why not having protect instead of surf ? Swampert has a decent/good special attack but it is a physical attacker. Having Waterfall is better, physical, 100% acc, stab, 80 damage. It's better. Protect is good to prevent Grass Type attacks.
I'd rather give the eq TM to flygon Mud shot is only 5 base power lower than dig in gen 3, and it lowers speed, meaning swampert has a good chance to outspeed next turn. Once your swampert gets to level 52, replace it with earthquake no problem. Flygon needs EQ to be powerful. Dog just doesn't cut it.
You can still give it Earthquake but I think he just didn't want to repeat moves. Also swampert and flygon in a tag battle can use Earthquake and levitate together
I wonder if you could make those "can best team of X gen beat gen Y" again. I found them pretty cool and although most pokémon can't be found in another gen. It would still be fun to see how well would each team do in a completely alien region.

Its still stab tho , poison isn't resisted by many types , and with stab sludge bomb transforms from a base 90 attack to a base 135 attack . I do agree that wing attack should be replaced with shadow ball tho . Giga drain should be used on cradily tho
@@conansglasses2645 I consider it "very bad" only. Its almost under 70. Giga Drain has only 60 power so with a special attack of 70, you won't be able to do much damage with Giga Drain and since little damage would be done, Crobat won't gain much HP either.
I would suggest Magneton for this team as its a great special attacker with a solid dual typing that makes it wall most of the E4 and you get it right before the 6th gym, I would replace Cradily with it.

I've used it before so I may be biased but Swellow is a great mon. A glass cannon for sure but can put in work. Nature's don't matter much ingame, but if you're willing to put the time in I would say go Adamant for the power boost, as Swellow is speedy anyway, and use a set of Aerial Ace, Facade, Steel Wing and whatever fourth move you want. You also get Tailow pretty early and it can come in on grass types :).
If you hold off of evolving marshtomp into swampert until level 45 or level swampert to level 52 then you’ll get earthquake without using tm 26 so you use that tm for another team
I'd replace Flygon or Crobat on this team with Skarmory. Skarm has no physical weakness, 2 immunities and cant be one shot even by STAB fire blast when you EV it right. Whirlwind, Spikes, Toxic and Rest. Combined with Swampert (give him protect or roar so he can stall too) and leech seeder like Cradilly, Venusaur etc you basically got a stall team that can heal itself and also dish out serious damage with just 3 pokemon. The others you choose are up to you. Really great if your trying to win without using healing items self imposed or battle frontier.
Im playing sapphire right now. I have Swampert with the same movepool except waterfall. I added Golduck for that so Swampert can have Muddy Water, a powerful move that also lowers accuracy so he can have some added effects going on in avoiding hits.
Swampert Alakazam Skarmory Cacturne Heracross Rayquaza With “No Restrictions” this is a much better team. The egg moves Skarmory has alongside the no physical/special split make him an MVP. Having Rayquaza over Flygon is a no brainer, Heracross is entirely better than Machamp with all of the coverage and dual typing, Cacturne benefits with the no Physical/Special split as well and is probably the best grass Pokémon in GenIII.
I initially had Heracross on my best team too but decided to replace him with Machamp since Heracross cannot be caught until after beating Norman. I'd choose Gardevoir over Alakazam since Gardevoir can learn imprison which combined with psychic is vital for taking down Tate and Liza without doing any extra grinding. I would also replace another of your members with an electric pokemon.

