  • A quick look at my first setup and ride with the Wahoo Kickr Snap and Zwift. I try to explain how to get started, show what you need for a basic setup and also how to avoid upsetting those you live with or the neighbours! Indoor smart trainers are pretty new to me and there's a few bits I've probably forgotten to include but any questions feel free to ask and I'll do my best to answer. Happy cycling and stay safe!

I've just finished setting up my new Kickr Snap and hopefully I'll get my first ride in today. I noticed you've installed an inside trainer tire on your bike, which I'm considering doing sometime in the near future.
Because I run tubeless tires on the bike I don't want to go through the messy job of taking the tire off the bike, cleaning the sealant off the rim, and then installing a tube and indoor training tire. An option is to purchase another rim for the indoor training tire, but the new prices are in the $250 (Canadian) range and finding a used rear wheel with the correct through-axle is near impossible where I live.
For now, I'll ride on the tire that's already on the bike.

Hope you enjoy your new indoor option! Mine was fine with the original tyre, but I just wanted to make it as quiet as possible. The training tyre made a noticeable difference and I'm pretty pleased with it. If you're running tubeless though, I agree it's not worth swapping tyres on the same wheel. Thanks for the comment and happy cycling!

Hi, how long does it take to set up the trainer and do a calibration? I might need to move the trainer and bike around often. Nice review 👍🙏

Thanks for the comment. Very quick to set up (in my opinion) and a calibration takes probably less than a couple of minutes. I've jumped on it a few times now and not done the calibration (forgot) and I couldn't really notice the difference to be honest. Happy cycling!

im so torn, i want the kickr v5, but im so worried about being noisy to neighbors. if i knew for a fact i could eliminate it then i would order one today..i guess ill just have to take the risk.

No other way really than to get it and see how noisy it is in situ. Careful unpacking it in case you do need to send it back. In all honesty mine was noisier than I expected but with the damping underneath and fitting a training tyre it's not too bad now at all. The v5 should be even quieter out of the box I think. Good luck and happy cycling!

You know, I've watched many videos and wonder why anyone isn't just setting them up in the garage on a concrete floor on an old rug? I'm still deciding what to pick up but it just seems like a no brainer, there's no way i'd have any of them in my house!

I completely agree but unfortunately I don't have a garage.

Wouldnt it be easier to get a smart indoor exerrcise bike?
