Thanks for the recovery of one of our Gambler family. Too bad you cut out the parts where you were rude to the drivers also. It would only be fair. These guys are rarely dicks. These two have rescued more people, driven more miles, cleaned up for more years than you could possibly know. Everyone has off days, including you. Its a dick move to put tgem on blast. And i dont see the part where you chewed Seths ass either. Another amazing person, doung amazing things with no intent of glory. Way to really stir up shit instead of caring.
Oh shut up. I was not rude to them before this, but I and absolutely did TELL them to back down to an intersection and that we were NOT going to attempt to pass on that section of the road where they were trying to pull to the side. And I didn’t give them any option about that, because they were not getting any option about that. For everyone’s safety, that’s what we were doing, end of story. If that hurt their sensitive little feeling…. Too. Fucking. Bad. But then, this fucking moron that some of you want to worship so much couldn’t even keep his car on the road, tried to get to the side where I told him not to, and drove off the edge putting himself and his passenger in extreme danger for no reason. So yeah, at that point I absolutely am pissed off and am not going to sugar coat anything. But I’m also still going to help him out of the situation he put himself in. That is until he decides to run his mouth on top of it. At that point, fuck that idiot, he can stay there. As far as this Seth person you’re talking about, I have no idea who that even is. So no, I didn’t chew his ass. I also find it funny that so many of you Gamblers are jumping all over me saying that all these MANY different witnesses saw me being so rude before he backed off the edge. Well guess what…. There were only three people there at that point. The nun, his passenger, and the driver of the car ahead of him. So anyone else who told you they saw any part of the initial interaction is a dirty fucking liar. End of story. If you want to think I’m an asshole, hate me, talk shit about me, or anything else, because I was “mean” to someone who’s stupid decisions put himself and his passengers lives at risk…. Good! Have at it! Your opinions mean absolutely nothing to me!
@CaseyLaDelle I actually thanked you. Then talked about your behavior, not your character. Never talked shit about you, only here, to you. Never even called you names. I get it. Been in situations where I knew I was the one on the side of safety, been the one who felt I had to take control. However it is in extremely poor taste and yes a dick move to put people on blast to get more "atta boys" on your channel. Would you want someone to tailor their story to do that to you? Just putting it out there... no need to justify your attitude or behavior. And if other peoples opinions don't matter then why comment? Why tell your story again? Just food for thought
@@WendyKelley-n3v here’s where I have a problem with you and all the other morons jumping all over this for me. You are saying that I “tailored the story” or “made it look like”…. And that is straight up bullshit. What happened is what you saw. Don’t like it, too fucking bad. And as far as whether how this nun clown feels about it…. He saw the camera there and still decided to mouth off. If he didn’t want to look like a dumbass on camera, he could have simply kept his mouth shut and let me pull him out, or told me that he didn’t need my help. He CHOSE to mouth off in front of a camera, so no, I don’t care one bit about “making him look like…” anything. I film my work, and this is part of what happened on this job.
@@WendyKelley-n3vI took your, comment exactly how Casey took it. If you didn't intend your comment to come out that way you shouldn't have said it. There are many things off camera you don't see and that many tow truck and recovery operators have to put up with. I salute Casey with his patience and behavior. I would have just gotten in my truck and drove away.
It's his channel and it's up to him what is shown. If you have a problem make your own videos and stop being a keyboard warrior. Cassy does all this for free and doesn't deserve yours or anyone's negativity.
And yes, the rules are very simple…. Get an attitude, get f#cked. I told them not to even try getting to the edge of the road to pass, and to back down to the intersection where it was safe. And there was absolutely no way I was going to put my 11k pound truck that was towing a 5k pound Jeep on the edge to go around them. This clown could not even come close to backing up straight, and had no business being on a road like that with such little driving skills. He then picked WAY too small of a turnout like I told him NOT to do, and back off the edge of a massive drop. They already got an attitude with me when I asked them to back up in the first place, and he decided to get even more of an attitude while I was getting out the gear to pull him back on the road. So to put it simply, f#ck’em. If he’s not that concerned about the situation he’s in, neither am I.
