It's really about the perception of sound quality like Lew said. If you feel like the bass is lacking, you should block ambient bass to it 'feels' more bass-like. So no, noise cancellation from people talking isn't necessary but it does actually improve sound quality to some extend!

I have the first version and regarding price and sound quality I am super happy with it. It also comes with an audio cable and a mic on it for cases that you are out of battery or don't want to use Bluetooth HFP for a meeting call.
Mine broke twice, and the fact that they can't even be paired to 2 devices at the same time makes the Bose NC700 a winner even if the Sony sound a bit better.

I think you find the Sony more comfortable is because you wear them regularly so your used to them , and they get less light over the time and the padding becomes a little softer etc, I know this bc when I upgraded my headphones, the new ones were less comfortable at first, but then after wearing them for 2 days, they overtook the old ones.
that dedicated mute switch + noise cancelling is a game changer for professional/work purposes. As someone who goes on conference calls regularly for work, having a dedicated hardware switch to mute my headset/mic is an awesome feature.

the best thing about the surface headphones is really the multiple device connectivity and quick switching. In these days of the zoom conferencing, the hardware mute button has also been a godsend so I don’t have to be tethered to my desk to mute/unmute during meetings.

One thing I would like to see that a lot of reviewers gloss over is PC functionality with these headphones. I have had all sorts of problems with both Bose and Sony headphone PC Bluetooth because they seem to be built around an app ecosystem.
Smaller UA-camrs after 3 weeks of testing: We’ve listened for hours at end. Pressure around the jaw after 45 minutes, rests on the crown too tightly...: 500 views after 2 weeks. Lew after one minute of testing: Whoa these are more comfortable! 1 million views in 24 hours.

I recommend people don’t get them, they are so fragile I have had them for less than a year and they have broken in 3 places 😐

What did u like about them? I just returned mine bc the sound quality was terrible IMO. Better through cables tho but still way too mid bassy

I’ve tried all these you’ve posted , but these blue parrots are crazy , noise canceling not only in the headset , but when speaking into the mic , whoever your talking to can’t hear the back ground noise , plus you could easily walk 30ft away from your phone and they still deliver superb quality sound for you and the person your talking to , great sound for music and water , dust resistant, you need to try these with a battery life well over 25 hrs