for gen 3 this is the team I used: Blaziken, Gardevoir, Altaria, Sharpedo, Aggron and Dusclops imo I really enjoyed using this team and I plan to play Ruby next soon as I've never played it, only played sapphire and emerald, there are also many other good pokemon that you could use like Manectric, Hariyama, Salamance, Crobat and Flygon(last 2 being mentioned in the vid) overall I think that this team in the video is really good but always remember u can change it up a bit too :))
sharpedo has weak defence stats in my opinion Normally i use swampert for starter teach water ground and ice moves and use manetric or flygon or salamence for fire type moves my best starter swampert water ground and ice moves give nevermeltice vigoroth (give everstone to not evolve slaking) sableye dark and ghost type and also learn psychic give black glasses salamence dragon pokemon teach flamethrower or fire blast give quickclaw to strike first breloom grass and fighting teach sunnyday solarbeam and sludge bomb if you hit sunny day first solarbeam will strike imediatly shiftry is my HM slave (learn flash cut rock smash and strenght)
Personally, I would say the best team for these games is(using Swampert) Swampert, Breloom, Gardevoir, Skarmory, Flygon and Absol. I don't wanna make this too long with movesets etc but if anyone wants me to add them let me know! This is just my opinion, of course, "best team" is entirely up to the users point of view.
Wouldn’t flygon pretty much be covering pretty much the same Pokémon as Swampert? Both are ground types and there’s only Kingdra to worry about when it comes to super effective damage against dragons. But can still take plenty of neutral damage from other types with no issues like what we need to do with Clair in gen 2
After finding Inclement Emerald, I don’t know if I could ever go back to OG emerald. IE just makes everything too convenient and painless when it comes to progressing through the game (scaling levels, nature changer, streamlined EV and IV training, physical/special split, expanded Pokédex, etc.) Now, if Mystic were to come out with a best team for IE, then I’d be super down!
You can get the brick brick tm as soon as you beat tate and liza. The guy who gives you the brick break tm in sootopolis city will already give it to you if you dive in and get to circumference as soon as you beat tate and liza
I personally think blaziken or sceptile is the go to starter. Only cause fire types is this game there is a pretty gap between what you can get and the starter. Water is a dime a dozen. Having a flygon give you ground as well. And if you go with sceptile get rid of cradilly for agron win win lol
Fire types aren’t very good in Hoenn, so there’s no loss there. Aggron also kind of sucks in Gen 3 since it has terrible STAB moves. There may be a number of water types, but are we really going to say that Azumarill or Gyarados are better water types without the physical/special split?
Crobat has been my go-to flyer for gen 3/4 games for the last few years. The friendship evolution makes it very satisfying to earn while you're going through the games ❤

I had a crobat at level 55, when I was doing the Cave of Origin mission i ran into a Shiny zubat lvl 32 with Brave nature. I had to re-train him till Crobat evolution coz shiny Crobat is soooo pretty 😍😍😍

You forgot: Breloom w/ Effect Spore (the only Ability it had until Poison Heal) & Leftovers or a Black Belt - Spore (Shroomish learns it @ level 54) - Substitute (Move Tutor) or Iron Tail (TM 23) - Mach Punch (level 23) or Iron Tail - Focus Punch (TM 01) That’s a faaaaaaar better choice than Machamp since Spore is 100% Sleep chance that allows you to set up or switch out to something better. With Sub Focus Punch, you’re GUARANTEED to OHKO a vast majority of Pokémon you’ll encounter in the games. Even in Competitive, it was an absolute nightmare to deal with once it got set up. Fighting-type moves have ridiculous amounts of neutrality and hit very hard against what it’s Super Effective on. Also, since Spore is a get-out-of-jail-free card against flying Pokémon, you can always switch in something that would otherwise give it a problem (Ghost and Flying types). It is AN ABSOLUTE WALL AND STALL BREAKER It’s pretty depressing to see how far it had fallen since…
You’ve gotta be on shrooms if you think using an unevolved Pokémon until the end of the game just so you can get Spore is a good idea. You’re also waiting for quite a while for a Black Belt from rematches and the Leftovers are in the postgame. And Iron Tail? No STAB, 75 accuracy and only strong against rock and ice types which Breloom already covers with STAB fighting moves that are stronger? While you could argue that this team could be better, your recommendation is downright awful.
@@yorecf9641 ehhhhh not really. People seem to forget that you can leave Pokémon in the Daycare for as long as you want to basically level them up passively. I was able to get away with this on a prior playthrough after I’d learned about Spore @ Level 54 for Shroomish, which then made me think about how I ended a Pokémon Fire Red playthrough with a Level 66 Jigglypuff I had left in a Daycare since just after beating Misty (which was at Level 2 at the time); once I pulled it out and used a Moonstone (and some Vitamins) on it…this Wigglytuff was a wrecking ball in the Elite 4! And yes, I’m aware that Shroomish is part of the Super Slow EXP Pokémon pool…but it’s not as terrible as you’d think. I would give that a try sometime
@@yeez13 so it’s basically not part of the team since it’s in the daycare for the entire playthrough. That’s even less useful since it can’t even be used as a sponge for a free switch in for something useful. I’m not against using Breloom, just how you advise people to use it (because you aren’t for 95% of the game).
Alakazam Is a good choice but how he could survived if a Ghost type uses Shadow punch or shadowball which was physical and Alakazam has a horrible Def.? Imagine having a fight between Alakazam and Dusclops.. Even if I use reflect the next turn I use thief but It inflicts only 40 (maximum 80) and I can't oneshoot Dusclops!
My old reliable team: - swampert, the chad - breloom, the sweep - gardevoir, the esper - torkoal, the oven - banette, the doll - salamance, the carrier Then, replacements for Battle Frontier and post-game - metagross, the bot instead of gardevoir - latios, the stream instead of salamance
Gen 3 I literally just use every dragon type I can get my hands on. Screw balancing a team, you think with that many dragon types and tyanitar and agron I'm gonna bother looking at other pokemons stats??

