- It's time for another power hour speed clean with me! I'll admit, this one didn't go quite to plan. I was supposed to change the sheets on my girls' beds, tidy up a little, vacuum and be done within the hour. The whole thing ended up escalating into a multi hour decluttering project instead! I hope you get some cleaning motivation from this speed clean with me.

My son had one of the taller beds for more space he has a small room but I found that it made the room feel even smaller because it’s so large he had a mid sleeper lovely kids rooms xx
Hi rhi I know exactly what you mean I change the bedand than have a good old clearout which takes longer ,but at the end of the day I feel a lot better doing it ,have a good weekend with your family x
I find I often do more than intended when cleaning but I do have to be ‘ in the mood’ to have a good clear out ! I usually only wash one bed a day too it’s just easier isn’t it! I a actually put the initial of whose bed I have washed on the day I do it in my calendar just as a reminder! X

My 4 year old is the same with the teddies. I no longer complain that they take over her whole bed as when she was really small, she'd insist on dragging them all downstairs every morning, and the softie that he is,my husband went along with it much longer than I thought he would 😂
Haha! I'm that person who starts to clean something and suddenly there is a massive explosion :D But I like to say that it gets worse before it gets better :D Lovely weekend to you and your family

You can get Kallax inserts with glass doors that you could use to avoid dusting some of the lego. They come with a shelf but you could just leave it out if its not needed. Unfortunatly the inserts only come in white so it might complicate things with Zara's "Pink Wafer" kallax, but it would probably work in Bella's and Will's rooms. I have a ton of billy bookcases in my room and I want glass doors on them to avoid dusting them as much (Unfortunatly they don't make glass half height doors in the ones I like so if we've ever any half height ones I'm thinking that glass kitchen cupboard doors might work as Ikea sell ones the same width and height that would look similar) as dusting books and all my ornaments is not a fun task.
The girl's bedrooms are gorgeous and who cares if they look like somebody uses them? You know what neutral, Instagram/ pintrest worthy rooms are? BORING. If a child wants a neutral bedroom than that's well and good, but its their space so not letting them have their room the way they want it seems stifling, not like a lick of paint wouldn't bring a room back to "sad beige" if desired.
What do you use if there's ever a stain on the carpets upstairs? I've always prefered a Dr Beckman carpet cleaner thingie which has a brush applicator, but dog hair tends to ruin the applicator (ESPECIALLY my pug's hair, I'm shocked she doesn't have alopecia she sheds so much for her size) so I've taken to decanting it into a spray bottle and using it with a rubber bristled scrubby brush I got from B&M for £2 (which also doubles as a lint roller thingie which is good as her hair gets behind the sofa cushions and is impossible to remobe with the hoover.) since I've never found the spray ones to be as good. But I'm thinking of asking to borrow a friend's carpet cleaner to clean our CREAM stairs and landing carpet (cream is never good with dogs but we didn't have dogs when it was laid 15+ years ago) as its looking a bit dingy and is pretty flat now. I've also used a rubber bristled broom to fluff up the fibres of rugs downstairs before so I could try that too once I know its actually clean. We only have carpet on the stairs, landing and in one out of 3 bedrooms (my room was re decorated in 2021 and I got laminate laid down as I've always hated carpet.) but I'd rather have laminate on the whole house if we could as dog hair gets pretty deeply embedded in carpet and is a nightmare to get out. The only problem with hard flooring on the stairs is that both dogs sleep in crates on the landing and our cockapoo runs downstairs at a million mph in the morning (jumping the stairgate if its shut) and would injure herself if the carpet wasn't there as speed bumps! (my mum had a labrador crash through a glass front door years ago so not risking that) I dislike carpet runners so I'd need to look into some form of clear grippy stuff that could be used instead before having vinyl or something laid on the stairs.
