I feel sorry for Vernon all the way around. From the beginning all he wanted to do was to fit in, went to prison because of it, got beat up badly by his “friend” over pretty much nothing, stood solid and didn’t tell, his reward from that was to only get his mother extorted, got raped, beat up, stabbed in prison, and wasted 25 years of his life trying to be something he never was. I got a little irritated with Eric because I feel like he's exploiting this man (his story) especially about the r*pe. If a woman had been through a r*pe ppl would be very careful about how they approached a conversation about what happened to her. Eric had no compassion in his conversation about what happened to Vernon. This is HARD for A LOT of men to speak about after it happens. I applaud this guy and hopefully someone sees this and it changes their path.

Vernon told everyone how terrified he is, he psychologically went into a cage and closed the door out of fear, where he won't even defend himself. There was a book one time that said two people were getting on a bus, the one person got on the front of the bus, and the other person got on the bus, but saw all the seats in the back full, so he psychologically made a backseat in his mind, in order to sit on the bus. The way Vernon's body language got smaller and smaller, and leaned the opposite way, people need to look at kid's body language when an adult walks in the room, does the behavior, body language completely change when the adult enters and exits the room?
Vernon did good in his interview. I just wish the interviewer was more compassionate as someone who has their degree in psychology actually feels like he tried to make him feel less than he was because of what he been through to me a man ask another man how he felt while getting R worded seems more suspect to me

Vernon’s father 👨🏾 is to blame because he knew his son was a follower a needed a strong male figure in his life. Vernon reminds me “ somewhat” of my own son; we spotted a follower mentality early when he was a toddler, and his father quickly began correcting that behavior. It was not easy, but it can been done if corrected early in a child’s life. First, we never let him ride the the bus we always dropped him off and picked him up from school. My husband would just pop up at school and observe how he interacted with other kids at lunch and play time with out telling our son he was there watching, then he would discuss with our son what he saw and give him guidance on how our son should have handled certain situations. Then, we gradually started letting our son have more independence as we saw his behavior changing ; thus, by the time he got to middle school that follower mentality was gone. Young boys 🧒🏽 nerf mature well adjusted men to guide them into adulthood and Vernon’s father / family obviously did not give him guidance because it’s sad that he has s loyal to the detriment of his own well being. If they were unable to help him, they should have sent him to therapy because he mostly like had some type of mental function disability.

I feel sorry for Vernon all the way around. The way Vernon's body language got smaller and smaller, and leaned the opposite way, people need to look at kid's body language when an adult walks in the room, does the behavior, body language completely change when the adult enters and exits the room?

I agree 1000%! Definitely overkill for the SA part. They are very disgusting with their questioning with any topic that has even the slightest sexual mentioning amongst many of their guests and try to drag that individuals trauma out I’ve noticed. They are very insensitive smh.

Vernon’s father 👨🏾 is to blame because he knew his son was a follower a needed a strong male figure in his life. Vernon reminds me “ somewhat” of my own son; we spotted a follower mentality early when he was a toddler, and his father quickly began correcting that behavior. It was not easy, but it can been done if corrected early in a child’s life. First, we never let him ride the the bus we always dropped him off and picked him up from school. My husband would just pop up at school and observe how he interacted with other kids at lunch and play time with out telling our son he was there watching, then he would discuss with our son what he saw and give him guidance on how our son should have handled certain situations. Then, we gradually started letting our son have more independence as we saw his behavior changing ; thus, by the time he got to middle school that follower mentality was gone. Young boys 🧒🏽 nerf mature well adjusted men to guide them into adulthood and Vernon’s father / family obviously did not give him guidance because it’s sad that he has s loyal to the detriment of his own well being. If they were unable to help him, they should have sent him to therapy because he mostly like had some type of mental function disability.
