Lucky for me the ending is never a problem, because according to my analytics...no one makes it that far lol. Kidding of course, my mother watches the whole thing lol. Joking aside my beginning and endings are something I'm definitely trying to get better at, i think mine are a little too abrupt, so thanks for the tips. I know i need to plan more.
Great video. I use Final Cut and upload in 4K. However I use a 1080p project and then switch it to 4K once the edit is complete ready for exporting in 4K. I find this makes things a whole lot smoother and snappier
You should disable proxies before using warp stabilizer- since they're lower quality, you'll get a lower quality of stabilization. But when you run into an error message when using warp stabilizer, it can typically be solved by nesting the clip first!
I would be interested in a video showing your end to end workflow. I realize a lot of this is personal preference, but the processing issue made me think about what tasks I assign to my computer and when, and if that is slowing me down. Also related, is that when I’m sitting on a shit ton of footage I feel a little overwhelmed about where to start. Do you just dump all your clips into the browser and go from there? Shooting with the edit in mind has helped, but I still feel sloppy. Oh well, just need to make more videos!
As always, thoughtful advice about this craft. Funny about the "Maximize Playback" section with all the hype abotu the new MacBook Pro news. So many people are making videos editing in 4k or 8k on their timeline. Whatever. I never do that, even on my 32" monitor, even if I'm going to export in a higher resolution.
Adobe audition "remix" feature. Make any song any length with Adobe finding the cut point and stitching it together seamlessly. You shouldn't just randomly cut a song. I'm surprised you don't know this/didn't mention it
Great video and tips as always brother. Any experience editing 16:9 into 9:16 vertical video, a la UA-cam shorts? I always film in 16:9 for the regular channel videos, but want to experiment with vertical to try and push out some shorts. Any tips?
Currently everything I post on IG reels is shot vertical, but editing horizontal into vertical really depends on the clip- sometimes it works great, others not at all

Great video buddy! Would like to know how you work around the proxie-can’t-use-warp-stab ”problem”…
