The iLX-F511 has a USB cable provided in the box when you buy it. If someone installed the unit, they could have put the cable in a glove box. Is there a USB cable run somewhere? My car did not have a USB plug inside the car either, I had to install one.
Section 3-5 of the instructions says "As always, to get into the setup menu engage the parking brake, release the parking brake, and engage the parking brake again. Then go to "Restore Factor Settings" in the About section to do a factor reset". So you're saying in your previous comment that this step is not required?
If the instructions say to follow the steps you mentioned, follow that. Depending on how your system is set up it may vary. Thanks for mentioning the park brake function to access the menu option.
You would have to check with Alpine. If you have the same unit as mine, it supports most devises with apple carplay. The devise has to be able to install or already have apple carplay on it.
I didn’t get update for 8227L demo 😢
What about the iDE 178BT? I only find a download for CDE178BT is it the same?
I have been looking for the updated firmware for f309. I can't find it on Alpine's site. Any tips?
Just Google "alpine ilx-f309 firmware update". Should be the first thing that pops up.
Did you ever figure it out? I was only able to find the European version update for the ILX-F309E..
I'm wondering if the ilx-f509 update will work since the 2 are near identical
for ALPINE INE W987D does?
My iLX-F511 Halo is in an older motorhome that doesn't have a USB port. How can I do an update?

@@SouthdownGarage Thank you. I will check on that as soon as I get back to where the motorhome is stored.

No, you shouldn't have to. I think it does all that automatically for you.
Will the update make my iPod work with it?
