Bookshops of Arkham really got me invested of this format or live RP, I never dwelled too much previously in similar ones but the characters were so greatly acted out and the story and dynamic and world was immensely compelling.
Last season, Patrick Logan was a thug. This time he's a doctor. The accent shift is ridiculously aweso.e, going from American brute to English gentleman.
I lived in "Arkham Country" for a number of years. The actor playing NPC/quest-giver did an admirable job of combining New England and TransAtlantic received pronunciation.
@@chloe-historyandgames Transatlantic is a mishmash of a bunch of English-language accents made up of all the accents the immigrants spoke. Considering how many Irish moved to Boston (enough to spawn a dialect of its own in Boston Irish) and Arkham is supposed to be in Massachusetts, it makes sense for it to have an Irish twang.
This is doing what Chaosium wants it to do because I'm feeling the need to get back into playing the RPG after however many years. The production values sell it a lot more compared to the many webcam play sessions out there. Well done.
This cast is fantastic. So happy to see Noura and Josephine. Patrick and Lucia were great in the Bookshops play through and I'm excited to see more of them!
Betty going to the docks reminds me of a game of Marvel Superheroes I ran where the PCs infiltrated a chocolate factory by pretending to be workers. I gave them tasks to do in the factory and they did them for FIFTEEN minutes before they remembered they didn’t actually work there.
Half the cast is from 'L.A. By Night" - my absolute favourite!! So excited to see all these outstanding actors/TTRPers again. Big fan of your work, everybody!! 😁😁
The high brawl and dodge is a very meta pick in Cthulhu, surprised Mark allowed it tbh. That's like having Muhammad Ali in the group with punches that can often do more damage than firearms, good luck to any cultists going up against it. The character could've probably stayed in the cementary and taken out all the dog "ghouls"
@swervbe Given that it can only help you so much against all the incomprehensible eldritch horrors and any magic that might get slung her way; it's really only good for the "mobs". You can fight the local cultists but good luck against a Nightgaunt or The Dead Light
I loved the first season so much - definitely one of the best CoC live action play out there - I'm really excited! Mark Meer is a fantastic keeper and the cast looks amazing - let's gooo!
Came here for Leman. I'm a lifetime member of the HP Lovecraft Historical Society and a big fan of his acting. Man does he only get to be in this one episode? :(
@@samanthapatrick4345 Yep. They started as a fan group of CoC LARPers back in the 80s. They took their current form back in the mid or early '00s. They make audiobooks of Lovecraft's fiction in the form of old timey radio shows, they make CoC props, and so much more
Bookshops of Arkham was incredible. It's a shame these videos don't already crack the Million view mark. Mark Meer is a fantastic Keeper. Not to mention the amazing cast. I subscribed in case another event comes through on Kickstarter! I would fund these
This looks very promising, as well as being brutal. And hats off to the makeup person: Had I not known Noura was in the cast, it would have taken me a while to recognize her. She also does a great job with the working-class accent.
I love you guys!! So much fun, everyone is great and the synergy is amazing. It must have been so much fun to make this! And thank you for all the hard work that goes into it, everyone killed it! 🦑
this is my first foray into Call of Cthulhu, I've heard of the system but had never paid it any attention. This popped onto my recommendations and so thought I would give it a shot. This was really enjoyable. I love Betty! She reminds me somewhat of some Geena Davis characters, especially from A League of Their Own. Does this take place near or within 1920s Boston? Just wondering as I live out by Worcester.
YEEEEEESSSSSSSS THANKYOUTHANKYOUTHANKYOU I was so worried we'd never get another. Best production on the internet! (btw I think "Swedish and Spooked" would make great reality TV lol)
2:35 "Hangs heavy in the air", was that a deliberate reference to "The Last Resort" by The Eagles? "She came from Providence, the one in Rhode Island, where the old world's shadows hang heavy in the air..."
Its Andrew, I love his reading on H P Podcraft/Witch House media. This should be a good way to kill a couple hours at work this slow Monday morning. Thanks.
I've not played CoC, for 30 years. This reminded me of how great it can be. ❤
Bookshops of Arkham was, in my opinion, the greatest short form actual play show to date. And if this is even just AS GOOD, we're in for a treat
I agree but I’d also recommend Sagas of Sundry using Dread as a system
It would have been my go-to recommendation for new people if not for the technical issues. I hope this one is just as good.
Bookshops of Arkham is what got me into watching this format to begin with! Mark Meer is phenomenal.

I totally agree!!! I'm so excited that they're doing another one!!!
No joke I would pay to see this in a theater just as it is
Last season, Patrick Logan was a thug. This time he's a doctor. The accent shift is ridiculously aweso.e, going from American brute to English gentleman.
I love the way his accent changed it really showcases his talents
Definitely a good actor and RPG player

very cool accent, does it have irish influences? i heard a bit of an irish twang in his words

Damn these are always amazing
YES IT'S HERE! I TOTALLY FORGOT THIS WAS COMING THIS YEAR!
shut up
Same until yesterday

Great intro by Mark Meers, love the character descriptions, and Betty is already killin it
They say patience is a virtue and now I realize it is also rewarding
hell yeah!
Noura Ibrahim is a Call of Cthulhu superstar! Here and in Time for Chaos' Masks of Nyarlothotep.
Excellent start - Big Betty is a star!
Which character is she in time for chaos?
@Nevernaught Fayruse, not sure how to spell that. Her and Vaghn were recently engaged if that helps
I’m glad I saw you’d said this as she was a personal fave
Half the cast is from 'L.A. By Night" - my absolute favourite!! So excited to see all these outstanding actors/TTRPers again. Big fan of your work, everybody!! 😁😁
I thought Betty was being cocky saying she'd fight the Swede until I saw the 89 Brawl.

