First game I played was pokemon diamond, and I still remember my team. Turtwig, starly, staravia, shinx, shinx, and Bidoof. And no this isn't a joke, I was seven and I was an idiot, who didn't finish the game
It's always refreshing to watch your gen 3 team videos, even if it's not meant to be competitive. I started my pokemon journey with sapphire and you added a whole lot to it, so I thought to take a moment and thank you for being a crucial part of my pokemon adventure. Thanks Mystic Umbreon!!!

I am working on my Home living dex and I'm on Gen 3 rn. This video was perfectly timed for me as I still need to finish Ruby and Sapphire for their version exclusives. Love to see another team video man. Quality content as always!
As a pokemmo player, and fan of yours it would be really cool to see you do a mix of generations “best team” maybe taking 2 generations and building a best team!

I just started playing Emerald again just a couple weeks ago and I’m glad I did because I guess I didnt play it a lot as a kid. I don’t quite remember the story. This video came out at the perfect time and I think I might sub a couple of these onto my team.
A favorite Hoenn team of mine was my most recent one, in Emerald. The team consisted of Sceptile, Gardevoir, Tentacruel, Camerupt, Skarmory and SHINY Belossom. Yeah, full odds shiny, in gen 3. I was blown away too.
Despite the grass type overlap, and a few underwhelming species, this team ended up being pretty strong. We even did a number on the Battle Frontier (with help from a Latios, admittedly). Very fond memories with this team, I won't soon forget these mons
A shiny in Emerald is special as well, that game has broken RNG :o Congrats
Great timing. I came across this video today as I am starting another Emerald run. I call this playthrough the "D--khead" run. When you see my team, you'll know why.
Here is my "D--khead" team (All 3 Neutral nature with emphasis on ATK/SP. Atk):
1. Swampert
Return, Earthquake, Ice-Beam and Surf
2. Sableye (nicknamed D--khead)
Fake-out, Shadow Ball, Detect and Faint Attack
3. Breloom
Giga Drain, Brick Break, Toxic and Leech-Seed

The sceptile you have is slightly younger than the Ruby Blaziken I have from 2003, who is now in my Violet version
Im in a playthrough of emerald as well! My current team is lairon, swellow, machamp, grovyle, tentacruel, and zigzagoon. I havent used swellow or the aron line in a hoenn run since emerald first came out, it's been interesting using them again!
Its one of my favorite things to do in Pokémon runs! Just grab anywhere from 2 - 4 Pokémon you never used and complete the game with them. Im currently running through Leaf Green and I'm using Sandslash, Starmie, and Ninetails because I simply never have before and I like the design on all of them.
Funny enough i was planning to try emerald on the suggestion of my friends

My very first Hoenn run had both Kadabra and Tentacruel, it was a pretty solid team, but I do recommend you Ice Beam and Surf for Tentacruel (Toxic if you do competitive) and Psychic, Shadow Ball and an elemental Punch for Kadabra

My first game was Gold.
I have a Blaziken from Emerald, he is my oldest Pokémon. In RSE I made a living dex, then to FRLG, DPP, & HGSS by then I was pretty much caught up. I still have those mons & have kept adding to the living dex through the years.
I've never actually played through Emerald since the only Gen 3 Hoenn game I owned was Sapphire and my most memorable Sapphire team is the first team that helped me beat Steven and actually complete the game (during my first few Sapphire playthroughs I would get stuck or just decide to start over for whatever reason so I used to reset the game before completing it).
Eventually I was able to beat Sapphire and the team I did it with was: Blaziken, Crobat, Aggron, Claydol, Cacturne and Wailord.
Gen 2 is my favorite as well with 3 in a tight second as well. Definitely my longest playthroughs, especially Gold, Sapphire and LeafGreen
YOO I NAMED MY BLAZIKEN MCKICKIN TOO! Pokemon ruby was technally the first pokemon game i've ever played (it was on emulator but I still count it). Blaziken was technally the first mon i've ever used, and I named him McKicken (a bit diferent but same name premise). He has a moveset of flamethrower, brick break, aerial ace and overheat. He kicked a lot of butt.

