    I'm from 4 years in the future......trying to find my way back to your very first video. You've come a long way Kyle. You've done amazing with your cabin and your youtube channel. I am going to look up a many of your early video as I can find. It would be nice if you could post a link starting from the beginning so those of us who didn't discover you until over the past year or so can watch your video from the beginning. Thank you!

      You're not alone! My OCD won't let me rest unless I watch them in order 😂
      Go under the video tab and hit oldest. That'll put them in order from the first one.
      It might go two or three vids & you might have to do it again (because of commercials that knock them out of order). I keep track by giving a thumbs up after each one I watch.
      ~Hope it helps.

    They say the old timers were tougher than kids today, but in the old pre ww2 woodcraft books they are all like, then strap your woodstove to your mule and haul it into your cabin site, or 50s through 70's dudes would just illegally cut a jeep trail through public land to haul the heavy stuff in like wood stoves and cement sacks etc. When i built my first cabin in 2004, i definitely drug thousands of lbs of building materials (that i pulled out of dumpsters in the big city where i lived, cause jobs) out to my cabin site, hah.

    This kind of life is my husband's absolute dream. I'm curious was it hard to talk Cierra into this lifestyle?

    • @KYLESCABIN
      @KYLESCABIN  5 років тому +11

      Yes it was. I'm going to make a video about it called "how to talk your girlfriend/wife into living in the woods". I honestly cant believe that she's out here. When I first started talking about it she want nothing to do with it at all. It took a lot but once she got out here she fell in love with it. My advice would be to be open minded and just give it a shot. Tell your husband what you would want in order to be comfortable and he will do it for you. I let Cierra decorate and design pretty much the whole inside of the cabin. As long as she didn't make it too girly.. lol. Her requests were she wanted an indoor bathroom and a way to get clean. I am currently building us an indoor bathroom with a shower (I will have a video of that soon). I personally am fine with just an outhouse. I lived like that in Alaska. But since she's out here and wants to be I have no problem doing whatever I can do to make her as comfortable as possible.

    • @KYLESCABIN
      @KYLESCABIN  5 років тому +10

      Also, the amount of money you would save is life changing. Rather than spending a huge amount of money on a house payment or rent you can spend it doing fun things together. Just think about how much different your life could be if you didn't have a house payment or rent. You can build a comfortable cabin this size for really cheap. Plus you get to make it how you want it and that's a lot of fun.

    • @crystalscastle6836
      @crystalscastle6836 5 років тому +4

    • @KYLESCABIN
      @KYLESCABIN  4 роки тому +3

      Its private land within the national forest. Its landlocked by national forest land for miles in every direction. I had to get a permit for a trail to be able to access the land since it goes through national forest land. But the land itself is private.

    • @KYLESCABIN

    For what earthly reason do you have that cannon strapped to your hip? I live in Cook County, and, have hiked and skiied, and, canoed all around in and out of the Boundary Waters, and, have never had any need of a gun. I live in a rural area, see wolves and bears walk though my neighborhood, and, have never felt threatened. At most when i take my dogs out at night, i carry on of those air warning horns to scare off anything i might encounter. Nice to see you have a remote cabin, but, get real about the gun. If you want to keep bears away from your windows, get some of those really sharp bow saw blades, and, tack them along the window sill with some spacers, it will keep the bears from putting their paws on the windows.
