Another I'd toss out there is for the intended audience or platform: If I'm editing something for someone for a UA-cam gaming video, that's going to be a lot different, naturally, than editing a wedding video for example. The audience and viewing platforms are much different, therefore the pacing and purpose is different. Loved your insights as always!

UA-cam: Long enough for viewer retention
    TikTok: 4 frames max 😆

*1.* Awesome work with the thumbnail (and the camera angle when you filmed the video), those leading lines really help with the composition
*2.* Honestly, even tho you’re sick, your voice still sounds great and I don’t know what you did in the editing but it sounds much louder and fuller
*3.* The way you changed up the typeface a bit is such a minor detail, but it still makes a big difference to the overall edit and you really nailed it this time around. Especially how you tracked it to move with the camera angles/background, super smooth and it flows well.
*4.* When you started the video, especially by asking a question it felt a bit faster than the rest of it, so that slight bump in energy grabbed my attention quickly- also that humor is so on point, the fact that you included a clip of ibuprofen is such an Aidin Robbins thing to do 😂

Well, that is an intresting question 🧐 I think It mostly depends on what kind of emotions you want to bring to the viewer (as you said infact). This is something you and content creators like James Matthews explain well with great examples. But yeah, you are right, that is something we don't think about often!

Awesome message. I always learn something from your videos. You’ve given me the confidence to step out of my comfort zone and get in front of the camera. My new UA-cam channel addresses mental health in first responders. I am a 20 + year veteran Firefighter/EMT. I have helped others for over half my life. I may not be able to change the world but my message can be the spark that makes a change for the next generation of first responders. Thank you for giving me that confidence and knowledge for making and editing videos!

Thanks aidin for this amazing tutorial very well explained. Literally, i have finished just an edit before i watched this video and it’s very true that cutting isn’t something easy... takes times and it’s change every time in the theme of videos ( weeding- cinematic Travel film ... ) .
By the way, i really like the b-roll of the time line ... soo unique man .

This is such a great topic, and a subconscious one at that. I found a lot of your list to be spot on with some of the background calculations my brain is running during my own edits. Excellent work in breaking it down into a more conscious and informed decision making process when it comes down to those frame by frame details.

Man was this video good. Love your style of moodiness. I’m new at all of this, glad I found this channel. I’m using DaVinci resolve 17. It can be quite intimidating but I’ve fallen in love with all of it, especially color grading. Don’t know much, but my goal is to create something moody, like in the movie Togo. That’s what I’m going for. Or another example, Twilight. Love the greens and the blues in that movie. But I’ll take it one step at a time
