Nice job. You most be exhaust, sharpen your chain and let the chainsaw cut not you. You will fill better at night and less fatigue. Coming along good. Thumb up on cabin.

I think In your future videos at the cabin you should show what you would normally do in a day at the cabin that would be pretty cool. Great job on the cabin man your gonna have years of good memories there

I am definitely going to! I've got a good video of winter preperation coming up then most videos will be a typical day at the cabin.

Hi Kyle, I know that’s a lot of work but will be so worth it when you are done. Good work and I enjoyed the video.

Just a simple tip...after you cut brush and bramble stack everything so that they are all oriented in the same direction...make a pile...cut more...make another pile...etc...then grab each pile by the cut end and tuck them in your armpit...and drag them all off...it is much more efficient and much less work then cutting..grabbing...and throwing...and...it is smart to wear a helmet when doing this work...even a small twig falling on your head can do some damage...I did land clearing for a living for many years when I was younger...

I like to use loppers for cutting the small stuff. I can get right down to the dirt, which is not advisable with a chainsaw. You can also cut limbs out of the way on the bigger evergreens to safely get to the trunk.

I have land in NE WI where I intend to do somwthing similar, although my body is broken and just walking hurts to much now. That said, I'm still chasing the same dream you are - life off grid, full of love and nature not sadness and debts. Speaking from experience, take the safe road not the quick road, your happiness will last longer and you'll get more out of what you're doing. Your lady will appreciate that too, especially once the little ones start poppin out :)

I've used a chainsaw to cut some trails. If I don't cut the trees down close to the ground it leaves a miserable trail. When I cut them as short as possible the chain gets dull quickly. When cutting small trees it's more efficient to keep using a dull chain than to stop to resharpen every few minutes. (I carry several sharp chains along and change them rather than taking time to resharpen on the trail.) I know the sound of cutting with a dull chain is hard to hear but If I want to finish the job I'd be using the saw the same way as Kyle. I've found that when cutting trees less than 2 inches it's sometimes easier for me to use a big string-trimmer/brush cutter with a carbide saw blade on it.

I noticed all the ribbons. Were they to mark your own way or did the Forest Service mark it for you ????

What town are you close to, up there? I've spent a fair amount of time on the trails and across the water in the Superior Forest. I kick myself for not buying land off the Honeymoon trail when it was cheap and available.

Learn to sharpen your chainsaw. Use the appropriate size file on each tooth everytime you run the a tank full of gas and it will never go dull. You’ll find a sharp chain will make notching logs a lot easier and neater as well.

You have a long walk out. Get some safety equipment, safety glasses at a minimum. Sharpen the chain...looks dull. Keep the saw off to one side, not directly in front of you. The one-hand over your head is terribly dangerous. If you keep safety in mind you can enjoy your place for a long time.

I own the land. Its private land that is surrounded by National Forest land so i had to get a permit from the U.S. Forest Service to be able to construct an easement.

If you can keep the langue G rated youtube will suggest your content to a lot more people. Also I will feel a bit more free to subscribe my kids roku viewing channel.

I've cleared land for and built 2 remote log cabins. By myself. I've also been in construction for 7 years. Never been hurt. If you want to make a safety video for us you can.
