Ok, so I just mixed all the ingredients and put this concoction on my hair. I left it in for about 1 hr. OMG, my hair has never been so soft This deep conditioner has major slip. My finger easily glided right through my hair. The smell wasn't that bad either. Love love lOve this deep conditioner. It will now be apart of my hair regimen.

Every time I see "DIY" I already know I'm watching the video for aesthetic purposes only lol. I think most of us could watch you slather anything on your hair for hours and be in awe tbh. I am OVER my DIY phase of natural hair I can't take no mo' blending and whipping and mixing. I do enjoy learning these things regardless, though, just to add to my arsenal of random hair knowledge for a rainy day.

I really love your DIY's. My mom made your DIY avocado hair mask last year in January. She had some leftover and asked if I wanted to use it. So I did. I remember the next day how shocked I was, to see my hair so healthy and shiny! The last time I remember my hair so shiny was back in the early 90's, using the Gliss Kur Hair Mask. But it was 100x less stronger than this homemade hair mask. I noticed after a month that my hair in the back grew longer. At that point, the back of my hair has not been growing longer for a very long time. Many thanks all the way from Europe 😊🇳🇱

Yes!!! Fenugreek is amazing!!! I never even knew it was good for my hair until I was taking Fenugreek internally for hormone, blood sugar balance etc. It is by far my favorite herb so far for Women.

I made this a couple of weeks ago and WOW! My curls were poppin and my curl pattern has never been so defined! My hair had incredible slip and it was SO much easier to detangle. Usually, I have to moisturize my hair every day, but with this, my hair was still so moisturized that I only had to do it about every three days. The smell didn't bother me much, I mostly smelled banana, which I did not mind at all :D Thank you so much for this idea!

Fenugreek adds a TON of slip to this conditioner omg I'm so glad I found this video! I had bought some from my local Indian store for a (failed) hair growth oil and wondered what to do with the rest of the Fenugreek powder. I mixed 8 tbs of avocado oil and 8 tbs of coconut oil because I didn't have enough avocado oil to make a cup. Also I wished I had used my blender instead of my hand held mixer because it was very clumpy but I did have more than enough for my conditioner.

As usual love the DIY video. I have been using fenugreek for a few months along with the capsules. Fenugreek has tons of slip and since I got the seeds I pour water in a jar and put about a 1/2-1 cup of fenugreek . After a few days I get a gel or a slippery liquid that I pour into my henna or use in a DC,, 1 Problem no matter where I go someone some random person will say "I smell maple syrup, who had pancakes today"... lol Of course I stay quiet and smile to myself cuz I cant smell it and my hair loves it,,, so who cares if I smell like maple syrup.... lolol

When I tell you I'm doing the big chop 2day....... Girl....... You just gave me my whole entire natural hair life honey chile!!!! I put this stuff together and babeeeee....... I have never seen my hair curl like that. When I started applying this conditioner to my hair and raking it through my hair, I was like.... OMG... ITS A WRAP I'm big chopping 2DAY....... My one year anniversary of transitioning to natural I finally found what will help me with moisture and wash and goes.... When I rinse this out I will condition my hair and put something together to see if it curls up again. If it does, I've got big plans honey....

Omg omg I am so excited about this product methi powder. I did the big chop on my hair 9 months ago but was lazy to take care of my hair, so it just grew into a NAPPY 4C iron sponge feel type mess. But when I stretched my hair I noticed it grew quite a bit which I was shocked, so I thought if I start taking care of it it should grow longer and healthier. Tried a few DIY and followed a few UA-cam steps but didn't notice much of a difference, till I put methi powder in my hair and omg omg I am SOOOOOLD. My nappy 4z hair has now got defined curls I couldn't believe it. I am so happy I took your advice and discovered this product, I am so amazed at the instant difference. Like, shared and subscribed.

Loved the tut and I will def try it out...My grandma suggested washing your hands with white table salt and your favorite dish soap.
    Wet your hands
    apply the dish soap
pour some salt onto the soap
exfoliate for about 30 sec then rinse throughly
Your hands should be buttery soft and the smell should be reduced if not gone.

I LOOOOOOVE using fenugreek on my hair. I add different Ayurvedic powders to my conditioners and fenugreek provides the most slip and moisture. And I don't mind the smell at all! And also, adding fenugreek to your mixtures and leaving it to sit overnight actually causes the mixture to thicken up and expand so you're getting more product!

I tried the deep conditioner in my hair today. I I made the conditioner last night and let it sleep in the refrigerator overnight. I followed your instructions. I even strained it twice. I found it to be a little too runny last night but this morning it seems like it got a little thicker. You were right about the maple smell so when I put it in my hair I made sure to wear gloves. The smell's not too overpowering but it can get on your nerves. I did like you said and after I did the deep condition, I rinsed with my regular conditioner to help with the scent. My hair still has a maple scent. but like I said it's not too overpowering. My hair felt like normal. I did untangle a bit. I kind of felt like it straightened my hair a little bit. I don't know that it did a great job but then again this was my first time. my reason for trying this to see if it would help stop the breakage. I may try it one more time. what might stop me is even though I strained the condition or twice, there were still little pieces of mixture in my hair. When I rinsed my hair I had to look through my hair carefully. I used my conditioner to help get some of those mixture pieces out. However, even when I was done rinsing my hair, there was still a few pieces. They were very tiny, like if you had dandruff but green, LOL. Again, I'm a give it one more try....we'll see.