I’ve always enjoyed Gen III. I’m actually wrapping up a Nuzelock (grinding a few levels out on Victory Road) in Emerald. I’m running Swampert, Walrein, Electrode, Crobat, Torkoal, and Claydoll. I’m more likely than not going to be fighting an uphill battle in the Elite 4 but it’s been fun regardless.
First team in ruby back in 2004 was Blaziken, Crawdaunt, Breloom, Claydol, Glalie and Dusclops.
I've probably used just about every Hoenn mon at least once.
My first OR team from last year was Hariyama, Shedinja, Froslass, Skarmory, Garchomp and Dragalge. Played through it so many times I don't use the starter anymore.
My first and only emerald team (which I got in high school and still have) is cracked. Umbreon, Tyranitar, Milotic, Skarmory, Forretress and Shedinja. I traded over an Eevee from fire red. Have so many other good mons on there. Latios, Lapras, Venosaur, Gardevoir, Salamence, Steelix, Scizor, Flygon, Swampert, so many more since it has all my best from Fire red too
Ah yes, good old tentacruel. All the way from gen 1 to now still one of my favorites.❤

I’m playing through emerald rn and breloom with bulk up and mach punch completely carries the early game so much that I had to box it for awhile because it made the game seem to easy

When my friends and I learned about the battle frontier duplication glitch in emerald we spent hours upon hours making copies of pokemon lol I think I had a box of just mewtwos

Emerald is my first Pokémon game that I’ve played. I wish Pokémon games like Emerald would be ported to the Nintendo Switch. But with some different changes such as buying multiple copies of a tm that isn’t bought at places like the Lilycove Department Store & Game Corner.
My gen 6 team may be my favorite ever they were so good. Greninja goodra venusaur heliolisk aegislash slyveon. This team was a terror in triple battles too
8:49 As someone who really tried to make a Cacturne work in a run of Pokémon Violet, I’ve got to say I just hope Haise works out for you in Gen 3, because all I got in Gen 9 was disappointment quickly replaced by Wo-Chien the moment I could.

Double Kick is surprisingly good. I prefer it to Brick Break. I love how each hit can crit separately.
The feeling of losing your cherished pokemon games is an insane one. When I was about the same age, my dogs got hold of my original copy of pokemon diamond, which was both action replayed to have a full shiny dex while also having all my og mons from my gen 3 games, including the only level 100 i ever had legitimately (rayquaza from sapphires first save) and my level 93 kyogre i caught in a mcdonalds on the way to my grand dads funeral (also og save).
Then even worst a year or 2 later dogs got my original copy of black. And that had all my shinies/event pokemon. I sniped the even celebi for hgss while driving passed gamestop because my dad was mad at me and didnt want to reward me with a stop at game stop. The three shiny dogs. And a shiny crobat and steelix random encounters. Legit still so upset to this day about it.
Yea ruby was my first game, my first team was blaziken, swellow, mightyena, flygon, manectric, and gyrados.

My team for emrald was Blaziken, Crobat (later replaced by Salamance in late game b4 facing E4), Starmie, Vileplume, Wallarien, and zigzagoon as HM salve was replaced by Metagross in post game

Swampert, Tropius, Zangoose, Camerupt, Claydol, and Manetric was my most memorable run. I too am a gen 2 is best lover but Ruby and Safire saw a ton of play. Hands down Crystal on its own had the most play, Yellow was third because Gen three was so good.

Emerald is also the game I had played the most out of all of them , in fact I’m playing it again right now 😭 I just beat Roxanne, this is definitely my favorite game in the franchise (Sun/Moon coming close second)
I recently learned my childhood copy is gone as well and I don't think I'll ever get over it. I bought another cart to replace it but it doesn't fill that void 😔
that blaziken name is like my naming scheme in gen 5. i always use emboar and hes been named, smithfield, hatfield, mesquite, chicharon, babyback, and any other pork related name i could think of as a meat cutter lol.

My team for a Hoenn Playthrough would be 1, Secptile 2, Swellow 3, Pikachu 4, crawdaunt 5, Glalie 6, Torkoal a fully evolved verison of Ash’s Hoenn Team with Pikachu as the exception and so extras for situations 7, Gardevoir 8, Flygon 9, Absol.

My emerald team has always been blaziken, gyarados, gardevoir, aggron, flygon, salamence. I did replace flygon with manectric in some of my replays.

I also love using Ludicolo, Hariyama, Sabeleye, Pelipper, Cacturne, Flygon, Altaria, Zangoose, and walrein! So many fun evolutions in hoenn and such a wide pokedex. My fav region of all time and my favorite early dex to nuzlocke for for all the diversity
Manteric is a must for me in any playthrough of emerald. Once you get it from Watson manteric is a beast.