She IS BIG BETTY!

Same 😂
I love the foreshadowing placed in the session. Going back and forth to the funeral was really well done.
Great session!
I already love big Betty. I hope she survives
These theatrical-level performances are priceless.
Mark Meer and Patrick Logan are both MVPs here.
I loved the first season so much - definitely one of the best CoC live action play out there - I'm really excited!
Mark Meer is a fantastic keeper and the cast looks amazing - let's gooo!
josephine and noura? well im already invested
Mark is absolutely incredible. The whole campaign looks amazing, wonderful. Thank you.
I JUST finished the bookshops of Arkham. And with no idea this was coming, what a welcome surprise!
I love Archibald's and Betty's voices. Betty knocks them down, Archie stiches them back up.
This was amazing Mark Meer is just an amazing Keeper!
Everyone on this show is classy as heck. I feel underdressed, and that's a compliment!
I love that you got Andrew Leman of HPLHS to be in this season.
Came here for Leman. I'm a lifetime member of the HP Lovecraft Historical Society and a big fan of his acting. Man does he only get to be in this one episode? :(
I've never heard of the HP Lovecraft Historical Society before how have they been around?

This is just great. Stellar. Fantastic. The production value, the DM's passion, the sets and of course the players.
Andrew F'ing Leeman. I did not know he was coming, and then I heard that voice. Such a win.
Something about Noura’s delivery reminds me of a less raspy Natasha Lyonne. Love it
Andrew Leman. That is extra cool.
No one:
Betty: 7 points of dmg
Hospitalized for a punch in the face. Goddamn.
@@AenVegra 7 pts of dmg is not only a trip to the hospital but probably intensive care too skfjsdkjf

I was bracing myself for Karl to sound like the Swedish Chef from the Muppets 😂
Wasn't the chef a Dane tho?
I love you guys!! So much fun, everyone is great and the synergy is amazing. It must have been so much fun to make this! And thank you for all the hard work that goes into it, everyone killed it! 🦑
excellent series thus far. The cast is excellent. Mark Meer is an exceptional Keeper.
My name is Commander Cthulhu, and this is my favourite RPG series on UA-cam.
So hyped for this. Gonna have to binge this over the next few days!
This is fantastic - seriously appreciate the immense effort that has gone into it.
yes I agree as the visual presentation makes it a watch and listen - 99.9% of rpg plays can simply be listened to
This is absolutely exquisite!!! Thank you guys so much.
I love that Nora used her Glasscannon character, this is a great actual play
Thank you, this is actually the first time I’ve played her in a series! The first time was at gencon 2023 with Mark and Josephine
oh my days this series goes SO HARD! I LOVE IT
Such a talented cast, fantastic production, and great story! Well done all
UA-cam needs a heart button! I can't like this enough!
so happy to get more actual play show videos
I'm drawing maps for CoC as I watch this and it is fantastic inspiration!
The best TTrpg lets play production I have seen. Top marks.

Yooo Josephine and Mark Meer!
Great to see you all vertical...
So far.
Late to the party here, but I hope that this is not the last time Chaosium makes one of these awesome shows!
Audrey and I just finished watching this. Wow! So good! Everyone did such an amazing job.
Vic is cool af. The “stoic noir” type is classic CoC, and it’s always fun to see a new actor put their spin on the archetype.
Loving this series.
Love this cast and format.
Beautiful play, love the storytelling, the group and the narrative!
I was SO hoping these would come to UA-cam! Fantastic story so far!
YEEEEEESSSSSSSS THANKYOUTHANKYOUTHANKYOU

I loved Book Shops!! I’ve been waiting for this 🎉
What a start! I’m so happy I bought Arkham this week
As the author of Cthulhu Armageddon, you have my official seal of approval. :)
Subbed and thumbs up, and Meer hasn't finished the opening. because it's a sure thing to be good.
I was rewatching the first series 24 hours ago......so cool!!!
Woo-hoo - Noura AND Josephine - Awesome 🥰❤❤
Hell yeah!! Good episode! I can't wait for more!
oh shit its back, so hyped
2:35 "Hangs heavy in the air", was that a deliberate reference to "The Last Resort" by The Eagles? "She came from Providence, the one in Rhode Island, where the old world's shadows hang heavy in the air..."
1:10:10 - hang on, wasn't Ray Giatti the security guard in Bookshops of Arkham?
Delighted to get to watch more of this!

_A MOST UNEXPECTED BUT _*_*MOST HEARTILY WELCOME_*_ TREAT:: THISSS!!!!_
Hell, it's about time.
I was screaming most of the time "Give them some hard time Big Betty!"
She has a punch like a heavy weight champion
Amazing good time. Excellent storytelling and well played by the players.
oh thank god! there's another one!!!
freakign utube taking 5 days to notify me that it dropped
Outstanding! Great job all around! Looking forward to the next episode! :)
I'd pay to play or be an NPC in one of these. I've never played Call of Cthulu, but man do these make me want to try it.
Just finished Bookshops of Arkham and I'm so hyped for this
I'm Commander Shepherd and this is my favorite channel on UA-cam
I knew this was going to be amazing as soon as I saw Andrew Leman!

Great episode!
This was well done, captivating story!
I'm crushing pretty hard on Big B over here. Anyone else?
