Love mine! It brings my Corvette C6 to date with newer vettes. I have the Alpine 507. Trying to figure out how to hook up my driod to run Android play via wifi. Would like Google map and other apps to run. It's nice to experiencing the HD radio stations, an option that I didn't have before. Also added the HD reverse camera...love it!
Just got a iLX-509 (with ready harness) from Crutchfield (THANKS!). In the video you mention this should work with most aftermarket cameras, do you know if this supports the AHD (analog HD) signal? The previous owner had a camera installed, that supports this, but is switched to standard (480p). If I could swap it to AHD (720p) it’ll look far better. THANKS AGAIN!
Your Alpine receiver came with one composite video input adapter that does allow the Alpine to work with a universal backup cameras. This includes cameras that have 720P resolution designed to work with any radio such as the Optix TLP150HDW shown here: www.crutchfield.com/I-rYALc227/p_074TLP150H/item.html You may need to check the camera to make sure that its AHD connection does not also use another, brand specific technology like the HD-TVI found in this Kenwood camera: www.crutchfield.com/I-rYALc227/p_113CMOS740/item.html
The rear-view camera function on this model does provide on-screen color-coded guidelines to assist you when backing up your vehicle into a parking space.
I have the ilx-507 and thinking of adding the front camera but if I do, I would not want the guidelines to appear. Is there a way to shut them off for the front camera only?
Hey, interested in the ilx 507. I'm building a custom mount for a double din and the face plate through which the stereo face/screen will protrude is 3/16" thick. Do you offer a metal cage in which the stereo can be installed for a custom installation like this? Cutting a 4x7" double DIN hole. However, it appears that the screen itself may be larger than the standard 4x7" double DIN opening?
The screen on the iLX-507 is not bigger than a double din radio. However, its body is smaller than a double din radio but designed to still use/need a double din mount that bolts onto the side of the radio. We do not have a sleeve mounting system that can secure onto the side of this radio. We do have universal style mount that you might be able to use to help install this radio. Here it is: www.crutchfield.com/I-rYALc227/p_120999999/item.html
Just bought one of these recently - would the built in amp be enough to power a set of Focal ES100K and then run an active subwoofer? Or is it just better to get something like a 5CH amp and run the 2 way and sub off? It's a SWB G Wagon...
Hi Daryl, nice choice on the Focal ES100K! We're glad to help. What model sub do you have in mind? Which Alpine radio did you get? What is the year, make, and model of your vehicle?
@@crutchfield thanks for the reply. I have the Alpine Halo 11 - so the 511. The car is a 1987 Mercedes Benz G Class 230GE SWB. I am open to suggestions regarding subs, but anything from 8-12". Was looking at the Kicker sealed unit but can go Audison, ESX etc. as long as I can get a decent 300-400W 2/2 ohm. I guess can I power the focal from the headunit then get a mono amp, or should I just get an amp that can do the fronts and sub. I have no desire to add more speakers so it will be basically the 2 ways in the front with the sub :)
Thanks, Daryl. The Focals are super efficient, so you could enjoy them matched to the Alpine for power. The Kicker powered subs are terrific and ideal if you prefer not to take up a lot of space.
respect, i have opel corsa 2008 i enjoy 1.2. speakers jbl stage1 601c on the front and jbl stage 1 41f on the rear doors, I plan to install jbl basspro nano 100v. so I'm wondering which multimedia would suit me alpine ilk507 or ilk509? I'm writing to you from Serbia and I don't speak English well, so if you can answer me via message, thank you in advance.
Hi Ana, thanks for reaching out. These are both great radio models with comparable features so the choice will come down to the fit and screen size you prefer. I'm sorry to tell you we have not researched your vehicle so we have no fit info or installation items for it. Will you be able to source the radios and installation items for your car there locally?

How the heck do I set the clock on the ilx 507? When android auto isn't connected there's literally no clock. There two hyphens a colon and two hyphens for the spot for a clock. You can adjust the time format, your time zone BUT NO CLOCK. Even in this video the clock isn't set. I have a jeep, no clock in the jeep. All of my previous head units have clocks.
You can set it via the Systems Setup Menu. You'll find instructions on page 28 of the manual here: pdf.crutchfieldonline.com/ImageBank/v20220407191700/Manuals/500/500ILXF511.PDF
Sat radio sounds like garbage on all radios. It's a very lossy, high compressed signal. In my experience, the better the quality of the headunit, the worse sat radio sounds. If your source is garbage, a good head unit will only magnify those imperfections.

Clear cut, to the point, excellent presenter💪🏽
Thanks! :)

Does the ilx-507 stereo backup view have dynamic reverse lines that turn when you alter the steering angle?
The rear-view camera function on this model does provide on-screen color-coded guidelines to assist you when backing up your vehicle into a parking space.
Thank you for the response. Are they dynamic? Do they turn with the articulation of the steering wheel?
I have the ilx-507 and thinking of adding the front camera but if I do, I would not want the guidelines to appear. Is there a way to shut them off for the front camera only?
Yes, those guides can be turned off independently for the front and rear camera inputs.

Great radio choice! What model iPods are you looking to connect? They won't be supported via USB; but you could likely use the rear auxiliary input.

Is this compatible with an Ipod Touch?
The USB input isn't listed as supporting an iPod Touch, but you could stream music wirelessly from the iPod Touch to the stereo via Bluetooth.
for plugging in my fire stick to the HDMI, where do you plug it in to power the fire stick?? Thanks!!

Hi Santiago, it does not.
Do these slow a spectrum analyser?
They do not.
@@crutchfield is there any head unit that does before I go but old school units lol
Lots of great sound control via these current models, just without those old school lights.
Can you mount the alpine power stack on the ilx 507?
The iLX-507 does not offer any mounting options for the Alpine Power Pack amp.

Hmm, it shouldn't sound any different then on an OEM system, what radio are you using?