Clove hide d fenugreek smell and has antifungal property. It made my hair super silky. I could see only a single hair strand in comb. While washing hair there were few strands. My hair was looking more blacker than earlier. Hope it give new growth. Thank u for the recipe. But i dont think i vl continue using it as avacado at my place is very costly. Besides adding oil, can I leave this mask for longer than 1 hour, will that make my hair feel softer??

Hey Naptural85. I just applied the deep conditioner. Now I am sitting and letting it soak. I love middle eastern foods so I didn't mind the smell. I am transitioning so my new growth loved it from the moment of application. I actually had trouble telling my curl type prior to this and it had been about 7 months since I had had a relaxer. After application my curls are happy so it'll be easier for me to track my progress. I'm okay with the awkward look of transitioning as I have done it previously due to pregnancy.
I had to make two batches as the first batch was too liquidity for me to handle so I decreased the aloe vera by 1/2 a cup. I also worked backwards pureeing the avocado and banana together then adding the methi powder and slowly incorporating the aloe vera juice. I didn't have a fine strainer so I used a clean sock. Lol. It was laborious but I am sure will be well worth it.
I also recommend sectioning the hair in 6th. I halved one side of my head and it became tangled and I ended up pulling a small bit out to my frustration. The other side I put in thirds and kept it taught, applied the mixture from the roots to ends and it works perfectly. I was able to detangleuch easier with fingers and my natural hair soaked it right up. I didn't have a shower cap so I improvised using a plastic bag and tied it at the based of my head.
I will post another comment once I rinse. But I think this is just what my hair needed since I had not deep conditioned in some time.

I know this about this particular video, but I also follow you on Facebook, and I'm pissed at the hate you get about you dyed your hair and now you had to cut it, blah blah, don't these folks know that you also as a human being have to LEARN too and make MISTAKES about your hair. Well I'm a faithful subbie and I don't fault your mishaps, good or bad you have taught me a lot about my own natural journey. Keep blessing us with your journey.

I love that you mentioned a way to get the pulp out of the mixture. I don't know why I've never thought of it before. I spent 2 hours trying to get the pulp out from being stuck in my hair the last time I did a banana-based hair mask lol

  • @krob9145

Since I have this in my kitchen to make curries I've tried it in my hair. I've mixed it with yoghurt and honey. I'd got a large bottle of the stuff courtesy of my mother some years ago and I've still not finished it even after cooking curry every week. Without the honey I think my hair ended up smelling like celery salt. I've thought of trying banana and fenugreek but haven't as yet.

Overripe, Whit. Overripe. Also, a trick I use to get a lingering scent off my hands is to scrub my hands with coarse salt and dish liquid. Rinse and repeat. Lotion/Oil/Body Butter to nourish the skin afterwards.

Good evening my friend!! Oh I love your bun, so cute...haha it's ok to make up words I do it all the time-mah mime-mah, lol!! This mixture looks great, Fenugreek powder something new to add the my "Hair To Do N Try" list...you know about an hour ago I got home but before coming home I took a banana from my sister n law( her kids weren't eating it, lol!) and I thought of your banana light protein treatment and I thought about eating it, it could be my once a year banana lol but since I eat a banana maybe once every couple years and when I do eat it I can only handle 1 bite, the taste is too powerful for me.... I told you I was a picky eater, and it's late and I feel like I'm rambling, so moving on lol!
Aint nothing wrong with maple syrup, I thought you were gonna say the Fenugreek smelt like sour feet, or yucky Liquorice (man how do you spell liquorish)... but anyhow I can handle a sweet maple syrup scent lol! Great video, I love how crisp and clean and bright everything always is! I really have to give all these healthy hair mixtures a try, I haven't been big on putting foods in my hair, while being on my healthy hair journey but better to feed my hair then in my belly, lol!! I hope you have a wonderful upcoming week and Happy Birthday to the amazing Olivia! ....oh yeah pssst, is that a new ear piercing on your right ear?

Hi Whitney, I love your videos. they're very informative and to the point. I love that you don't constantly repeat the same thing, thank you also your hair and Olivia's hair is so beautiful, strong, shinny and healthy. Now, my question, In one of your videos you stated, you had high porosity hair. Unfortunately, I don't, I have low porosity hair. Therefore, I was wondering if you have any suggestions, recommendations and/or thoughts as to how I could obtain strong, shinny, and healthy hair. Thanks in advance for any advice you can give me.
