I used Easy Off heavy duty oven cleaner for my intercooler, worked great

Do you have to plug the back where elbow was after removing ? Or Jst npt through inside of pan and call it good

Quick question i need to do mine as well but i do not see or hear of anyone replacing gaskets on this job did you just reuse your gaskets?

How was the experience driving the truck after doing these upgrades?

Hmmm! So I'm doing a lighting conversion in my 97 f150 with a t56. Learning as I go.. so what is the purpose of this? Engine is on the stand now so now us the time to do this..
It recycling exhaust/carbon back into your upper manifold. Bring up the heat fast on warm ups. I'd do oil catch can to, so the oil does get recycle it back into your upper manifold. If you both of these your intercooler will never have to be pulled and cleaned. It's not a easy job in the truck but it can be done. Hope this helps.

Another question. I see everyone fighting like hell to get the elbow out of the lower intake is there a reason you can't just plug it from the inside and leave that elbow there? or does it thread to far in?
You have to take it out, not enough threads to have both. But you can install the plug form the inside. Good question

@@builtmikesway1167 just following up i finally did my egr delete and turkey pan mod and i didn't have to use a tap to get it started it went right in so weird i'm wondering if maybe different years the pan is tapped differently?

There's another UA-cam channel called boosted Dave who did the EGR delete he rerouted in a way that he didn't need to get a custom tune to delete the EGR function
Are you aware of this method? The reason I ask is my 97 E350 has a 5.4 2 valve as well and the EGR setup is similar
I am not, custom tune is the only to get rid of the dash lights after a egr delete. As far as I know. Hopefully that helps, have a awesome day

I always use new ones cheap insurance that you don't have to redo anything

Mine wasn't a problem, work it back and forth. Take you time. I hope it's works out for you man.
are you talking about the elbow on the back of the turkey pan in the middle at the bottom?

Yes the check engine will come on, I had a tune ready to install that fixed it. johnny lightning can help you there.
