Skyrocket Toys has started to release their new line of Skyviper Drones just in time for fall! Here is my review of the v2400HD streaming drone. It has some very cool features like 720p video recorded to an SD or 720p streamed to your phone, auto take off, auto landing and auto hover, but also has a few bugs. Check out my review.

Thanks for the video. I spent 2 weeks in auto mode to learn how to fly this thing. Nice crisp controls. The lettered trim buttons are a plus. My only complaint is the color. The green and black tends to blend in when flying towards trees. I think yellow and white would have made this more visible in flight. It hovers well with little drift with no wind but is easy to correct if there is a breeze.
Battery charging (I have 2) takes about 30 minutes and I get almost 10 minutes of flight time from each battery.
Bottom line, this is a nice drone for the money. I really like it. Looking forward to the next generation.
For those of you that have it run away when you launch in manual mode you can adjust the trim before you launch after you see what happens when you launch the first time.
Just got this viper for valentines day from my wife. This is pretty darn fast and fun at full tilt I want to see what it would act like with thee blade propellers. It is sooooo different from flying a Rc airplane. I have a giant scale piper cub and an electric P-51 D mustang and this has more power and sharper flight responses then the wild P-51 mustang but I guess that makes it more rewarding to master its nature of flight. Very happy to have it in my aviation collection.

I'm 49, got my first drone today and so thankful it comes with a practice simulator before I go out and wad this one up on the first flight. Might spend a day or two practicing before I give it a go.
Wolfmots I started off knowing only about the manual flight, and ended up crashing so many times, come to it I find that there is an app, and auto flight😂😂😂😂

I have 4 drones and most of my drones are DJI's.I own two of these Sky Viper v2400's because I bring my son out to the park and we have a blast with this drone.The DJI's I own are strictly for photography and not for play.I have more fun with the Sky Viper anyway.This drone is not a piece of shit.If you want a good video drone then I wouldn't recommend this one.You get what you pay for guys!

Since you sound drone-u-cated I will ask you. I have had two Propel Orbit HDs. I have lost both of them. I was landing, came in at waist hi..then all of a sudden...SWOOOSH..straight up..and out of range. Then it flew over a wooded area which was really far away and I saw it land in the underbrush. Never found either

It is very likely that in 10 days, I will be flying one of these SkyViper drones. One of my friends got one during last Christmas, and they are going to allow me to fly it, and no words describe how excited that I am. When I get to fly a drone, it's a very very big event, and I'm always very very grateful for the ones I get to fly. This upcoming event will be very very big, as not only will I be able to fly that drone, but several other events will be occuring on that day as well!

I just bought this from a local box store ($114.00). This is my first drone and I feel that after some trial and error, I am beginning to understand its quirks. The trim feature does work but I find I have to make an adjustment at least once a day. For me, even on setting 1 for sensitivity, I find it a but touchy. Otherwise, it's a lot of fun, games altitude very quickly, and has good features for a 100-ish purchase. I just wish the camera was better

Aeroica Gaming hey buddy I've been flying for some time and have burned thru my share of toy grade quads....i would like to suggest a good entry level drone which i found a nice easy flyer that takes a little abuse...it's the promark vr at walmart. I've flown the crap out of mine with no issues until i smacked a telephone pole hard and screwed up a motor (no fault of the drone as hard as i hit it) also another great one is the sharper image dx4. I've came along way in my year and a half of flying and am flying entry level racing drones! This hobby is amazing! Good luck and happy flying

it is a good drone I flew it into my Pool on accident and was in there for like 10 minutes and I got it out and it still works but just to be sure always get the warranty

I just bought this drone. after reading some reviews a lot of people didn't have great things to say about it
I think for a lot of people this is their first quadcopter and they are expecting everything to be easy and it's not. It takes some practice to be able to fly it and be good at it. So I think people are just really frustrated because it's difficult.
yes I have a pair of vr goggles and that is what that top one is for but like you said not advised as a beginner like me

My V950 STR is not connecting to the drone camera. My phone gets connected to the drone but not the camera. Why?
There is a Kmart near me going out of business. Just picked up 2 of these for $75 each. Great buy for the money. Going to use it for Real Estate flyovers. Also, because it is so lightweight, it does not require being registered with the FAA.

