Freshman in high school interested in joining the academy. This is really interesting and helpful, so thank you.
Mr. Caine ay same, hope to see you there!
Thanks for the support!!!
Mr. Caine Me too! These videos are really helpful!
Hey me too. I want to major in legal studies 😂
Same here! I have already talked to a recruiter and I'm about to contact a USAFA admissions advisor lol. Good luck.
Hearing smart people talk is pretty cool
Cam, I am a Dad in Kansas city who will be taking his beloved daughter to I-Day on June 27th. Yikes! Your videos have been SO helpful for both of us and I simply felt compelled to say Thank You! Keep up the great work! You are making a positive impact in a lot of lives...Lance
Best of luck to your daughter!! Thank you so much for the support.
Shout out to the theater kid😀
Check out Falcon Theater Foundation
I was just accepted into the academy last week. I was nervous about going, but I watched a few of your videos and it has helped a lot, and I thank you for that
If you don’t mind me asking what was your GPA and SAT score?
@@joelmathew1715 my GPA was 3.8, and I took the act and got a composite score or 33
This actually really helped me with what my path for getting in the airforce academy and my major thank you soo much
Thank you so much for watching !
I know that it doesn’t really matter right now, but I’m a freshman in high school and I really want to be a pilot in the AF and watching your videos is helping me understand so much about USAFA. Thank you. You have no idea how much your helping😁
Aww thank you so much that means a lot !!!
Hey I just started considering going to USAFA (Freshman in High School), your channel has really given me a good idea of what it’s like there! I really enjoy playing sports and I was wondering how you got recruited as an athlete and how that changed your application process
Griffin Phillips I’m getting recruited to play football at USAFA and they told me to go to the prep school I need a 3.0 gpa good math and science grades and at least a 20 in all of the subjects on the act but if you are trying to go direct you’ll need at least like a 26 on the ACT
ashlon williams appreciate the response. Good luck to you in both football and the Air Force
I was recruited through club tournaments. And yes admittance to the prep school versus direct requires different scores. For most recruited athletes you get “blue chipped” which streamlined the application process/allows the coaches to help you !
Great to see a prior 'E' on your panel. So wish I had taken advantage of the opportunities for enlisted to go to AFA or Prep school back when I was in.
This sounds amazing:) I am top of my class and I am in just about every sport. I am going to contact an admissions adviser for any questions I may have. Thank you for making these videos! I now have a smaller list of questions to ask lol. I am really excited because my recruiter was able to set up coming to my school and talk to kids about the Air Force this Monday!
"We've got smart, well-rounded people to answer all of your questions."
Good because I'm dumb and chaotic and need a lot of help.
Can you do a vid explaining your recruitment, love ur vids
Been waitin for dis
All of your videos are very informative! Especially for Athletes!
Notification Squad!! 🎉
This was in my recommended and I just subscribed!!!👍🏾
Thanks so much for subscribing! happy to have you here :)
Bright futures all you have love the channel, thank you all for your service and sacrifice.
Thanks for all the videos they’re interesting. Pls do a food video, I’m coming on June 27th and I’m scared of the food, thx
The Nomination process is stressing me out lol
Same lol
Did ya get in?
@@aphii8203 I had gotten the nomination, but unfortunately I did not get accepted. I went with plan B and I'm currently in AFROTC. With everything that happened since last year, I am a believer that things happen with good reason.
If you're looking to apply, don't put all your eggs in one basket!
@@ttk_underated4175 Thanks for the advice! I’m starting to prepare extra early so I hope it gives me a good chance of getting in.
when Reel It In plays on repeat 😂
Tyler Vu it slaps
Please make a video on the proper form (like for the pushups, situps...) for the six components of the candidate fitness test🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
Hi! I actually made a Cadet Fitness Assessment video pretty recently I'll link it down ua-cam.com/video/-Rb4cTSlTc8/v-deo.html
Nice video, very helpful, would it be possible for you to do another one anytime soon?
how many years of service are you required to do after you graduate? Love your videos! The USAFA is my dream school!
Zoe Caple 5 years minimum! But it could be anywhere up to 10 if you go pilot
Hey Cambria, I’m glad I found your channel, your videos are enjoyable. I didn’t understand what Dye was saying about medical school slots. Can you apply and get into a medical school but not receive a medical school slot from the Academy? Do the slots refer to the amount of people who are permitted to apply to a medical school? Or do the slots refer to reserved seats in the USUHS intended specially for Academy students. Once you earn the slot and get in, do you have to sign a new contract with different required obligations? Thanks for the info.