Try to get a taillow, very good pokemon and it will help you with the rival's mudkip and fighting gym, to be able to start it serves a lot, and for half of the game you should have some pokemon that can help you (shroomish, nincada, ralts, seedot, makuhita, electrike or trapinch for say some examples)
I'm sorry but my Swellow with almost the same moves minus the sludge bomb would wreck the Crobat. I could get behind a couple of these... Not all but a couple

I can't believe swampert is such a good pokemon but didnt had good moves for him lol but gardevoir is my favorite pokemon ever I don't know when I used it in xy and oars (they were my second pokemon game ever) and I just loved it first it was weak as a ralts but when it learned psychic and started one hiting everything but I don't know why but I always got a gardevoir of a special attack reducing nature lol and I know it now because when I played those game I didn't even knew what are nature lol and what is physical and special and what are base stats I just watched his vedio on best team for this game and use it I learned this competitive on like 3 4 months ago
Wow you have bad luck. I usually just keep resetting until I have a ralts with timid nature and I give it the moveset: Psychic, Thief (dark is special in gen 3), shock wave (for Juan’s Kingdra), and Calm mind Edit: Wow Mystic gave Alakazam the exact same moveset
@@mariemely3769 Juan’s Kingdra isn’t weak to electric moves and Thief is pathetically weak. Better to use Shadow Ball on a physical or mixed attacker like Slaking, Absol or even Exploud for when you need to deal with ghost types (Tate and Liza’s rosters all have secondary weaknesses like water and electric which can be exploited to greater effect than SB).

I had a crobat at level 55, when I was doing the Cave of Origin mission i ran into a Shiny zubat lvl 32 with Brave nature. I had to re-train him till Crobat evolution coz shiny Crobat is soooo pretty 😍😍😍

I'm currently replaying Pokémon Emerald, and I'm using this team.

Why not Choose Blaziken since we have strong water pokemon in this generation?
Flygon can learn fly, so when you get Flygon you can replace Crobat with something else, like Raquazza.

Don't use waterfall in Swampert so change it with the move called Brick Break which is a fighting type moves
You forgot:
Breloom w/ Effect Spore (the only Ability it had until Poison Heal) & Leftovers or a Black Belt
- Spore (Shroomish learns it @ level 54)
- Substitute (Move Tutor) or Iron Tail (TM 23)
- Mach Punch (level 23) or Iron Tail
- Focus Punch (TM 01)
That’s a faaaaaaar better choice than Machamp since Spore is 100% Sleep chance that allows you to set up or switch out to something better. With Sub Focus Punch, you’re GUARANTEED to OHKO a vast majority of Pokémon you’ll encounter in the games. Even in Competitive, it was an absolute nightmare to deal with once it got set up. Fighting-type moves have ridiculous amounts of neutrality and hit very hard against what it’s Super Effective on. Also, since Spore is a get-out-of-jail-free card against flying Pokémon, you can always switch in something that would otherwise give it a problem (Ghost and Flying types).
It is AN ABSOLUTE WALL AND STALL BREAKER

You’ve gotta be on shrooms if you think using an unevolved Pokémon until the end of the game just so you can get Spore is a good idea. You’re also waiting for quite a while for a Black Belt from rematches and the Leftovers are in the postgame. And Iron Tail? No STAB, 75 accuracy and only strong against rock and ice types which Breloom already covers with STAB fighting moves that are stronger? While you could argue that this team could be better, your recommendation is downright awful.