Everytime i put it on auto launch and it just goes haywire and leans to the left and crashes....and on manuel mode i have propellers shut off

What do u think about the v2900 sky viper? Do u know if it Is a steady flier? I have to v1700 and looking for a better one. Is this better in the wind. What is geofencing and the gps on it?
I don't know much about the v2900 because I haven't flown it. It has brushless motors so it should be better in the wind. Geofencing means you can set boundaries on how far the quad will fly away from you. Not sure how well it works or how well the GPS works. I decided to pass on it because I wasn't really impressed with the video quality and I have a Phantom 4 so I couldn't really justify getting one. It seems to have mixed reviews online.
At 10:04 ,did you put those videos at the bottom corners 2 see the difference between the SD card recording and the phone recording?
+ClasicZGaming mostly to show the app in action and how well it works as far as video transmission but yes it does give you and idea of the quality difference from SD card and WiFi video.
what extra battery would you recommend?skyviper or other brand but still 3.7v and will any sd card suffice?
Any SD card will work...probably should have a class 10 for the faster write speed. The Sky Viper batteries are good, but any battery with a JST connector will work. You could probably get cheaper batteries but the Sky Viper ones are readily available.

There is definitely a bit of a learning curve when you first start flying quads, but if you practice you should get the hang of it.
Nice video! What I see through the Headset googles is a double or single image?

Any tips on getting the wifi to work on an iPhone 6. We see the Sky Viper network but once we enter the password shown in the manual we get an unsecured network message. Is the app supposed to still work on the "unsecured" network or is there a setting in the network connection we are missing?
I'm not an expert on Apple devices, but my guess is there is some sort of setting you need to change on the phone to be able to connect to the network.

I just got the 2400 .it has a great camera. but trying to fly it is pretty tricky .every time I push the auto take off it shots forward. I tried to adjust the trim.still no luck trying to trim it.there is no damage to it.why would it just want to take off forward like that.is the emf interference that effects it.
Mine has done that a few times...I think it's some kind of bug. I usually take off in the lowest rate just in case that happens.
I have trouble with app with WiFi connection it says connected but no internet.. in app it tells me to connect to drone wifi after connection
I was thinking of this or the Sharper image dx3 or dx4

Awesome video .. Been wanting something like this at a low cost .. Just a guess it would be wise to buy extra batteries with 7 1/2 minutes of flying time .. What is the charging time? .. Again cool video...
Thank you! 45 minutes to charge the battery. 7 1/2 minutes isn't bad for a toy grade quad actually, but yeah it would be good to get some spares.
How long do you charge the battery? Also, they only add the USB charging cable with no plug,. can I use any USB plug for the wall, or do I have to charge it on a computer?
Matthew Weltman, This video said about 45 minutes to charge. On ours, we weren't sitting over the charger, but it was ready when we came back in an hour. The light on the charging cable will turn green when it's ready.
We are using the little 1 amp charging plug cubes from an old phone charger. Its one of the plug types on which you can switch usb cables.
I just got one. do you know what the FPV function is on the app? when I touch it it goes to a splint screen. I'm guessing it's to use your devise in a virtual reality type goggle. IV tried to hold my phone close to my face and it does appear as one picture after adjusting the screen but is far too blurry to properly view.
Jared Bourgeois yes it is for a vitrual reality headset if you have one for a phone just tap that and put the phone in the vr and you can see from the drone

I would never fly( ,or more realisticly go bouncing off of things) while using a "streaming WI Fi " as FPV,the lag,glitchy freezing screen,and common loss of signal makes it a really good drunk drone flying simulation! There are some really good FPV systems available,somewhat economical.
Also, where is the option to record to the SD and is the footage in your video recorded on the SD or to your phone?
You can record to either the phone or the SD card. If you insert an SD card it will record to the card and not your phone. The video quality will be much better recorded to the SD card. Trimming the quad is normal....you may have to trim it every time you fly it. It definitely has some bugs but I think it's a good buy and a lot of fun to fly.

