- It's time to makeover Bella's small pink bedroom! We are getting rid of her little kid bed and having her new princess pink ottoman bed delivered! We have chosen an ottoman bed which had LOADS of storage, which is ideal for her small bedroom. I share some accessories that I have bought from B&M, then the bed is delivered and assembled. Then it's time to do something I may later regret and pull EVERYTHING out to sort, declutter and organise. I have some brilliant storage bags for organising under the bed and just wait until the end when you see her face in the room reveal.

My daughters wardrobe goes over our stairs and it’s amazing! Gives her so much more floor space in her box room. Def way to go!
I agree with daddy a wardrobe or even a small chill out space above the stairs is a great idea.

I’m sure your husband knows because he’s a very good builder. However I just felt I needed to tell you that we moved into a house where they had built a cupboard over the stairs just like you’re describing. It was to be my daughters room so we were doing it up before moving in, I stood inside that cupboard over the stairs to paint in it (I’m only 5ft2 so pretty tiny!) and I fell through it, landed on the bottom step and broke my back. I’m sure ours was probably just badly constructed but I thank god it was me and not my daughter!

Ah, we had a lilac blanket on our sofa a number of years ago that was from B&M and it looked IDENTICAL to the pink one in Bella's room and it was a great blanket... until we got our cockapoo 2yrs ago and she (and our pug when she came along a year later) chewed every blanket and cushion cover in the house😅😅 Our living room was lilac and light green at the time so it suited well, it was frustrating that we couldn't get more when the dogs chewed it BUT it might be worth keeping an eye out for a lilac version for Zara.
Whilst we've not got ottoman beds in the house, I've been saving bags from cushion inners, duvets, pillows, my hooded blanket thingies out of home bargins etc to store the bazillion blankets we have in the house. We go through loads with the dog's crates (1 shared 'medium' crate in the kitchen and a 'small' and a 'medium' upstairs) for our own use in the living room and 4 at a time for the sofa and 2 armchairs since with them being leather it protects them from damage, are easier washed than covers and makes them warmer to sit on/ less likely to stick to you. Pluds the pug feels the cold and lives under blankets/ up oodies this time of year so they get stinky/ hair logged fast and having 2 sets means they are hard to store. We have a blanket box in the living room but its always at capacity so at christmas when the christmas themed ones come out its impossible, so I came up with the idea of using the bags from pillows and duvets to store the christmas blankets in and for one set of the regular ones to be transfered into when the christmas ones are in use. We don't have ottoman beds, mine is a standard wood base tht I want drawers under when our house is renovated in the new year and my mum's a box base, but then the blankets can go in spare wardrobe space when not in use and hopefully be protected from damp. They may be handy when we're renovating too since we'll be living in it and the bags can be squashed down instead of taking up a finate amount of space in boxes.
I feel Zara's pain on purple shades being hard to find. My preference is for plum/ aubergine purple as opposed to lilac, but both are hard to find soft furishings in without resorting to amazon. I'm having difficulties finding a throw narrower than 200cm in plum since they're all lilac and the 2 200cmx200cm ones from Dunelm that I have are hard to wash and dry. I'd like more dark purple fleece blankets since I overheat VERY quickly at night and that makes (already hard to find) fleece bedding useless. I prefer to place a blanket over my sheet and either side of the duvet so I can add and remove as necessary, but finding ones to match that are smaller than my dunelm ones (only have a single bed so 2m by 2m is a bit oversized and heavy for over and under a duvet) is virtually impossible. I'm wondering if Zara might settle for a lilac valance and a lilac headboard cover over a bed the same as Bella's or similar if you can't find a lilac one.
