Join us as we gear up for the hay harvest season! In this video, we take you through the process of transforming our equipment from potato farming to hay harvesting. Watch as we:
- Remove the potato beds from our 10-wheelers and install the hay beds.
- Unhook the potato cultivator to make space for the new attachments.
- Take the dual wheels off all the tractors to ensure they are ready for the hay fields.
This detailed step-by-step guide showcases the hard work and precision involved in preparing our farm for a successful hay harvest. Don't forget to like, comment, and subscribe for more farming adventures and tips!
Thanks for sharing a great video . I know it takes a lot of time shooting , editing . But we do appreciate your hard work. I know it’s just another day at the office for you guys but it’s very interesting to us . Thanks for sharing. 👍👍👍👍
Well, I’m glad you find it interesting sometimes I wonder if people will like it. Thanks for watching.
@@RockyMountainFarmer There is at least two of us that find your videos interesting!
Thank you!
No problem
Enjoyed the video, thanks for bringing it to us. Looking forward of you making hay, hope the weather is on your side.
I’m glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for watching
@@RockyMountainFarmer may not comment all the time, but always a👍✌️
Farm work is never done!!
It sure never seems like it
I have a Casio very similar to yours. Mine is silver tho. 😅 Best work watches ever! Looking forward to seeing the swather run.
I wasn’t able to get any video of the swather this time but I will next crop. It was a very crazy harvest tho.
As tall as you are I would think you could open the back window and lift the quick hitch locks from inside! Back in the old west everyone had a 6 shooter in a holster on their hip, now it's a pair of plyers! Too bad the duels don't go on as easily! Love the content and would watch more.
I’m glad you’re enjoying the channel. I can reach the locks if I really reach. The duals go on almost as easy as they come off.
Just came across your channel and it is so interesting. Back in the day, don't know if I hauled more bulk potatoes or frozen fries. JR Simplot, McCains, Frito Lay, CH Robinson and on and on. My wife and I have recently retired and Idaho is on our consideration list of possible relocation spots. Do you hire seasonal employees of any type?
We do hire some seasonal employees for harvest in the fall. I’m glad you found the channel. I hope you enjoy it.
The lever to help disconnect hydraulics must be a time and hassle saver. I remember as a kid fighting to disconnect hydraulics lines.
Yeah, it definitely makes it nice but also sometimes they don’t lock in and they pop out
is it possible the pin connecting the tractor broke when they hit the power pole?
That is a possibility. I kinda forgot about that.
Are you affected by that curtailment order IDWR just issued?
No because we use mostly surface water. But that is going to be devastating to the farming community and the economy. I might make an episode about that when I get more info.
@@RockyMountainFarmer Lucky! yea I think a video talking about it would be interesting.
@@RockyMountainFarmer So you pump directly from the Snake, or use a canal?
@@tuberNunya we use canals
Hopefully you cleaned all the manure out of the beds before you started cutting hay
Yeah we did
Nice to see you utilize the trucks to there full potential with various beds
It makes us more efficient
Do you ever worry about going into a field that has club root?
I’ve never even heard of that.
You need to poor concrete and a drain system where you wash your equipment
We have little by little
Why don't you have a guid pin on the truck? then all you have to do is lower it and they will guide the holes.
That’s just something that we haven’t installed.
Fantastic video how much expense per acre of potatoes and how much profit in your states
The profit varies from year to year because of contract prices but I know that when we plant 25 sacks, we will yield about 500 sacks to the acre
Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for the input. Glad you like the hats
Wow what a fast speed of changing tyres anyhow you do not make another video except farming content do you fond of cricket or not T Twenty world cup held in your country
Well, I’m glad you enjoyed the video. Honestly, I don’t watch that much sports.
Ok yeah farming is such a passion in which there is no leave only work and work one ends second start so no time reveal for other types of enjoyment
You guys power hill ?
Currently doing that at work right now
👍🚜👍🚜
We don’t, we just have a cultivator
I have lived around potato farms my whole life in Nebraska and I never knew what actually happens in the planting. I was only there during harvest.
Well now you know glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for watching.
This video is tiring
Haha
I think having people watch your channel is a blessing. Having to pay to watch is asking a lot. Are you producing content that's worth paying for?
I’m sure it’s worth it to someone. Not that I will ever do it it’s just an option, that’s why I asked. Thanks for the input.