+Vic Childress it will hover in a controlled environment but any sort of wind or if you're not trimmed out perfectly it will drift.

How much lag do you get from streaming? Like how much offset between the quad and the video downlink? is it enough to make fpv non-feasible because I would like to get into fpv
+SoupOS fpv would probably be doable most of the time if it weren't for the downward angle of the camera. I'd recommend something with 5.8 ghz for getting into fpv like a tiny whoop or blade inductrix fpv.
I have the s1750 stunt drone when flying around housing areas it doesn't respond to remote .For the first 10 sec it's fine then it seems to have a mind of it's own it's like someone is over riding my remote.luckey it has a land button or I probably wouldn't have it byebye quad .when I'm flying in a open field it's great in 3 gear it will haul a** .Nice. little drone for the price. Needs more light for night flying tho.
I'm looking at picking one up tonight at Wal Mart, my only question is what I need as far as getting video to my phone. I only use the phone for wifi purposes to check fb etc and want to make sure I can get some videos with this one for the extra 30 bucks over the next level down in the store. I'm a total rookie into drones but if I get an SD card as well that will completely get rid of any problems I have with the phone right? Great video
Thanks! Yeah, as long as your phone can run the app your should be good to go and the SD card will give you better quality recordings.
Do you recall the name of the app? Might have to upgrade phones to be honest, old Iphone4 still lol. No chance it works with just the sd card if I had to go that route?

Got this drone for my sons birthday last week. Love it so far he is getting pretty good at flying it, the problem is every time we try the app it says no Sky Viper detected but when I check the phones wifi connection it says Sky Viper connected. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Not sure....maybe try reinstalling the app???

The first flight did you have trouble with it going up and down alot? I launched its for the first time and it rose to about 2-3ft high and then dropped to the floor, and back up.

Yes, I was in my garage with no wind. I ended up trying to take it outside and it didn't take off. I returned it and got another.
This drone is okay, but not great, but it's good for learning. One thing is that it's literally a tank. The connection got lost when I was flying it over a lake, so it landed in the water and sank to the bottom. After ten minutes of drying, back to normal. I was surprised. Then I rammed against our dock and it fell into the water about an inch but I flew it out. Lol, I'm not a bad pilot, just never flew anything before at that time. It's damn durable
PLEASE HELP😭: For a while now, (about a year now)I can't use this drone because of a problem. One of the propellers hit a wall while spinning and now it spins slower than the other proppellers. When you spin the propeller slowly at the same place everytime it makes a small tick sound, I DONT KNOW WHAT IS WRONG PLEASE HELP!!!!!
Gear and motor on the affected corner need to be replaced.
Clean your gears with a tooth brush. There maybe a small grain of sand in a tooth. Check the teeth also
if u just want to see the drone fly on your screen do u need an SD Card? If so do u put it in the drone?
+Will Busch you don't need the SD card in the drone to fly it or to see what the camera sees. You don't need to record if you don't want to. It will also record right to your phone.
I have this exact model and it seems to have a mind of it's own. When I auto launch, it takes off and sometimes falls almost to the ground and other times it just takes off 50 feet into the air without me touching anything. It also drifts in all directions randomly. I've tried adjusting the trim multiple times but it doesn't seem to matter. I can't fly it for more than 20 seconds before it just shoots up into the sky and goes in whatever direction it feels like, even against the wind if there is any. What am I doing wrong?
I'm definitely not in manual mode, the throttle is all the way down but after take off without me pressing anything it refuses to just hover. It just rises and rises and then drifts a random direction until I panic and hit auto land or it gets out of range and falls from the sky. I've lost this thing and had to go looking for it on multiple occasions because it took off without any input from me.
Auto hover is a little misleading...it doesn't really hover it's just supposed to hold it's altitude which works with varying degrees of success.
The way it flies is exactly the same as all the ones I've ever seen do! The Parrot used to be able to hover and fly pretty well until the last software update ruined it. Now it's pretty unstable then goes into a spiral and crashes!
That's so true.the drone just did this too me today.it was my second time out and it just started going up and up on it's own and then it just took of like it had its own flute plane and i had to push the land button and thank god that i had the camera going and i put it on video rite away and i found it dont understand the reason for this.it makes me so nervous to even fly it.after i just had my 2450gps drone do a flyway on me and to this day i still can't find it.Mabry this one was going to fiend the other one that i lost lol
My sky viper took about 10 minutes to charge, is that a bad thing? True, I've only charged it once, and that was the first time i used it. Do you think they all ready had it charged?

