Hey, I'm a relatively new angler and picked one of these up at a garage sale. I payed 2 dollars for it and I took it home and restored it like you have done. I don't know much about the reel and if you know anything about it I'd like to know more.
@@Christophersanchez1326Read my comment on this video about the 1500C. What you paid for yours is just about all I’d pay for one of these. It is not my favorite by any means! - Chris
I own 24 silver series Daiwa reels. The 1500C is by far the worst of the silvers for one simple reason - the clip holding on the rotor. This is the only silver series reel with no ball bearing. There are 14 reels in the Daiwa Silver Series and the 150oC is the only reel with a clip holding on the rotor and the only one without a ball bearing. It is a terrible reel when compared to the other silvers. Don’t buy one of these. Get a 1600C instead as it is a far better reel. Dennis Kuntz on 2nd Chance Tackle is a good friend and a great mentor. I was one of his first 10 subscribers. My vintage spinning reel collection currently has 335 reels. - Christopher
@@Christophersanchez1326 Depending on what you hook with that 1500C it will be good or the reel disintegrates in your hand. I really can’t say too much as I have one too.
425 yards of SIX !!! Why not 1,275 yards of 2 lb !! ( haha) 10-15 preferable 12 lb perfect on this model. Had my first one in 1975. Was a favorite then.
Nice looking piece there! We have always cleaned and maintained our reels. I like the old Ones
The older reels have a better feel in the hands. Got to keep them alive and fishing. 😁
I need to work on some of my old reels one of theses days. Thanks for the video man. 👍🏻
Lots of lakes over there. Go and get your line wet. 😎
That's awesome I thought I was the only one to use a chisel as a screw driver 😀
It's a multi tool. 😃

Good price for that reel. Try 2nd Chance Tackle on UA-cam. That guy has lots of videos on many different reels. 🤓

I have one of these. Is it normal for the reel to click when reeling? Different than most reels.
Alot of older reels do click, make that clicking sound. It's the anti reverse switch. The modern reels are just silent. 🫡

Oh... Oh. Oh.. the Pounds of line. Ha went right over the head. I think this one has a 10 lbs line and it's still good.
Oh... Oh... The pounds of line.. this one still has the 10 pound line in it. It's still good 😊. It's a good reel.