DAMN! That was on hell of a recovery! You worked your ass off on that one! I applaud you for how you handled the "person" with the BAD attitude! 👏👏. Good job Casey! Thank you for bringing us along ! And of course multiple thumbs UP!! 👍👍👍👍
I don't know about the States, but in Europe the vehicle going downhill always has to give way! I had to back my Yamaha XT 200 about 100 ft down a very steep road, on my tippy toes, because there wasn't room for a delivery truck and I to pass.
Just like that slime coated waterfall one slip and Gravity will do a number on you , Once I found a dead deer at the bottom of a waterfall that slipped . a single track logging road is the same thing , aa friendly pow wow should have worked but people lost the ability to back up , my process is right arm back of the seat . left hand palm steering , turn sideways a little, crane the neck and no mirrors needed (car drivers usually don't practice backing up) That clowns ego and arrogance got him ... Hey your clinic on pins on google maps I learned a lot , no one has ever explained it before ...... You are good at it ! ! 🙃
"If you think you have so big truck, maybe you shouldn't be up here" :D :D :D Is this dude for real?? If he can't back up a car down a road, he shouldn't be driving a car up that road.
How good to know that mild, well-mannered, and polite Casey has his limits. I loved how you drove off and left the jerk who tried to drive off the road against your advice.
Casey, you are seriously a hero! I'm friends with the girl who was driving, and her boyfriend. I unfortunately couldn't make it out this year from Illinois, but as soon as I saw what happened and that she needed recovered, I told her to give you a call. I'm so glad she was mostly okay, and that you were able to help get her out of an awful situation.
tell her strap/bolt down the fuel bladder better next time and maybe build a nice STRONG cage if she is just going to toss shit in the back like a floor jack
@braxtonjones4699 of course it's me! We absolutely do! I cannot wait to see that thing in person. If you ever want help for a weekend on it, just let me know!
You handled those people in the car just like I have to people in the past. I passed a car stuck in the sand in the middle of the path to the beach, I offered to pull him back onto solid ground about 10 feet behind his car, he was rude to me so I drove by him. 2 hours later we drove back by him still stuck there and I just waved and continued on. There were only 2 vehicles an that path that day besides the stuck car, myself and the other vehicle that had no recovery gear, it took us about an hour to get to where we saw the towing company heading his way. Keep your spirits up and don't let the rude people get you down, keep up the great work.
@@CaseyLaDelleit’s the perfect size. Got the job done. I’m guessing that guy was just embarrassed that he mistakenly backed off the road. Which unfortunately made him act like an toddler.
I was one of the first to pull-up on this, the chick literally climbed up the hill and got our attention. Walked away with just bruises and scrapes. Couldn't believe it. God was watching her that day. I saw they took it to Gamblertown on a flatbed too, got to see it close up, out of the brush. Also I love how your truck was doing 35 up the pass, I thought my S10 blazer doing 45 was bad. Thank you for your service, sir! Happy Gambling!
My family and I survived the car accident me and my family were going camping out towards somewhere in Alberta open Hideaway big gusta wind took our truck and trailer flip 4 * ending on all fours we all walked out of there with scrapes and bruises luckily we had people behind us that got us out of our car big SUV 2004 Lincoln Navigator towing a 28 ft travel trailer
When someone ignores your instructions, while you're clearly the professional in the situation, it means they have control issues and there is no point in talking to them any further.
That was an amazing difficult recovery, well done. Just when I thought Casey was doing an add for a trail map that everyone is doing ads for, nope just google and free.

Your new company motto is a very old army saying -" The impossible we do straight away, miracles take a little longer." Well done on giving back to the numnut the answer he deserved. I suspect that most of us would have blown him off sooner than you did. Excellent job as usual, and very safely done.
That recovery was flat IMPOSSIBLE. What Casey did was astonishing, and even more that he pulled it off when the heat was getting him, especially with his "health issues". Bravo Casey! Too bad about the ONE jerk on the road, he got what he deserved.
Casey, the stops and side trips alone make your videos worthwhile. And your “I never said I’m good at this” expertise in recovery almost always teaches me something. Thank you.
Even when you’re way up in the mountains with steep terrain on both sides and you’re trying to get down said mountain on a narrow road in a tow truck with a wrecked Jeep in tow you can run into a$$holes. They are literally everywhere!
