Howdy Jacob from Oklahoma !!, I really enjoy your videos and this bed build ! I have been kickin around building a new bed myself . Great craftsmanship ! And functionality ! Can’t wait for the next video !
Love the fucking look of the front drop down box. 110% stealing that design! Can’t wait to see the bed done and getting that machine laid on her. Keep it up man! Also keep that mullet comin along
If there’s anyone out of weld school or helping, I graduated weld school a year ago , went from working in the gulf on oil rigs to doing fabrication in night clubs all within the year, a opportunity arouse for me to weld structural but I needed a machine I’m renting one right now till I have enough to buy , but you can do a lot within a year really try to do everything you can, I set out to be a rig welder, I’ll weld anything to be a rig welder or single hand doing both is just fine, I haven’t tackled stainless pipe yet but its on the list, keep working it will happen.
That is a nice box did you think about making and selling a build diagram i have a service truck that box would sure come in handy thanks another good video 🙏
i see 1 flaw with this drawer.... if the latch/lock ever forgets to get shut there goes the drawer & most of the contents across the road & it only happens at the busiest intersections in town;-) DONT EVEN ASK HOW I KNOW!!!! LOL the bed is looking really good..i like the cross box alot & will prolly copy that on the truck im putting together now cause my frame is longer then the crane body i have!! thanks for sharing & be safe!! hope the family is doing great!
Loving the build. I’m a High School welding teacher and we’re working on a flat bed this year for a gentleman. Is that 2”x.120 square you’re using for the cross members? I was going to use 3” channel but I’m trying to shed some weight on it.
Steel is so daarn expensive . I just built a flatbed for my 2000 ranger after about three weeks of 2 hour welding days to rebuild the frame. I have had to source supplies from scrapyards in Eastern Pa.
This is a really cool build I'm enjoying watching you do it. Have you given any thought again of doing a landscape truck bed build to hold mowers, weed eaters, blowers, yard hand tools etc? Alot of the guys in my industry ( landscaping) are getting away from trailers and getting npr trucks with landscape beds. Just an idea. Stay blessed Jake!!
Question for you... aren't the main supports over the frame a C-channel? Couldn't you have made an almost full length drawer in those channels? Maybe I forgot how you built the frame.
@@JacobSchofield 44 mins for a reply... thanks, didnt expect that. If I build one, might use a U channel and then build some heavy duty rollers. Love watching your build. Keep up the good work.
I've been looking for some heavy duty slides for drawers, whodid you scoop those up from? I bought a set from uline that were supposed to be good for 80 lbs but they were junk. Lookin good tho budd.
That is what I was gonna do to my welding bed. But I got in a hurry to get it done an on the truck i left that part out an just put my pipe cradle on a slide out instead.
Hey man I'm about to buy some tires, I'm watching this video I saw your tires in the beginning of the video and figured ask you what you think is a good tire to get into?
I don’t really know my friend toyo is what I have been running but in my opinion they are junk tires. Falcon wild peak a/T have been pretty good tired and pretty cheap to wrap a truck. 1200.00 for 6
Jake you a boss but you making me a monster. I get to learn from every video that comes out.
Good solid build. Anything worth doing is worth over doing. The truck will be dead long before the bed.
Love seeing your bed build notifications pop on my phone!
Bruh love the hidden drawer idea. Super sick .
Thanks Luis! I hope it works out the way I think it will

Good video, as always! I once welded a piece of 11 gauge between the channels to the cab, put a door on it and could carry long pieces.
Really enjoying this bed build. Can’t wait to see it done
Killer build I love how the box behind the cab came out but I may be wrong I think the drawer will open up when you drive off

Love this advice thanks Logan!
Blessings back. Charcoal gray

Should get some fireball tool squares and clamps to help hold your work square

Killing it

You definitely could of but the sliders would be hard to find.

Curious if you will have a lock on the drawer?
How are you going to keep the water out when you drive down the road?
There will be a gasket.

Tha k you very much. Order them on Amazon I believe these where 22” sliders but I would probably do 18”
I got mine a Lowes the work great
Did you use mig, or fluxcore?
Where did you get that welding jacket from?
That is what I was gonna do to my welding bed. But I got in a hurry to get it done an on the truck i left that part out an just put my pipe cradle on a slide out instead.
What ever happened to the Canadian style box build?

Don’t know if I’d use that type of drawer slide in this application. One winter on wyoming roads and those suckers are gonna be seized up.
Hence the reason we made it so they can be replaced.
Should have use ss nuts they won’t rust
They are allot of things I should have done, but didn’t.
@@JacobSchofield tell me about that , I totally agree