People seem to forget that you can leave Pokémon in the Daycare for as long as you want to basically level them up passively. I was able to get away with this on a prior playthrough after I’d learned about Spore @ Level 54 for Shroomish, which then made me think about how I ended a Pokémon Fire Red playthrough with a Level 66 Jigglypuff I had left in a Daycare since just after beating Misty (which was at Level 2 at the time); once I pulled it out and used a Moonstone (and some Vitamins) on it…this Wigglytuff was a wrecking ball in the Elite 4!
And yes, I’m aware that Shroomish is part of the Super Slow EXP Pokémon pool…but it’s not as terrible as you’d think. I would give that a try sometime
@@yeez13 so it’s basically not part of the team since it’s in the daycare for the entire playthrough. That’s even less useful since it can’t even be used as a sponge for a free switch in for something useful. I’m not against using Breloom, just how you advise people to use it (because you aren’t for 95% of the game).
You don’t actually need dive for ice beam in emerald. You can find it in the locked room of that ship wreck. I forgot what route it’s on.

Alakazam Is a good choice but how he could survived if a Ghost type uses Shadow punch or shadowball which was physical and Alakazam has a horrible Def.?
Imagine having a fight between Alakazam and Dusclops..
Even if I use reflect the next turn I use thief but It inflicts only 40 (maximum 80) and I can't oneshoot Dusclops!

- torkoal, the oven
- banette, the doll
- salamance, the carrier
Then, replacements for Battle Frontier and post-game
- metagross, the bot instead of gardevoir
- latios, the stream instead of salamance
Since this is a no restriction team, wouldn't Salamence be better than Flygon? It even has a mega evolution in ORAS unlike Flygon.

Gen 3 I literally just use every dragon type I can get my hands on. Screw balancing a team, you think with that many dragon types and tyanitar and agron I'm gonna bother looking at other pokemons stats??

Girafarig- calm mind, agility, baton pass, physic

Replace Machamp's Return with Cross Chop and it's better.
Everytime I play these versions, I always pick mudkip. But now I tried the fire type and it’s kinda difficult even for the rival. Any tips?
Try to get a taillow, very good pokemon and it will help you with the rival's mudkip and fighting gym, to be able to start it serves a lot, and for half of the game you should have some pokemon that can help you (shroomish, nincada, ralts, seedot, makuhita, electrike or trapinch for say some examples)

I can't believe swampert is such a good pokemon but didnt had good moves for him lol but gardevoir is my favorite pokemon ever I don't know when I used it in xy and oars (they were my second pokemon game ever) and I just loved it first it was weak as a ralts but when it learned psychic and started one hiting everything but I don't know why but I always got a gardevoir of a special attack reducing nature lol and I know it now because when I played those game I didn't even knew what are nature lol and what is physical and special and what are base stats I just watched his vedio on best team for this game and use it I learned this competitive on like 3 4 months ago
Wow you have bad luck. I usually just keep resetting until I have a ralts with timid nature and I give it the moveset: Psychic, Thief (dark is special in gen 3), shock wave (for Juan’s Kingdra), and Calm mind
Edit: Wow Mystic gave Alakazam the exact same moveset

@@mariemely3769 Juan’s Kingdra isn’t weak to electric moves and Thief is pathetically weak. Better to use Shadow Ball on a physical or mixed attacker like Slaking, Absol or even Exploud for when you need to deal with ghost types (Tate and Liza’s rosters all have secondary weaknesses like water and electric which can be exploited to greater effect than SB).
@@yorecf9641 yeah I know. That’s why I used calm mind six times while Kingdra used double team. Kingdra can’t do much to Gardevoir and since shock wave can’t miss, it’s a two hit ko
Also I’m using absol on my team too. Swords dance, slash and shadow ball is an awesome combo
