & play on words! Great job sir !
Thank you dear! I greatly appreciate you!
Whenever I've heard that term I've often wondered what exactly was being protected.
Love them!
Thanks Linwood, knowledge is power.
My joy dear! Thanks for watching!
Love this!!
Thanks!!
You are so on point! I find whenever I put twist extension in my hair, it breaks more n my hair is very dry. We are really not protecting anything.
Exactly!
Hey Linwood most people that do any kind of braid is either not willing or can't afford to keep there hair done on a weekly basis. Please give those of us some help with hair maintenance when your hair is thin. Thanks dear cuz Im trying to stay Glam fam😅