@@joebryant5793 Yeah, As i said in another comment up top : Well said, Yeah he gets an attitude he can sit there for a few days until he gets a lucky pull from someone else. If it ever happens.. I like how that man said, "If you can't get that truck around us on one of these pullouts maybe you should get a smaller truck"... with literally damn near the smallest wrecker you could get... Only thing possible is a shorter one but either way... this is about as small as it gets lol
Admiring your determination today, it looks like the hills and the heat are wearing on ya. You still going hard. Hope you are OK and not paying too heavily for this job.

And a gnarly mashed rig it was. Much smaller of a hook truck and it might not have had the balls (or the dual boom winches) to manage a yank like that. Mad kudos to Casey et al
Casey you do have sponsors. Sort of. It is us! We love your content. I love how Casey makes a flatland recovery look like a steep recovery. CGI animation well done!
Sounds like the ol school wrecker could use a new 4 core radiator, water pump, thermostat, hoses and flush. I had an 84 1 ton, 6.9 and it pulled hills like a champ, never attempting to overheat... Amazing video Casey. 😮❤
Kudos to your camera man who is becoming quite the skilled swamper in his own right. When you were sitting up on the high side of your tow truck rigging up and made the comment about how if you dropped something its a long way down, it very much reminded me of my days as an aerial utility lineman standing in a pair of hooks on a pole 90 feet above the ground. Everything we used was tethered. Nice work !
That was one amazing recovery! I do not blame you one bit about losing your cool with that idiot on the side of the road. I'm glad he got stuck, and I'm glad you left him there. It was a miracle that woman did not get hurt or dead. You and your co hurt. did an awesome, awesome job. Thank you very much for sharing, especially this one!😊
Only about a third through and this is reminding me of the recovery you did in the snow this past winter and the incline was about the same. You had mostly pines to negotiate then but pretty sketchy also. Since this is posted, guess you both survived so I’ll finish watching now. PS I know you do free recoveries now but good grief for this you at least deserve hazardous duty pay! 👌
Holy heck, I have never seen Casey so wrung out. That heat, at that altitude in the Pacific Northwest, is brutal. The sun up north is a butt kicker - I turns me into mush. I appreciate that you, Casey, were able to do the recovery safely. Thanks to David for being there to help and for the great footage. Super editing captures all the details. Hope you took a couple days to recover. I would have been toasted for a week after what you accomplished. Well done.
It was pretty obvious that guys was drinking and it was extremely satisfying to watch you drive off and leave him stuck. I've done the NY gambler a few times and it's always amazing people and a great time but just like anything else if you get enough people together you're bound to wind up with at least one obnoxious day drinker😂
He was either drunk or the worst driver I’ve ever seen. He couldn’t even come close to keeping his vehicle in the center of the road. Either way, a person like that should have never been on that road.
Dang.. that was a crazy recovery. I can't believe it rolled three times and they were unhurt. Glad for that. That guy at the end though.. dude.. You were getting out to help him too. A shame. Thanks for the video
As a long time Oregonian, this is a reminder that we have people go missing off road and aren't found. like the crash here, if those folks were trapped or injured, they would never be found. I suspect no one learned anything today. I feel Casey's frustration. 🌲☮️🌲
@outlawbillionairez9780 my favorite place to ride/wheel, camp is Diamond Mill 💎 Tillamook State Forest Oregon Coast Mountain Range pretty much straight up & down. Several years ago a couple campers didn't return from a late night drive.they were found several days later by one of the searchers walking. It's on the internet they were popular bar tenders. I've had some close calls and winched a couple quads out. Pay attention!!
@@speedfreak8200 I lived in Hillsboro for many years. Every weekend, Brown's Camp, the power lines, Jones Creek. Back to Back. No good spots for airborne road demarcations or excursion! 👍
Casey, that was so freaking awesome. The thought and ingenuity that you put into that was so impressive. Anyone that is not familiar with those kinds of mountains would never understand just how difficult this recovery was. Your partner in crime there, David, he did a really good job as well. Kudos to both of you!!
