As someone who knows absolutely nothing about RPGs, Dom is really carrying this for me. Everyone else is hilarious and clearly having fun, but Dom is just brilliant. He's making the rules easy to follow, his narration is incredibly immersive, and he's getting to flex his considerable acting chops. Hopefully he sees this comment or someone shows him because he's really outdone himself.
If you don't already, I highly recommend his podcast The Apocalypse Players. I'm currently listening to their adventure Machine Tractor Station Kharkov-36 and while the audio quality is a bit rough in the first two episodes, the atmosphere makes up for it. Dom's a(n excellent) player in that particular scenario, but he's the Keeper for some others like the first one, the Cracked and Crooked Manse.
Literally was about to comment the same thing when I saw this. I have absolutely zero knowledge of RPGs but Dom is really making this super easy to follow and grasp whilst also still engaging in the storyline. Bravo 👏🏻
Dom is one of the few who can run games like these and it's not even slightly cringe, which is very difficult to do because RPG's are inherantly at least a little cringe. Great stream!
I couldn’t agree more. Admittedly, this was my first time watching a NRB video, but as an avid watcher of different RPG streams, you ALL are so much more talented than the majority of the established RPG streams out there. It would be a waste of wonderful talent if you did not commit more time to TTRPG projects. I’m certain they would be incredibly popular, as I’m sure this series is, and will be in the coming episodes. Thank you!
I love this episode (to the point I'm rewatching it again) but I'm not a fan of their Fiasco play through. Maybe it's because Dom gives proper guidance, but if they do more (which they should), it should be stuff with a GM curating the experience. Fiasco at times felt off and too random.

I stumbled across NRB when their playing Jamaica was a fresh upload. I have done much catching up since, days and days worth of watching and rewatching. It feels about time I commented again though as I think this video is certainly worthy! Dom is an excellent D/GMaster. Loving the storytelling, and getting drawn in by the evolving narrative, although I am slightly distracted by the magnificent ‘stache. i ❤️ Dom, he's really such an amazing Keeper. glad to see a plug for Apocalypse Players, which remains my absolute favorite Call of Cthulhu podcast to date!
Thanks. It is rare to hear people reckoning that Call of Cthulhu wasn't invented by Lovecraft alone. Indeed, Robert E. Howard and Clark Ashton Smith played a significant part.
I like that Dom personalized Terie's NPC by making her a French maid, because (as has been subtly hinted on the channel several times) I think Terie might be French.
What a fantastic start to this series! I'm fascinated by Call of Cthulu DnD stories, and am honestly inspired to try and take part in one in the future.
I've noticed from the times that they've done role playing that despite the fact that, unlike most of the crew on NRB, Laurie didn't go to acting school and is not a professional actor, he's really good at it!
Its always fun to go back to the very beginning of it all. When this was likely meant to just be a spooky little miniseries for Halloween. And now its one of the biggest things on NRB so much so its got its own channel. It goes to show how anything could be the start of something beautiful.
This is fantastic. RPGs are well suited to the chemistry you all have together. It would be great to see more RPGs played on the channel. Can't wait for the next episodes!
I just wanted to say thank you Dom for being such an inspiration. I started my planning for my first call of the game because of this series and 'the apocalypse players'. I cant wait to see what you and all your friend/cohosts do in future.

Credit where it's due - Dom is bloody fantastic from the first second. You can tell he's really relishing this, but his presentation along with his concise and clear rule clarifications throughout really elevate this. The whole cast are awesome as always. River Proletariat is genius. Everyone having a great time, and it shows.
Absolutely love this and can't wait for the next! Dom you're a fantastic GM. Excellent judgment, atmosphere and eloquence! I've subscribed to your podcast 😀
Watching Dom come for 5e was more enjoyable than I care to admit! (For context, I love 5e, D&D was my first roleplaying game, but I've spent years trying to get people to play something that isn't D&D so there's a strange sort of joy in seeing people sass it) Also, damn what a game. By the time Sully had introduced his character I was thinking 'well this is going to be a beautiful disaster'. Can't wait for the next two parts. AMAZING WORK NRB!

Its always fun to go back to the very beginning of it all. When this was likely meant to just be a spooky little miniseries for Halloween. And now its one of the biggest things on NRB so much so its got its own channel. It goes to show how anything could be the start of something beautiful.
Played this with mates for near on 10 years, so happy to see a channel I am a fan of having a go at it
Yes! I'm so glad TTRPGs are finally here. And Call of Cthullu is such a breath of fresh air. I'm beyond excited for this
This is fantastic. RPGs are well suited to the chemistry you all have together. It would be great to see more RPGs played on the channel. Can't wait for the next episodes!
Love. This. Getting to see the gang tackle an RPG campaign, and Dom getting to take the reins, should be incredibly fun
The surprise upload of this video is proof that there is a God. And he is merciless. And his name is Dominic Allen.
Was not expecting this but easily the best content on the channel. Dom absolutely nails this. Production is phenomenal. Love it! More please
I just wanted to say thank you Dom for being such an inspiration. I started my planning for my first call of the game because of this series and 'the apocalypse players'. I cant wait to see what you and all your friend/cohosts do in future.
Look, I don't have the time to watch this now but I will in the next days and I just want to say that from the first 15 seconds I already know this will be one of my favourite things you guys have done....and that says A LOT. Can't wait to watch it.
I can't even tell anymore how often I watched your call of cthulhu episodes. They're some of my favourite youtube videos ever. I hope you'll do more sometime ❤
Dom the best boi running Call Of Cthulhu it's like Kalloween has come early.
Me: Opens phone, sees Dom behind the screen on a game of Call of Cthulhu, changes pants after a bit of a mishap, opens phone again, presses play, smiles.
Okay, now I'm curious. What type of mishap did you have?
Credit where it's due - Dom is bloody fantastic from the first second. You can tell he's really relishing this, but his presentation along with his concise and clear rule clarifications throughout really elevate this.
The whole cast are awesome as always. River Proletariat is genius. Everyone having a great time, and it shows.
This is going to be incredible!
This is amazing work. I utterly love it. I hope the channel can do this again in the future, because it is epic fun.
Absolutely love this and can't wait for the next! Dom you're a fantastic GM. Excellent judgment, atmosphere and eloquence! I've subscribed to your podcast 😀
Watching Dom come for 5e was more enjoyable than I care to admit!
(For context, I love 5e, D&D was my first roleplaying game, but I've spent years trying to get people to play something that isn't D&D so there's a strange sort of joy in seeing people sass it)
Also, damn what a game. By the time Sully had introduced his character I was thinking 'well this is going to be a beautiful disaster'. Can't wait for the next two parts. AMAZING WORK NRB!
D&D is fun but sometimes I want to play things that are lkess complicated, more roleplay and shenigans less rulessssss.
Your parenthetical statement is literally my life right now
YESSS I’ve been waiting for RPGs on this channel, and I’m thrilled it’s run by Dom’s dramatics
I played this RPG many years ago (amongst others), it was always one of my favourites - I have just stumbled across the channel this is absolutely wonderful, I look forward to spending many hours with you!
I LOVE LOVE LOOOOOOVEEEE THE ATMOSPHERE OF THIS GAME. I CANT WAIT FOR PARTS 2 AND 3.
Dom is a Cosmic Horror all his own. Well done.
