Yes! I sustained a domestic violence injury that put me in chronic pain, and really derailed my career and life goals. Seeing this guy being so positive and thriving makes me see that all my crying about my losses is not gonna change a thing. I need to start appreciating that I’m still alive, and make the best of it! I think the way I got hurt makes it easy to focus on the negative. But I’d rather have the life I have now than be back in that situation, so I’ll take it. Everybody wants to go back in time and be their younger, healthier selves and do things differently, but no one can. I guess we all have to learn the hard way. But, as we learn, things get easier.

I'm a trisexual woman (I'll try anything sexual). 😉 But my son has just turned 16 and has fully come out so, saying that to say, even though I'm queer myself and have gay/queer friends, I'm navigating it in a different way now that I'm the mom of a queer son. If you have a T8 spinal cord injury it happened because those guys must've beat you up. You passed out so you don't really know what happened. I hope you pressed charges and they got thrown in jail.
