Best thing people can do instead of arguing whether whey protein is safe or not is by finding it out themselves. Just do a Liver Function test to see if your liver is affected(confirm the report with doctor obviously). If so stop whey for a month completely and then do another test. If the levels went back to normal or decreased after stopping whey then you will figure out the truth. However, if everything is normal then continue your supplement. You most likely took a mass gainer. If you want to gain weight, you don't use protein powder to do so; you bulk (eat over 2,500-3,000 calories). If you cant get kefir you could use whole milk but dilute it with water at a ratio of one third milk/two thirds water but then add a bit of cream too. You also can get low-carbohydrate content double cream plain/greek yoghurt (make sure it's maximum 3 grams carbs per 100grams) and do the same

Mmmmmm... maltodextrin, the corn sugar that isn't sweet. It's good for coating machine parts so your products don't stick but not so good to drink bottles of the stuff daily.

Depends if it’s a mass gainer protein powder. So contains tons of carbs aswel.
You most likely took a mass gainer.
If you want to gain weight, you don't use protein powder to do so; you bulk (eat over 2,500-3,000 calories).
Protein is supposed to fill you up if you take casein protein, or it absorbs into your body quickly if it's an isolate (there are more types, but isolate is the standard).
In other words, you were a kid who thought protein was the magic solution to all your problems, like many beginners. Which isn't an insult but learn from your mistakes its like people who call creatine a steroid when all it does is make you retain water in your muscles
Been taking a lot of whey for a couple of years now. No issues though, but I drink a lot of water. When this guy was a kid, the protein powders back then were garbage. I use Gold Standard brand, no Maltodextrin. Of course, I do a lot of heavy lifting.

Whey protein powder is the good one if u lift weights.
Whey protein obtained from completely fermented kefir is healthy, and if you add some fresh cream and a little bit of unrefined salt, it is also very tasty.

I want this guy to have a one-on-one conversation with "actual" experts in the fitness industry. It'd be great to see them dismantle this guy's entire belief system!

@@JamesTPzRoC just don't understand what to take because modern chickens from grocery stores are unhealthy as well? I mean, idk if stuffing a bunch of chicken everyday is healthy. You really do need to live in the forest lol probably Amazon where you have pretty much everything naturally. But that’s not possibly right, we want so much more than that, so the key it’s to find the balance. Nothing is unhealthy if you do it right and use it right. If grocery store is the only place you can get food, go for it and do the best you can. Over thinking it will do more harm than good. One of the reason why pros don’t take whey protein isolate is because they simply don’t need to, they eat a enormous amount of calories per day, even if they aim for 3g/kg, assuming they eat 3000-4000 calories a day, that’s only abt 30% from protein, but for them the amount of protein is enough, the rest of the calories will be from carb mainly then fat for them. But for normal people that just consume 2500 a day? Protein power is just a simple way to squeeze in those protein without much effort, are they healthy long term, it depends.

Hi Dr berg please I need this full video link
What about whey protein isolate? Is that still the same thing that will cause inflammation? If so, is Pea protein better and does it work for muscle growth?
Was always curious about the whey food..products
100% disagree. Its called a supplement. You're supposed to supplement in maybe 1 or 2 scoops a day to reach your protein goals for the day. So they can build muscle. Not all people can reach that just eating food. You're over here talking bout chowing in down and it made you feel sick. Well duh. Pretty sure if i ate to much of anything in one sitting id feel sick too😂
Yea same
I’m taking organic protein powder because I’m vegan. Dr Berg is this bad too? I’m not sick drinking it,,but should I stop using it? Do you have any recommendations alternative?
Pls Dr Berg help me what can I eat instead of foods with protein. My doctor said my protein is too high
Could it be the same as powdered milk?
Choose your way cautiously simple . Buy good ones without maltodextrin and all ...
Its literally just protein extracted from milk. Stop overcomplicating it. Nothing wrong with it.

Exactly. Absolutely nothing wrong with whey protein. Been taking it for over 20 years as an athlete. Zero issues and liver is healthy. Also eat 12 eggs a day. Again no issues. Blood work is excellent. Wouldn't believe what most drs say, most have no idea and just go off hunches not facts.

Whey protein powder makes my blood pressure high not sure why
Doc please help…I have a BMI of 15.8, I’m underweight with a fat percentage of 7.9% and severely self conscious. Everyone raves about whey protein to gain body fat but I don’t trust it as you say…I’m eating over my recommended daily calories, I do heavy weights x1-2 a week but what can I take to help gain more weight to be at a healthy level?
Bro use dena tablet blend instead of good quality whey protein. If your not able to get your daily protin intake (which is 0.8 grams / kg) from regular food you can easily use a good quality whey protein. Taking one scoop whey protein will not cause any harm and instead it will help you to keep your muscle mass intact if you do a lot of cardio. I am a runner and i also do weight training 6 days or even 7 days a week and yes i did had fatty liver 2years ago and that's when i started working out. I lost quite a lot of weight after i started exercising but i lost quite a bit of muscle mass during my weight loss as i was on a low calorie diet and whey protein definitely helped me to reach my daily protein intake. I don't have any liver or any other issues right now and still taking whey protein everyday so yaaa don't need to worry. Just make sure your consuming a high quality and genuine whey protein.
What about eating homemade whey left from making cheese in your own kitchen????
What about plant-based protein powder or raw sport repair powder 🤔
