This is a good drone. The only real complaint is how delicate the motor and propeller gears are. They also do not sell the motor gears so if it gets damaged you are out of luck.

Good review and very good flying from yourself. I put mine up today. First time. First flight with a drone ever.
Was next to a bowling green with 10ft walls around it. Wind took it over the green... Out of contact with my controller and died right in the middle of the green lol.
Had to climb and get it.
Some more practice and I think I'll have some real fun with my viper and drones in general

I like it ! The FPV wasn't working good but I note in my v2400 that on windy days the fpv was very bad, The drone looks good
Yeah, I feel like I got better FPV out of my v2400hd. This one is really laggy.

I really enjoyed your review, very insightful. I recently out of pure frustration gave the Sky Viper Journey a very harsh review and pasted that review on every UA-cam video I could find on the Sky Viper Journey. Let me explain why. Maybe you can help me. I've had this drone for about two months now and I really enjoyed it at the beginning. I had one snag of a problem that was resolved immediately. But then two weeks ago my frustration was mounting. I flew it one day and luckily I had the drone at a safe altitude because suddenly it just fell to the ground . No damage, thankfully. Long story short is it keeps doing this and a dialogue box keeps popping up on my screen reading GPS: HOLD OFF and then GPS: HOLD ON. I don't know what to do. I'm an amateur in this field of hobby, but I love flying this drone. My reason for the bad review is I've called the phone number provided in the manual for help only to get a message stated it was no longer a working number and the website is of no help for me either. Like I say, I am an amateur at this so if you have any type of solution, please help me kind sir.
I don't have any experience with the SkyViper GPS drones, but it sounds like your drone is losing connection for some reason.
I try to record but mine on has taken pictures how do you record ?

I guess you can call it skyviper 2450s just like how Apple upgrades it's products. BTW, love your shooting. Very professional looking and cool.

Hi: does it use the same batteries as the syma x5 range being 3.7lipo with I believe what they call a jrc connector, small 3pin plug?
It has a JST connector...red two plug port.
just got the v2450 GPS. Allows Ardupilot FC access and can tweak every parameter. Open source! $70 at toys r us. 3DR Rocks!

As far as third setting, can’t you change flight permitters on sky viper website?
Yes, I thought that was only a feature of the GPS version, but have since learned that you can.
I have different size vipers coming....4-ea 2450HD with FPV.
Anyways, i just found out ...You can go to their web site.
Have your drone and TX ON wifi....cell or pc.
Access the flight control menu....Dial in the yaw again.lol...or whatever
Basically sort of like having access to regular type TX menu....but still have stunt buttons.lol.
I'll have to wait and see til i get mine..It'll be totally sick. I'll have different 2450 set up to different things...I'll ditch the camera on a couple of them so I can toss it around more
and get more flight time . :-P
Yeah I bought one last year around Christmas and was never able to connect to it's WiFi even with password I created. I've since forgotten the password and it just keeps on failing to authenticate. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
The password has to be exactly 8 characters, no more, no less. This kept throwing me until I figured it out

Sd card,dont try it on phone,it will go around 10-15 fps

Chris, What is the difference between video feeds? The left one is phenomenal. Right one sucks..much like what I get on my feed
The left is the recording to the SD card and the right is the live feed from the drone as you're flying. I'm trying to see if I can adjust some setting in the app to get a better picture.

You can change the flight parameters and what-not by accessing the internal router. When you connect to the wifi, hit the info button and get the IP address. Then paste it into a new web browser.

I have a problem with my Sky viper v2450hd. I have this camera problem that has this showing some violet colour every time when it's expose to bright light or sunlight but my other functions works pretty well but my camera is not okay.
Sound like it doesn't have an IR filter. It must be defective...I would take it back.

The lag is just from the signal being WiFi and not 5.8ghz.

Yes, an SD card will give you better quality.

No, this one is WiFi fpv and it doesn't work very well.
I just got this yesterday and i tried to connect my phone to the drone( the sky viper 2450) and it says the wifi password is viper...BUT the password wont work due to the wifi requiring more letter in order to click the connect button...i have a lg g4 btw...can one help me out on this?
+Sam Macy I think you have to set the password when you first launch it. That's what I had to do. I just made my password 12345678.

Not too far for these toy grade ones. It kind of varies but I wouldn't go more than 50 yards or so...
I don't know about horizontally, but I do know with my drone vertically as in height. My VIPER went 162 feet before I lost a signal if that helps. But don't worry if your drone is the Sky Viper Journey GPS model it will come back to you if you get it out of the transmitter range.
Is that choppy recording to the right what you see on your phone while your flying the drone. I'm looking for a drone that has smooth video quality during flight.

Yeah, it's the signal coming back from the drone to your phone.
I have the 2450 and use an internal SD card that fits in the drone itself. The video that is captured on the SD is much better quality than what is streaming to your phone.
Actually it's not laggy, I'd recommend a Samsung Galaxy s6 or up or else you will get lag I even tried it myself and it isn't laggy

Not the greatest flier in the wind. You'd probably want to go with something with brushless motors for windy days.

Thank you! Something like the MJX Bugs 3 is good because it has brushless motors and isn't very cheap, but still flies well and can handle your average windy day. You can also mount a GoPro to it and get better video than one of these Sky Vipers.

It would depend on the generation of Ipod but i'd have to say no because ipods are old tech and the app needed to run the drone probably wouldnt be compatible with even the newest ipod.

I don't think so, but I never mess with headless mode.
How long can you fly on a full battery and is the drone water resistant?
+Dre TheBxGIANT it can fly for about 7 1/2 to 8 minutes with the included battery. There is a battery available that can double that flight time allegedly though. It is not water resistant.

This thing is garbage. Just opened it after watching this video and was super let down. Battery hasn’t lasted more than 2 mins of flight time and can’t get it to go more than 20 ft away without losing input response.