It wasn't difficult, as you can see, without the snatch block mounted high he wouldn't have been able to get the jeep onto the road. It's called experience
Awesome job! I would have loved to help with that recovery. And the way you dealt with the guy that got himself stuck, perfect! Got what he deserved twice, for not listening... Keep up the good work! Don't let some fools rain on your parade! Cheers!
Damn that was a helluva recovery! Nicely done! Extra props for taking the time to record everything and share it with us, I know that has to add a substantial amount of time to recoveries like this!
Great job Casey and David. The guy in the car might learn not to refuse a drink and tow when he's stuck in the 'desert' next time. That's if he gets a second chance. You tried to help him and that once more shows you really care. Be careful of getting too hot and stay safe.
Casey this video is why I say you are the best at what you do. Thinking outside of the box was the only way to do this recovery safely. I don't think most people would have even considered doing the recovery. I have never seen you aggravated normally you are calm, cool and collected. I don't blame you for leaving them stuck I would have to he didn't listen to what you said them had an attitude
This is not fun to you but explain how the job can be complicated. That makes a good video and how difficult it is. Thanks Casey. Don’t underrate your job. This is amazing.
Just shaking my head in amazement at all this. The insane incline, all the calculations to rig the cables correctly, all the set up to pull a crazy heavy 4x4 with your relatively light tow vehicle. So exciting to watch. And on top of it all, you got a guy dressed as a nun with the weirdest attitude problem ... targeted at a tow truck towing a fellow offroader. Unbelievable.
It's wonderful that you have so much support from your subscribers. You do so much good. Unfortunately, I'm tired of people using the "F" word when they're unable to express themselves without using that word. It's a shame that is an acceptable way to talk to another person. I wish you many blessings for your family, you, and your business.
Right on Casey. I am glad you put your stuff away and let him figure out how to get back on his way. Sad but I have seen people with an attitude meeting them on a narrow road like that even though those going up have typically the right of way. Sometimes common sense should prevail. Glad you just went on by.
A shame that one guy has to be a total jerk in a situation like that. Glad you put him in his place. This was an amazing recovery and I'm amazed that just 2 of you and one truck could do this... and catch it on an amazing video. Thanks for sharing.
What an epic rescue! You are a master professional Casey. Fantastic how you take your time and fully analyze the current situation. Completely understand your frustration at the end of the video with that “gentleman”. As you stated, I’m sure you asked him to get out of the way gently and he didn’t want to play nicely…. A+ Recovery. Love your videos👍🏾
Amazing job!!!!!!!!!! And camera work! That shot from showing you holding the camera and grabbing your water bottle, and immediately slapping the cam on your chest and going was incredible!! Love it! It so raw and real, it helps us be there with you!
WOW Casey…one of the most intense and difficult recoveries…I’m always impressed with your knowledge and abilities as well as your thoughtful and caring nature…may God Bless you in ALL your endeavors.
Fascinating, dangerous, and you are one smart man. I've been watching most of your videos and in my book you always find a solution. Too bad for that smart ass at the road. You were willing to help. That's life. Take care. Jan
I love the authenticity of your comment to the dude who pulled off the edge. Completely unwarranted response on his end. God forbid he swallow his pride for a moment and accept a lesson.
The camera might not have shown the slope accurately but things like yous sliding about and the bend on those trees for them to grow straight was more than enough to get the message across. Great job both of you managing to make things look relatively simple despite the terrain.
Casey, Back when I was in high school( k falls, grad 1967) I worked at the ARCO trucks top on n. Hwy 97. We had loggers from Eugene hauling around here. They were talking about big log loads.Back then they used 40' trailers fitted with 10' bunks. They would put a 4' tree on each side, and a 10' x 40' log down the center. They said it was enough lumber to build 4, 4- bedroom houses. I imagine they were hauling out of the Willamette forest. I have been fortunate to see this kind of load 4 or 5 times while we lived there..
I think of the side trips as Casey's guided tours of Oregon, love them. Excellent recovery on a bloody steep slope Casey and as for the bloke with attitude, I mean WTF was his problem? Well apart from apparently being a self-entitled arrogant idiot.