I finished up my freshman year of high school this year, and I am very interested in going to the AFA. What should I start doing to prepare and get the best chance of being accepted. Grades shouldnt be a problem for me, as I have always been a straight A student. Are there any clubs or activities I could be doing that will look good on a resume? Unfortunately, my high school doesnt have an ROTC program, even though there are 1000+ students. Thanks for any advice you can give me!
Ayyy same!!! I’m also an incoming sophomore that’s interested in AFA. My school doesn’t have ROTC programs but I’m currently in a air force program called Civil Air Patrol. It focuses on aeronautical education and gives you the opportunity to get you your pilots license. It’s pretty cool, definitely recommend.
@@bingus2929 I've heard of CAP and been around them at Oshkosh. I wont need to do it for the liscnece part, as my dad was an instructor in the ANG and is still certified to teach. I'm probably going to solo in our Piper J3 Cub. What else does the CAP offer/would it be beneficial for getting in?
@@bingus2929 hahah I love the fact that the only video on your channel is the funniest part from penguinz0 Glory Hole Repair video 🤣
Both my parents went to the academy and from their experiences I can say that it isn’t worth the hardships unless your extremely passionate about the military or you don’t have any funds to go to college. That’s why I want to go the ROTC route at Purdue because there is more flexibility.
biggest thing i can say is as an officer listen to your airman, NCO's. they're out in the field and handle lot of out of office work. They have great idea's, they see things in a different perspective other than within an office. being CE(electrical) I see it time and time again where we have to handle a work task or job and the planning barely even touches our shop and everything is backwards because we didn't get much say in howit should be done.
oh...and Derek needs a haircut. hahaha
What athletic teams are each of the people on in this video? I really want to go to USAFA but the only sport I do I fencing and I’m worried I won’t be athletic enough
I know a few fencers! And jay played baseball and my other two friends are just students but are heavily involved in other things!
I’ve been so interested in the academy, I’ve done a lot of research and not sure what to think. I don’t have the best grades in the world, but they aren’t terrible at all. And I’m only a junior at the moment and have only taken the ACT once. What do you think is the minimal my GPA has to be to be competitive to be accepted ? If I play a lot of sports and have a lot of varsity letters and volunteers time , does that really help if my grades aren’t the best ?
You need to have at least around a 3.7 gpa and have at least like a 1200ish SAT score I think
Hi Cambria! I love your videos so much and I was wondering, what is your major at USAFA?
I’m a political science major!
Do you have to do sports? Or do you not have to and it’s just better if you do?
you make great videos
I'll be attending the Summer Seminar in a couple of weeks and my application for the school is under consideration. I play basketball and I am coming off of an injury from a couple of months ago. I was wondering do you have to be recruited to play the intercollegiate sports such as basketball and/or track ?
You do have to be recruited for intercollegiate but some teams allow walk ins and all club sports are open to all cadets !
When do you find out what your specific job will be after graduating?
Jobs usually drop during your senior year! You start medical clearance and training for jobs as soon as your sophomore year though!
Hey I'm a freshman in highschool this is really helpful and a helpful motivator. I do have one question though. How hard is it to become a fighter pilot for the Airforce.
Hi! So I honestly don’t know what the fighter pilot pipeline looks like right now but the best way to get a pilot slot in general is thru USAFA!
@@cambrialenee7434 Thank You!
Great video! 2 questions,
1. What do the patches above Derek and Jay’s left breast pocket mean?
2. If I wanted to go to Med School through USAFA, you mentioned 18 slots is a soft number, subject to change, firstly what changes that number, the number of people who qualify or the needs of the Air Force and will I be directly competing with other cadets for a spot? If I have a medical school acceptance but they do not choose me what happens?
Thank you for these great videos and all your help. Pulling for class of ‘26!
1. Jays are for completing the summer jump program ! And Derek was a prior enlisted firefighter !
2. The medical school slots / acceptance are very year dependent but usually if you are accepted into a medical school USAFA allows you to go !
Cambria Lenee that’s a big relief, I’d love to go there, keep up the good work!
How is Derrick's enlisted to academy experience going? Interested on doing the same thing.
Do you have to go to college before going to the Air Force academy? Or do you go after high school?
You can apply between ages 17 and 23 so no, its after high school.
