After all the excitement of the launch of this new album, will it resist the test of time, as have most of their albums? only time will tell, but, in my opinion, it is a great achievement, not because of their age, but because of the music quality of it. And that is what really matters.
I have noticed many of the You Tube reviewers for this album seem to dismiss every album after Tattoo You. I think to various degrees those are fine albums and people should go back to rediscover them. I will say Hackney Diamonds more than any of the Undercover though Bigger Bang has more of a traditional Stones sound to it. I hear structures of Some Girls, Exile and Sticky fingers even Salt of the Earth vibe with Sweet Sounds of Heaven all done with some modern production touches. Overall it is a very satisfying album where you can get satisfaction. As a teen ager in the 1970s I never thought one day that my favorite rock band in 2023 would be made up of guys pushing into their 80s. ha ha. Oh that mean reviewer, out of touch.
The first 3 seconds of whole wide world reminded me of under pressure from zz top and little bit of surrender from cheap trick,i do enjoy the track for sure.." and all your friends will treat you with disdain" great lyric,mick sounds very youthful and fresh for most of this album not sure if andrew watt has a hand in that or not but regardless,much better vocally than bigger bang from 05 in my opinion
what makes this album good is the vibrant energy and freshness not the greatest but I enjoy every song, nothing sucks

The album sounds like a very "modern" bunch of pop songs. And this from a diehard fan. Very disappointing.
