Having used the Surface Pro for a year and then switching to the Surface Book (now on my 3rd year with it) it is much more comfortable to balance it on a lap, on the bed, etc... The Surface Pro though was better as a tablet. Anyway, the design is still great and unmatched in terms of versatility for people who wants to take advantage of its features.
I've got the Surface Book 2 and it really shines when you've got the pen, it's a fantastic little photoshop machine. It was also powerful enough to act as my main 'desktop' computer when that died for me for about 6 months lmao which was really cool, had to buy a dongle to be able to connect a monitor though. Now I just use it to run minecraft servers :d //Also looking at the specs this is not a huge upgrade over the Surface book 2, just a slight spec bump as far as I can see, might be able to grab the 2nd gen for a good discount now
I've been using my Surface Book 2 for 2 years now. Most problems are in the hardware. Screen wise, it is a complete finger print magnet. Laptop cover can be easily scratched and bent after repeated use. Its pretty heavy tbh, affecting portability. Only the display and speaker impresses.
@@jintse5987 yeah, lots of problems which should not be there at this price point. Aswell there have ben lits of software problems and broken displays. At the end of the day i prefer going with a Lenovo Thinkpad x1 Yoga, it have also good specs but no hardwareproblems.

Seriously, as a person who travels a lot i need a robust device. I'm very curious about the X1 Fold, it actually takes this formfactor into another level. Lets see how it performes.

I hope they improve the hinge. Been using Book 2 for more than a year, the most recurring Im facing is the hinge loose-ness that make the Book 2 keep switching between Tablet and Laptop mode. But other than that, its an incredible machine.

For Surface owners, the enviable feature is being able to put that thing on your lap or a tiny desk without fearing that the kickstand would go over the edge.
This is a really nice thing. It's odd though, when this launched it was so modern feeling. It still is, for sure, but wish they would have made smaller bezels and increased the touch pad + thunderbolt (duh, why doesn't it have it). With that, it would really be a great thing to replace all most of the stuff in the home and on the go. 1660ti? That would sort out gaming, even if you couldn't play high on everything, totally playable.
I really wanted this version of the SB that you said here and I waited for a year, but sadly this year Microsoft stopped the manufacturing line of this perfect product and made surface laptop studio which I think brings nothing more than the surface pro devices except more powerful spec or a hardware keyboard! I wish we could have Surface book 4 in the matte black color with smaller bezels and the 3050i graphic card and more improvements on the design! That device would be my number one gadget ever.
No it does happen. If the connection isn't perfect (As may be the case sometimes when the system is shaken) the game will instantly close despite the tab still being attached to the base. It's nothing serious, but when it does happen, it can be annoying.
They should make it so the surface pro has the accessory keyboard that is from the Pro and then only make it in one size so its cheaper to produce. You could buy the tablet then later down the line if you need a laptop / more horsepower you can get the base accessory. Then if you want to upgrade and get a better top half in a few years you can buy just a screen and keep ur old base?? What do you guys think?

I got the first one (I was one of those who couldn't help but go 'wow' when the announcement video showed the tablet portion detaching). It was a capable laptop but didn't click with me. It was a bit too heavy, and the detach/ attach wasn't quite working 100% both in hardware and software. I was looking for some more advancements/ improvements with this 3rd version (which has been 4 -5 years now).
my second gen model never had bothered me with detatching and attaching but yeah it's still a lot heavier than most laptops out there. since they haven't changed much on the third gen is gonna be similar to the second gen with a little more power
What a cool idea, its like a perfected 2 in 1 laptop. 2 in 1 are usually fatter too, but if u remove the keyboard, it really turns into something special lol. The only thing this needs is to be more fit and skinny or smaller sides of the screen.

I have the SB2 and it is the best webcam I have ever had and it has not changed on the SB3. I get comments all the time and it just does the job really well.

Yeah look like the memory, storage, and wireless specs (BT 5.0 and WiFi AX) are the biggest differences but there are lots of little upgrades too.

For Surface owners, the enviable feature is being able to put that thing on your lap or a tiny desk without fearing that the kickstand would go over the edge.

This is a really nice thing. It's odd though, when this launched it was so modern feeling. It still is, for sure, but wish they would have made smaller bezels and increased the touch pad + thunderbolt (duh, why doesn't it have it). With that, it would really be a great thing to replace all most of the stuff in the home and on the go.
1660ti? That would sort out gaming, even if you couldn't play high on everything, totally playable.
I really wanted this version of the SB that you said here and I waited for a year, but sadly this year Microsoft stopped the manufacturing line of this perfect product and made surface laptop studio which I think brings nothing more than the surface pro devices except more powerful spec or a hardware keyboard!
I wish we could have Surface book 4 in the matte black color with smaller bezels and the 3050i graphic card and more improvements on the design! That device would be my number one gadget ever.

No it does happen. If the connection isn't perfect (As may be the case sometimes when the system is shaken) the game will instantly close despite the tab still being attached to the base. It's nothing serious, but when it does happen, it can be annoying.

They should make it so the surface pro has the accessory keyboard that is from the Pro and then only make it in one size so its cheaper to produce. You could buy the tablet then later down the line if you need a laptop / more horsepower you can get the base accessory. Then if you want to upgrade and get a better top half in a few years you can buy just a screen and keep ur old base?? What do you guys think?

@@neoperol it was 2019 when i bought it the performance was pretty nice except some high temperature while gaming in non AC room during summer, although i was happy with it but now after WAtching this, it just blown up my mind..

I got the first one (I was one of those who couldn't help but go 'wow' when the announcement video showed the tablet portion detaching). It was a capable laptop but didn't click with me. It was a bit too heavy, and the detach/ attach wasn't quite working 100% both in hardware and software. I was looking for some more advancements/ improvements with this 3rd version (which has been 4 -5 years now).
my second gen model never had bothered me with detatching and attaching but yeah it's still a lot heavier than most laptops out there. since they haven't changed much on the third gen is gonna be similar to the second gen with a little more power
Our company has about the 200 book 2 and 40 surface book 1s and no issues with anybody them

I have the SB2 and it is the best webcam I have ever had and it has not changed on the SB3. I get comments all the time and it just does the job really well.