Haven't flown the s1350, so I can't really give an accurate opinion, but I think this one is larger and has more features with the app.
it was super fun to fly, but I had a HUGE problem with the drone just losing connection and falling to the ground. Brought it back and ...yeah never looked back.
+Eric Johnson I've had that problem a few times myself. I really like the way it flies but the connection issue is a big problem. I'm probably gonna come back with another video. I still like flying it but I would recommend flying it in an open area.

My drone doesn't take off I tried the auto fly and the manual by holding down the left thumbstick all the way down when I push the left stick up It won't do anything the drone was at 50% so I guess I need to charge it.It won't do anything and the propellers won't even spin. help anyone!!?

Just bought this one been flying drones for awhile now I lost my cloud Ryder today I was super high lost it in the woods lol.. but went picked this up for 109 and it's okay I like the live streaming umm I haven't flown it at 3 but I did fly it at night on 1 got pretty high in the air, lost signal but landed itself and flipped over. It's some flaws to this drone but I think the more you fly it the better your response. Trim settings are nice it cool it hovers itself and you can adjust to the wind overall I'll give it a 7 I'll see what it really do I find it better to fly at night with this one hard to see in the daylight but the live stream does help

Chris Walsh Most diff has signals flaws you could be flying 60yards out and it just drops not even that high of an altitude. But I do love the sensitivity on 3 I must admit pretty quick

I bought it to get photos of our RV campsites as we travel. I'd really like to find a way to angle the camera up a bit so I don't have to get it as high and far away for the photos.

Chris Walsh It makes no sense to me since the previous model has an adjustable camera. I've also experienced it falling from low altitude for no particular reason and not saving photos to the SD card reliably. My next drone will be one of the Hubsan ones you recommend.
Nice video. What happens if it loses signal will it land or fly away? Very important to me before I would buy one.

When I've lost signal it has landed itself safely, but this morning I was flying and lost signal...it landed but flipped itself over in the process and the props kept going for a while. I'm gonna do some further testing with this one and probably come back with another video. Thanks for watching!
Chris need to know can I use a FPV headset or do I have to use a cell phone.....
It uses WiFi for FPV so you're going to have to use a cell phone and not FPV goggles....more like VR goggles. Does that make sense?

No, these toy drones don't have great range. How far away do you get? You're not gonna get more than 100 feet at most.

What would be faster? This drone or the Sky Viper Hover Racer
I believe the Hover Racer is faster going in straight lines but the V2400 is more versatile and probably flies better overall.
Does it take up memory just to use the camera as a guide? Not to take any videos are anything, just to see from the drones perspective?
+Roacher it won't fill up space on your phone if that's what you mean. Just the application will use storage being on your phone.

2400hd scout drone is god i plan on getting A DJI soon when i get more money
range is supposed to be 350 ft also just an fyi if you search on amazon you can find up to a 2500 mah battery for this drone aftermarket of course you may have to change out plug end.
