As much as I like Brennen and (some) Chaosium, this one is my favorite because, unlike every other online RP stream I've ever seen, it feels natural, like a kitchen table session, like the cameras are off, instead of try hard.
I have to say... For some reason, video actual-play episodes have never been able to hold my attention. Audio podcasts? Fine. Video? Can't do it. Until the first installment of this scenario. Since then I've been bingeing Glass Cannon videos. These guys are amazing. And Seth, you're always fantastic, so this is just the ultimate in actual-play presentations. Thank you for introducing me to this group.
Same for me, tbh. Although I’m pretty picky even with podcasts. This and The Lovecraft Tapes have so far been the only ones able to grab my attention. Probably because they’re pretty similar in tone/themes.
Chaosium’s Australian live play crew is great too. Clever and entertaining, but it’s real play .. not the Los Angeles style actors trying to get noticed style roleplay.
@@sub-jec-tiv I'll check them out. I'm not a fan of over-the-top productions, either, when it comes to actual plays. And what I've identified after watching GCN for over a year now, is that I'm mostly drawn to how much fun these folks are obviously having. More reminescent of actually playing with friends at a table than any other I've seen (to date, anyway).
Watched it live. It was a delight. I think we naturally want to see what the creators of channels like yours are like when they run and play games. Happy you did this collaboration!
I watched it live and I’ve still been counting the minutes until this was posted. Just such a fantastic two-parter. I’ve wanted this collab since I started following you and GCP, and I’m thrilled to say it more than lived up to my hopes and expectations! This was a fabulous blend of laughs, mystery, darker tones. Ultimately: a LOT of fun. Thank you again!
Thanks so much for giving us this experience, Seth. I read your previous comments about why you don't normally do live play, and totally understand it, but it was a real treat to get a taste of it, especially as a long time Glass Cannon and Skorkowsky fan.
Since I posted some quotes I liked on the last video, I've made a little collection for this video as well: - "Is everything okay?" - "Yeah, I just tried breaking the phone over my knee, but it didn't work and now my knee hurts." - "So a couple of things are going to happen..." - "I'm going to poop my tactical cargo pants." - *really raspy voice* "THERE'S NEVER A BETTR TIME T' DRINK!" - "What is this thing...?" - "IT'S A GUN, DYLAN!" - "Does he meet the description of...Scott Parker?!" - "Does he have any alcohol?" - "I've put points into dodge, but I'm fucking crazy right now, so I'm gonna fight back."
That game was a blast. Hope to play CoC with them again one day. Troy was a awesome Keeper. I did end up doing 2 Seasons of Traveller Skid and Matthew since (crossing fingers for Season 3).
I can just see Alex Jones ripping his suit jacket off while freaking out and running in there with his rifle while his eyes are kind of bugged out looking because of the night vision camera lmaoo great story telling!!
Loved it. Never listened/watched live action RPGs but if the other ones are just half as good as this I will definitely dig into more of them. Great fun! Best roleplaying scene is when the intern says “yes” and just gets back to his phone.
I usually have a really hard time sitting through live playthroughs with many of them having extremely long character/player introductions, tendencies to get way off track or just poor audio/video quality but I have to admit that I enjoyed this 2-part series. The characters were entertaining, the group stayed focused and the Keeper kept the story moving. If you get a chance to game with Glass Cannon again, I will definitely check it out.
I usually get bored of actual play games. But the voice acting, humor, improvisation and teamwork is so enjoyable that I’d listen to more from this group.
I'm only 5 minutes in, been waiting for this all week. Thanks Seth and GCP for making this happen. Would love to see more of this in the future. You've introduced me to both Call of Cthulhu RPG AND GCP so have a virtual beer as this has inspired me to get back into DM'ing after 2 years away. Lots of fun.
That was pretty good! The Self-Sacrifice at the last minute was inspired! I'd have probably let him overcome the paralysis to do it himself, just to be dramatic! I subbed to their channel because of this one shot!
As a new CC keeper, i would LOVE to see the prep material that was used for the game so you had all the flexibility to fully roll with the players choices.
I caught this live, but I had to give it a rewatch. Awesome collaboration, I'd love to see more of it. I've been a longtime fan of this channel, but this introduced me to Glass Cannon, and I've been binging New Game who Dis? all week. Successful Cross promotion! Much love to both you and them, and I wish you all the success in the world.
These two videos introduced me to the Glass Canon Network and they're so entertaining! I've been making my way through their Starfinder playthrough of Dead Suns, Androids & Aliens, and it's been hilarious and really interesting.
Great job to everyone involved. This was amazing! I was listening to this while driving home from work and I had to pull over bc I was laughing so hard. I hope you and the glass cannon folks do another game at some point. Thanks again!
Thanks. I'll be joining Skid and Matt for a Traveller campaign soon. It'll begin recording later this month, but no clue when it'll begin releasing. Though it'll be on Glass Cannon's channel rather than mine.
@@SSkorkowsky That is awesome! And thank you for the reply and all the work you do! I have to let you know, I fanboy big time and brag to my players that I get replies from Seth Skorkowsky. We've discussed doing it again. We'll have to see how schedules align as to what and when. Though any future collaborations will almost certainly be exclusive to their Twitch and UA-cam rather than on mine. The fact that my channel hosted it on UA-cam this time was a special treat. I hope their channel has gotten some new Subscribers from people who watched this game.
Third time watching, it's always a delight coming back. Every time I notice something new and laugh at the jokes even harder. The atmosphere of this whole playthrough is so unique, cosy yet thanks to Troy's fantastic delivery, the subtle background music and the overall theme, so sinister and surreal. My favourite joke in this part is Skid reporting from Deepest Flushing. The fact they are near a septic tank makes it all the more hilarious, and I had to look it up. Cannot believe there actually is a place called Flushing, Queens. I'd say whoever named that place was taking the piss.
It was a really good group, group dynamics is one of the most important things in roleplaying, maybe the most important and everyone played off eachother and came up with different ideas instead of half the group doing 90% of the playing which is pretty common. Fun to watch anyways. :)
So awesome. I think the freelance 'UA-camr' news team lends itself quite well to modern CoC. I had heard there was a variation of 'The Haunting' that kind of has that particular vein of flavor to it for a modern setting. (Edit: ...I'm a dingus, I think that was literally in Seths video on The Haunting...) Whether this is the first of a few, or if this was a one and done it was still an absolute treat to witness.
I ran some players through The Haunting with this set up and it went great. They even kept Jack the NPCameraman alive through the whole thing and The Crack'd and Crook'd Manse
Awesome to see you actually playing and what a phenomenal scenario and great group of players and GM. I hope you have more opportunities like this and share them with us.

Darn, I was hoping when he started saying "trick of the light" that he was going to reference the Men in Black scene about swamp gas catching the light of Venus off a weather balloon, or however it went. Man, if the opportunity came up to get art done of the scene of the four of you following the trail as Chuck was filming, I might be willing to spend money on it. All of you wearing Go-Pros, reporter with a freshly discarded jacket stalking forward with a hunting rifle, cameraman with on hand steadying the camera and the other holding a leatherman knife, producer white knuckle holding a tire iron, and the intern with a chain wrapped around his arm and bolt cutters in the other hand. That just feels like a priceless image. That combat was a blast.