That was one of the few spots on that road with enough trees to stop a vehicle. If she had gone off anywhere else on that road this could have had a very different outcome
Brilliant job Casey, glad the lady wasn't hurt. I always find these blokes with attitude provide a bit of sport. Once struck a bloke on the beach in a brand new shiny Range Rover stuck up to his axles in sand with tyres fully inflated. He had his foot flat to the floor and was shifting from 1st to reverse and back, throwing sand everywhere. A mob of us in old scruffy bangers stopped to help, only to be abused by this now redfaced gentleman. We waited around passing unflattering comments, when we left we gave him a cheer and wished him a nice day. The poor fellow tried to explode and implode at the same time, but was even unsuccessful at that, the colour of his face was a sight to behold! A good time was had by all, of us.
Excellent video! You guys did a great job! One suggestion is add a length of rope to your kit. Nothing special about it, just when you have to scramble up a steep slope you don't carry anything but a coil of maybe 100' of 1/4" rope in a tiny knapsack or a shoulder bag. Get up there hands free and toss an end to your buddy below. Now use it to pull the tree savers, shackles and cable all up to you!
Another scary and wonderful recovery! Casey, you are good at what you do. I would imagine that a lot of tow truck drivers would never even consider trying to get that car recovered. The video work was wonderful and yes, I could see how steep it was, and I’m sure it was twice as steep or maybe 10 times as steep as what the video showed, David did a great job for you. And that old dude at the end, he is right where he should be, all alone, and stuck in trouble. Take care Casey and stay safe.
Wow, that was some seriously steep terrain. I hope the Jeep owner was grateful for your help. It's also a miracle they escaped serious injury and the wreck didn't start a forest fire. The terrain was unforgiving of any mistakes and it's obvious from watching the heat took a lot out of you. Well done! It's a shame that bad apple ruined your feel-good moment after helping someone out of a very bad situation because of their own bad attitude, ignorance and selfishness. Rest well, you have certainly earned it!
I think Casey just unintentionally came up with the best way to explain how steep a hill is. I stood up, put my hands out straight and damn is that steep. 😅
Casey, you kept your cool far better than I would have in that situation with the idiot going off the road. I've been on some sketchy roads and ran into a rig being rescued, and there was never any doubt in my mind that I was the one that needed to get myself and my rig out of the way because the other rig already had enough to deal with. If he wasn't smart enough or good enough to be able to back his rig to a point of safety, then HE was the one that needed a smaller rig, not you.
Definitely the most difficult recovery I have seen. It is remarkable how you utilized the limited resources available to marshal up that much pulling force given the rig you had.
Back in the mid to late 60s I worked for a gas station whom had a toe truck about the same size as yours, except we only had a single wench cable, and no under lift. I went out with the boss on some of his calls, and it was amazing what that wench would do on that truck. Your cable looked about the same size as ours, and we had to pull a car up a hill, and it blew my mind what that cable would pull. Your video brought back allot of memories of the work we did on that truck. Great job on your rigging this job and getting that jeep out off the mountain. Also glad the girl is ok who took the ride down that hill. Take care and I hope all is well with you and yours.
Y'all really earned it today!! Excellent job, great idea stabilizing the side load on the boom!! That was so steep it even showed on camera. Super excellent job leaving the folks with the attitude right where they were. Sometimes you just have to let people learn the hard way.
Casey i sat here and watched the video, i feel wore out, i definitely had a tough one this time, thanks for showing us how you got it out, glad to see that the driver was not hurt
That guy didn't need help, he was simply trying to make room for the tow truck. That he was greeted with the I told you so attitude is why he responded in kind. You get out of interactions what you put in.
Quick note about google maps. Turn on and leave on GPS. All Trails free version to track you offline is a game changer too. Start the tracker before you lose service so you can bread crumb your way back.
I agree with you 100%. Attitude is everything. When someone gives you instructions and they are driving a tow truck. They have knowledge about the area and roads that you don't process. Listen to them and shut up.
You sir, are a great Samaritan. Wish no harm, and very well done. Idiots aside, what a stink load of work!! Your cable and rigging skills, CLUTCH on this one!!
Oh my! What a vehicle rescue! I’m sure “fighting” the inclines was not much fun. You preserved and did it. Hope you were able to drink enough water etc to stay hydrated during the recovery. Also hope the person who picked up the hero at the gas station was appreciative of your work. Sorry you had such a jerk to contend when coming off the mountain! Blessings!🌹
That old timer at the end left me speechless. Really? You were right to leave him of course :) And what a nice recovery....I'm sure you won't forget this one for a while...