I want to go the USAFA and study legal studies. Because I want to be in the Air Force but I dont want to fly planes/ I dont want anything to do with planes. Would the schooling be different? And is basic cadet training the same for every major?
Basic training is the same for everyone. And legal studies is a Major here! Everyone is required to take a bunch of core science classes regardless of their major though (because you graduate with a bachelors of science). So someone like me who is a political science major still has to take classes like chem, physics, engineering, and Astro.
@@cambrialenee7434 Oh okay thank you so much.
@@cambrialenee7434 is there BSN?
Just a question: can you apply for special ops after graduation?? Or is it too early for it?? Loved your video, really helpful💖💖👍
Yes! You technically can apply while at the academy and go directly into that training upon graduation. Thanks for the support!
Hi Cam! I’m trying to decide if the Academy is for me, and I was wondering... is there anything that you feel like you are missing out on by not going to a regular college? Is there anything you know now that may have made you change your mind about going to college here?
Thanks!
There is the rare occasion that I feel like I’m missing out on the “college party scene” but I know that the benefits of the academy outweigh those rare occasions. I’d say the academy is a different type of fun. They put you in programs over the summer that really push you and force you to get to know people. I don’t think I’d have the same type of relationship with my classmates at any other school! There’s honestly nothing that would change my mind. You’re surrounded by great people, instructors who care, and have a college experience like any other!
Unlike any *
11:45 Fly, Fight, Win‼️😂
Did you go to the Summer Seminar before you got in?
I did not ! But I visited the Academy twice and did a lot of tours/talking to cadets.
just realized u gotta serve after the academy
Is joining air force academy good for become an airline pilot? or is it possible to become an airline pilot after air force academy?
Hi! USAFA is a great pipeline if you want to be an airline pilot. If you receive a pilot slot after graduation you will first have to serve 10 years as an Air Force pilot before the possibility of going to the airlines!
If I join the Air Force guard am I still able to go to the academy?
Edward Pierce late response but probably not because because the Air Force academy requires at least a 4 year active duty commitment after completion
*heyyyy, found my filmora editing buddy* 😂😂
How can I PM you about my daughter?
Please never stop making videos ❤️❤️
Not stopping anytime soon !
Does the USAF offer a Dental Hygiene program ?
Do you get to pick your career or do you get assigned? Also can you major in phycology
You put in preferences for jobs as earlier as your sophomore year! The closest thing to Psychology would be a Behavioral Science major here at USAFA!
Cambria Lenee Thank you so much for the help!
What should I major in if I want to be a pilot
You can major in anything !
I’d say just do what interests you the most ( you can figure that out by seeing which core classes you like the most)
What do I need to do to prepare myself physically for the academy?
I’d say the biggest things to prepare for are pushups and cardio !
Do you go to basic after or before the academy
You start training in the summer before the fall semester starts
What’s the best major if u want to be a fighter pilot?
Honestly doesn’t matter. I’m on the rotc side and if we look at last years pilot selectees, more were non tech than tech majors. Tech major meaning stem like engineering, math, etc. So just try to excel at whatever you study and keep a high gpa to be competitive. Although the academy does have a different process for selections so look into that.
Sparkling Ice is 🔥🔥🔥
Hello is it to late for a senior to get in. 3.9 gpa 24 act will be ranked 2nd in graduating class
All of you are very pretty people.
Is pharmacy school considered in part of medical school?
And do you still owe service requirements?
Yes you would still owe service recruitments for pharmacy school !
I’m not quite sure if they have pharmacy slots directly out of the Academy but I’ll ask around.
The guy behind has a much better communication skill
Can you minor in Spanish even if I speak it proficiently already?
What if you come from a canadian school? If i were to obtain my us citizenship would it matter that im from canada?
Is the academy the only way to become a pilot
No look into afrotc and ots. These are alternatives to the academy. Both produce lots of pilots
Do you guys get paid an enlisted rank equivalent to your cadet rank?
Yes!
Technically it’s based off of class year though because sometimes higher ranks are available within classes.
I want to join the us air force academy and I don't to how to join
Will the air force let you in if you have bipolar disorder?
They provide waivers for many conditions. Look into it before calling it quits
When did you decide you wanted to go too the academy and when did you start training?
I decided as a sophomore in high school ! And I did two sports in highschoool so I mostly just worked on pushups and pull-ups before coming !
