You should make an updated video if possible
Reason I say that is because the new 2023 surron is a little different and the harness is slightly different or has different looking connections for example the extra wire for future use
I also didn’t get lock washer for my top controller mount idk if it’s necessary but still tight and secure
Agreed, please make a new updated video!
If you don't have an eggrider can you still take off the eco/sport switch and just use the GLE app to switch between modes or do you need to keep it on?
Once again doing a follow up for the tracking.
Order 1489
Waiting on wiring harness..
Waiting on a email response back from you all..
Been over a week on a response.
Thank you
You are the first vid on an x160... thank you, now I know this bike can do what I want. Do you guys know when you will get another batch in stock?
We will open the order window in the next couple of days. Contact us via email to get on the notification list support@glengineering.co , not com
Anything u see done to a sur Ron x or a Segway x260 can be done to a x160 lol
160 is good for no more then 8kw.. been riding since early 2019
I am having a really hard time closing up the breaker cover because the the controller wire towards the top is bulky and it's in the way of even screwing into the tilt sensor bracket. Any suggestions?
It shows me the voltage on my 72v display , do I still need to get a multimeter?
Is the voltmeter testing necessary if you don't have any extra electronics on your sur ron?
Its no longer necessary.
I am setting up on an X260 this weekend - once installed does the system automatically recognize the 260's battery? Or does it have to be switched like here in the video?
yes it should be recognized if you use our kit with our GLE Dashboard.
Do we have to use stock controller bolts (phase wire bolt?) that connects the wire to the controller? Or does your bac4000 comes w its own bolts to connect the wires?
It comes with its own bolts
Nice video how can you choose between different voltage batteries on eggrider?
Watch our GLE Dashbaord app videos
You did not explain why you kept the Ep and Sport mode switches? Do they not work anymore? And why add a thumb throttle and not explain what it is for? Very confused.
The ep and sport mode switch is supposed to work and he explained it in the video but don’t forget it also includes the horn button which is life saving, don’t remove it unless you got an alternative for the horn button
The Regen thumb throttle is obvious as the name suggests, it’s a thumb throttle so you push it down to let the Regen kick in to slow you down
The EP and Sport mode does NOT work after the new controller install. Only the horn button will work.
I cut the green wire on my light bee,do I have to reconnect it to use the controller or is that only for the switch between sport and ep? Thanks
No you do not have to reconnect it.
I really hope I don’t mess this up
Just received my BAC 4000. It has 2x red plugs in the wiring harness, one with a cap on it, that aren't addressed in this video. I contacted your e-mail support to ask about them, and got a very confusing reply about e-brake cutouts, but your red plugs are completely different than theirs. Since the Sur Ron already has e-brake cutouts switches, do I need to cut those connectors and splice them into yours, or will the OEM Sur Ron wiring still allow the e-brake cutouts to work with your BAC 4000?
The kit is universal so simply transplant the connectors. There is no polarity so that should be simple.
@@GLE I don't understand what you're saying here. The stock brake cutout wires go directly to a stock plug that connects to the new harness. Then we also have these two extra red plugs that mountainflyhigh was talking about--what are those for? There is no information I can find explaining what to do with them, and they're not a part of the harness that you install in this video.
Does the bac 4000 have a lower voltage output for other functions such as headlight, turn signals? 12/24 volts? Or would the green display output work? (Not for surron/segway) Converting motorcycle to electric and trying to figure out how to get 12v system to still work with 72v battery pack.
You install a 12v buck converter. That’s how all cars and bikes power there 12v accessories such as lights, horn, heater, AC … etc .
Did anyone lose their horn in this procedure or do I have to join the wires to work the eco/sport switch so I can keep the horn?
@@Buffetology I gotta look around..I lost horn making changes for the controller..got new horn, followed it to plug ,plugged it,still nothing
Is the eggrider needed to run this controller or is it possible to start everything by just using your phone and the GLE app?
You can simply use the GLE app
From the stock controller there is a 3 pin, an 8 pin, & a 9 pin.(Connectors).(Surron). In the video when testing the battery, did you say 6 pin on purpose? Or did you mean 8? Just wondering.
Not sure what you are referring to but simply contact customer support and they will be happy to assist.
Can you disconnect the old display in the beginning or do you have to close it up then reopen?
you do not need the old display. The GLE dashboard becomes the new display.
My battery has 3 holes do I still do the top one when battery is in position that yours is shown, upside down? Also, my multimeter ground doesn’t fit inside the pin as yours does can I just touch it to the metal?
Can you contact us via support@glengineering.co. We would be very happy to assist you and if necessary call you. Thank you
@@GLE done.