John is a great fellow. That this interaction went south all you need to do is watch who made the comments first. He was trying to be nice and give Casey room and got stuck for it, only to be immediately berated for being stuck...
@@icek9a Bullhocky. John didn't listen to a thing he was told and wanted to do things his way. He got stuck trying to give Casey room in a place he was told was to unstable and dangerous. He was berated for not listening and doing the safe thing which was to back down to a larger area like the other people he was with. And no this video didn't include all the conversation, Casey already stated he had asked the group to back up because it was unsafe to pass there. Doable and safe are not the same things. Maybe John should have considered Casey was driving a tow truck, with a jeep behind him and that's a hell of a thing to try to get down those roads. John was a tool.

"If you think you have so big truck, maybe you shouldn't be up here" :D :D :D
Is this dude for real?? If he can't back up a car down a road, he shouldn't be driving a car up that road.
How good to know that mild, well-mannered, and polite Casey has his limits. I loved how you drove off and left the jerk who tried to drive off the road against your advice.
Hard work, and exciting to wait for the guy who didn't heed Casey advice
Casey, you are seriously a hero! I'm friends with the girl who was driving, and her boyfriend. I unfortunately couldn't make it out this year from Illinois, but as soon as I saw what happened and that she needed recovered, I told her to give you a call. I'm so glad she was mostly okay, and that you were able to help get her out of an awful situation.
You are a very good friend. Tell her to recover at her own pace, she was seriously lucky!
Tyler ? Shit dude. We gotta hit a local gambler when I get my wrecker finished.
Please send her our best wishes. So glad she was OK. One thing's for sure, She has a Helluva story to tell at the next one. 💯

The absolute most gnarly recovery I have seen today with a small rig. Fascinating to watch. Thanks, Casey.

The camera might not have shown the slope accurately but things like yous sliding about and the bend on those trees for them to grow straight was more than enough to get the message across.
Great job both of you managing to make things look relatively simple despite the terrain.
Casey,
Back when I was in high school( k falls, grad 1967) I worked at the ARCO trucks top on n.
On this edition of Adventures with Casey we explore a nice water course. Then find a traveler that has slipped off the road a little 😊
I think of the side trips as Casey's guided tours of Oregon, love them. Excellent recovery on a bloody steep slope Casey and as for the bloke with attitude, I mean WTF was his problem? Well apart from apparently being a self-entitled arrogant idiot.

Working on those inclines would be enough for me never thought something so steep would let anything stop even with the trees
That was one of the few spots on that road with enough trees to stop a vehicle. If she had gone off anywhere else on that road this could have had a very different outcome
Brilliant job Casey, glad the lady wasn't hurt.
I always find these blokes with attitude provide a bit of sport. Once struck
a bloke on the beach in a brand new shiny Range Rover stuck up to his
axles in sand with tyres fully inflated. He had his foot flat to the floor and
was shifting from 1st to reverse and back, throwing sand everywhere.
A mob of us in old scruffy bangers stopped to help, only to be abused by
this now redfaced gentleman. We waited around passing unflattering
comments, when we left we gave him a cheer and wished him a nice
day.
The poor fellow tried to explode and implode at the same time, but
was even unsuccessful at that, the colour of his face was a sight
to behold!
THAT WAS AN INCREDIBLE RECOVERY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That was a tough one Casey but you showed your expertise for jobs like this. Well done to you both. That was steep. Thanks for the video.
HE has probably heard it often enough that was the first thing he thought to say.
I think I may have been inclined to push that fuckers car over the edge!!
Glad you stood your ground with that guy. It serves him right. Hope he has an issue getting out. Great job on the recovery process
Seriously, good for you Casey. Glad you left that guy there. Maybe from now on that guy will have a better attitude towards others who try to help.
That guy didn't need help, he was simply trying to make room for the tow truck. That he was greeted with the I told you so attitude is why he responded in kind. You get out of interactions what you put in.

And what a nice recovery....I'm sure you won't forget this one for a while...