They all look thrilled to be in your dorm. 😆
Liked the video
I didn't get accepted in the Academy unfortunately but I am thinking of enlisting and applying through the LEAD program.
From Iraq 😉😉😉😉😉 love you
So if you play a sport such as lacrosse when would you bring your equipment to the air Force academy, such as my stick and my helmet etc. Also are you allowed to have those items in your room?
Most coaches have you put it in storage or keep it at their house ! If you have practice during basic then it will most likely be in storage by your locker room.
Can I get in with ADHD? can you please help me!
I’m hungry
There's your real hair
*and idk what all the hate in the comments below are about, probably bitter babies. 😂 not everybody can get into USAFA, and I appreciate you responding to all the comments, I see you👀* what major/job do you want?
I’m currently a political science major hoping to go pilot!
@@cambrialenee7434 girl I'm so excited for you!! following(:
Should have joined the army just saying lol but good luck to all you of you at the academy
What was your female friend's major? Sounded like "B Sign" or "Visa." What software do you edit with? I used Premiere and Vegas.
I see you have M16s sometimes. Several colors I think. When I was there we had M1 rifles with part made of wood which was cool. A two degree over me when I was a Smack was issued a riffle with initials carved into it by his own grandfather from the Korean War. Pretty cool. Firstie year they switched to M16 which were plastidipped in black rubber. Felt like a "rubber ducky/gumby" army. I was told a rumor which may or may not be true about the M1s. Apparently one cadet put a firecracker down the barrel and then dropped in a metal pen. Sadly he used ti to commit suicide. So they filled the barrels with led. The rumor is that the big mural painting in Fairchild Hall has a section showing that cadet. Probably not true but I've seen the painting and would believe it is that was the artist's intent. Another fun caft about Fairchild Hall is that that is where cadets stood as the last humans to fight the space alien invasion in Battlefield Earth. The book was remarkably good. Let's pretend the movie doesn't exist. Later in the book I believe they mounted a new army to defeat the aliens. Good times. I'd like to make a movie about USAFA one day. Not sure it would be wise. Interesting place....
Behavioral science !
The guy on the left is super pretty. I thought he was a woman with a short haircut.
Whats up with the name tag?
Each cadet has a name tag with their class year on it! It’s for class distinction and helps the four degrees greet.
@@cambrialenee7434 I see. I did AFROTC, we didn't even get any uniform until we went to Maxwell AFB lol!
Tbh I can't decide if I want to go here or go to West Point. Can anybody shed some light?
Both are very different experiences but in the end either one will be very rewarding !
Troy Calhoun said it best.
Wanna shoot guns, ride in tanks, and do badass stuff? West Point.
Wanna ride around in a boat, launch missiles, and shoot planes off a carrier? Annapolis.
Wanna be apart of the world's greatest Air Force, fly planes, drop bombs, and have a job lined up when you become a civilian? Air Force Academy.
Should've joined the Army.
Poor kids, they don't even know.

Soccer Unbox TV don’t hate air force the most reliable branch
@@Ikefilmzz reliable for what? Having the easiest pt standards? For having the most desk jobs? For having AC that always works?
@@soccerunboxtv5771 They have easier PT standards because they use their brains a lot more than any of the other branches. That's why it's called the smartest branch of the armed forces. The other branches of the military usually encounter direct combat awhile the Air Force is more of a behind the front doing fire support missions and transporting troops to and from the battlefield.
I remember watching this video after my daughter got an appointment to USAFA. I came across a FB advertisement that has your video as the front page. Im just giving you a heads up before the AF makes this a big deal. Here is the FB advertisement link. facebook.com/708312016279622/posts/731357877308369?sfns=mo
AkA KiD thank you so much ! Working to get it taken down!
AFA has turned into an SJW summer camp. God help us 20 years from now.
Great, more future butter-bars to mess with and shoo away while we actually get shit done.
please tell me you are not future Officers in the USAF. You all will require retraining once you enter the USAF. you would do fine in the Navy but not the USAF. Don't worry, the grumpy SNCOs will take care of you. Then, in a couple of years you will all cringe at how dorky this video is.
They all seem like great people that anyone would be proud to follow. What exactly do you see that’s not USAF officer material out of them? Just curious.
The academy produces great officers. Keep in mind these are young adults getting to experience life on their own for the first time. Air Force cadets can be much sharper and diligent than the average college student. They will certainly be ready to lead when they graduate