Hello guys I cut my eco/sport/horn wire as instructed in the video so it’ll still work if my eggrider is off or broken but the sport/eco buttons don’t seem to do anything, I did the wiring really nicely, took my time too and watched that step 5 times to make sure I don’t make a mistake
Is it supposed to work with the GLE app or what?

The same thing for me
@@zacharyjacques5551 ended up not needing it so I just replaced it with a better horn button that wont move
Do your controllers monitor cell usage overheating things of that nature
Yes
Once I turn my bike on the eggrider says locked how can I unlock without the phone app?
Hey dude,
Is there any way i could get only the files for the different battery settings since all controllers are sold out and i have to buy from someone who doesnt provide them. Would really help me🙏
We will have more units in stock soon
Please release a high voltage controller. 96v and higher. Bac 8k is still a beast but your competitors all have high voltage controllers out.
They already go to 100 volts, much higher than 96v
I just ordered my bac4000 with egg rider display. My question is do we still need to run the factory eco/sport switch still or can that all be removed along with the display?
That can be removed. You can switch from Eco to Sport with the EGG rider or the GLE Dashboard app.
@@GLE realized now people are only keeping it to retain the horn button. Thank you!
little late to the party here.. but what if my bac4000 harness dosent have the green ground wire ..
The wires discussed at the 12:00 minute mark make it so the bike will still work even if the egg rider stops working?
Yes. However the Eggrider is ok but we are rolling out the GLE Dashboard which will give you driving modes like Park, Reverse, Neutral and Drive. Check out the Gle dashbaord video. Any other questions contact support@glengineering.co
will connecting tese wires keep my horn working ?
So, since in this video we discover the tilt sensor will no longer work, does that also mean that the kickstand safety cutout, as well as the brake cutouts don't work either?
The brake cutoff feature has been preserved. The kickstand and tilt has been eliminated but you can wire it back up to the cutoff for the same effect. Most remove them as they tend to put the bike in limp mode at the worst possible time when they fail and are not happy pushing their bike for miles in the middle of a forest because the kickstand or brake sensor failed.
@@GLE - Hmmm. I really need to get that kickstand cutout working again, it's a HUGE safety issue and I'm surprised you would disable it. In my youth, I lost a friend who was killed on a motorcycle after forgetting to retract the kickstand, and there is a big possibility, on a silent motorcycle, for a kid to grab the throttle and twist it and get injured. I'd sure rather risk a malfunction into limp mode, than injure myself or others. So, just which wires do I need to connect from the kickstand harness to the brake cutout? From the wiring diagram, it looks like I need to keep the kickstand powered with green negative and black positive, then connect the green/blue signal wire to the brake cutout green/yellow??? I need to be sure I don't damage this new controller by wiring it wrong.
Thumb throttle??
Will this install be different with the new GLE dashboard harness?
Yes
So this video going to be the same instructions for the bac8000?
Yes
I sure hope I don’t mess this up
I contacted support but no response, I hooked everything up and my bike turns on but I'm now receiving, an error on my egg rider that says Display Over Volt
They should respond within 24 hours.
Will a blow dryer work as well to heat shrink? Thanks
Most likely if it’s very hot
it wont. i just tried
@@mikemauch2695 it works bro, don't worry you won't melt any other wires. Takes a few mins but it will work on high power high heat
So i did this on my Surron light bee the GLE BAC4000 and a 72volt 51ah CHI battery did everything this video said to turned my bike on the headlight tail light and eggrider turned on but i had 0 throttle response it didn’t move at all some please help!!!
You didn’t program your egg rider
You have no power settings in the Egg Rider. You need to program your egg rider with actual power settings
@@BuffetologyHow do i do that?
Just finished the install but the throttle isn’t working, any suggestions?
Contact customer support and they will help you directly
Does the seway app still work with this upgrade? Id like to get rid of my segway app because it has failed.
No, you will use the much better GLE Dashboard.
Blue Red Green Black Yellow
What does it mean when the controller red light is blinking instead of a solid light?
Error code. Google ASI controller error codes.
Well I don’t get power at the controller pin. What should I do?
Contact customer support. They should assist you
How does this work if I don't have an Eggrider?
You can use the GLE Dashboard display or you can purchase one of our Egg Riders with the kit
Why are your motor leads in a different order than others that sell bac's the blue yellow and green wires
We have custom firmware for more power.
@@GLE so if I bought a bac from someone else wore it the way you show with the dashboard kit I just received?

Why play music at the same time of taking you all do it get hold of your self 👌
I don’t have any throttle. I get power, turned on egg rider, multimeter the lines, I’ve done all the setting in the app as instructed. Throttle was working day before with stock controller now it’s not. Disappointed bike is just dead.
