So I found this at Best Buy for about 399.99 US dollars, and I know it seems like a hefty price, and today we’ll be checking to see if it’s actually worth it. So in this video, I’ll be doing an unboxing, talk about the physical and internal specs, and then finally talk about my experience with the Omen 27i and give my final verdict. HP Omen 27i Gaming Monitor Unboxing and Review! Is it truly worth it? (1440p, IPS, 165Hz, GSync)
Is it worth it? No at $500 but on sale now at 250. Hell yes got mine
That was the deciding factor for me as well. I have been researching options for months but when I went to BB to see stuff in person I was intrigued by the CRG9, but this monitor literally cutting the price down by more than half was a no brainer to me

Honestly one of the best monitors I've ever used. Has absolutely everything I could want. 1440p, 165hz, Gsync for Nvidia cards, perfect size, low glare, ambient RGB on the rear AND bottom that matches whats on screen, height adjustable with tilt. I got mine at Best Buy for $240 as an open box.
What was the new price at the time, I ordered mine for $250

It’s a really good monitor honestly. It’s a 2k monitor and 250 is a steal but if ur looking for a 4K monitor I would wait bro
How to connect audio to the monitor 27i? Such as an LG sound bar eclair by optical port or USB type a to type b, or USB port?
Have this and the omen 27u (4k144) in a dual monitor setup with my 3080. I use this one for gaming and have the 4k one mounted vertically for everything else. Great monitors!

When I use the in built software for this monitor I can hover over different option but when I press the middle button to select it doesn’t select. Does anyone know how to fix this issue?

As you’ve had for a bit now did it ever make a popping/crackling sound when turned off? Mine does and it does scare me a little bit as it’s fairly new and I’m worried it’s already breaking

You literally struggled to open the box.. It opens like any other monitor or PC case box.. This is already off to a bad start. Then this "gem" of a statement - "The black uniformity was decent for me, it could be worse for certain people. It depends on the model." -WHAT DOES THAT EVEN MEAN???- Omen 27i is the model.. You're reviewing this product.. The 27i IS THE MODEL OF PRODUCT THAT YOU'RE REVIEWING.
I have a 27i. And I have to say at 1440p, 165hz, 1ms response time, offering G-sync; that the monitor is great. You literally wont find a better gaming monitor at 1440p. The menu settings are amazing when compared to its competitors.
"The headphones stand on the back is usually sometimes good but I wouldn't recommend it in the long run because it MIGHT damage your headphones" - Fucking what? - I have been using the headset stand on the back of the monitor for over a year with my Logitech Wireless headset and there has been zero issues. How this guy thinks that it would somehow damage your headset is beyond me. It was literally designed to be a place to store your headset.
Also, the ergonomics of a monitor? Are you serious? It is a product designed to be a primary gaming display,. It doesn't need to have insane tilt or be able to be put in portrait mode(which you can put it into portrait mode).. It was designed to be a primary gaming display and it does so phenomenally.
The Omen software that accompanies the monitor is also great as it offers some basic PC utilities along with it.
You also failed to mention a ton of settings that the monitor does have like a crosshair, built in fps counter, HP Enhance+ display mode, Game boost and system boost, complete system monitoring capabilities.
This is a poor review of a great product.
This is the first video I've watched on this channel and have to say that it will probably also be my last due to the wack rating methodology used.
Hi! Thank you so much for the comment. I totally understand your viewpoints on the video and there are some flaws with the way I review the products and I totally accept that. My videos are not meant to be a definitive review that can fit everyone's situation but its more of a review on how I would personally use it. So everyone's experience with the monitor will be different.
The final score is based off of what I believe I would rate this monitor if I were to use it daily and the review is put into perspective with other monitors I use and I compare it to them. So, yeah it might not be the one for me but if you liked it then that's good for you.
Also the ergonomics of a monitor is something that I personally look for when purchasing a monitor. It's an important factor for me and I feel like it's fair to point out the poor ergonomics of the monitor. It might not be something you care about, which I totally understand, but it could be important to more people than just yourself.
Also I'm a bit confused why opening a hard to open box is a bad start, it was hard to open and that was fact. So I'm not sure what point your making there. And regarding the headphones stand in the back, which I personally found pretty inconvenient, does in fact, damage the headphones a little. I've had experience with it and that's why I pointed it out. It might be different for you, which is good (since your headphones were perfectly fine), but for me it was not.
Regarding the black uniformity comment, yeah I misspoke on that part. I meant that it would be a case by case basis because every panel of every separate display could have minor differences with the uniformity.
Sure, specs on paper make the monitor phenomenal and I'm glad you have had a great time with the monitor, but for me this monitor is just not it. I'm talking about my experience with it. Also, I'm not mentioning more in detail regarding the advanced settings on any PC accompaniment due to the fact that I don't own a PC. SO I don't want to give any information that I'm not familiar with in any way.
It's unfortunate that you might not have enjoyed the video or found it helpful due to my rating methodology, and I can assure you that'll make improvements to make it more universal and something that makes more sense. But for now take the reviews with a grain of salt because every review is based on personal experience. I hope that helps!

Personal opinion, if ergonomics is so important to anyone in particular, that person should be investing in a dedicated solution for it. Vesa mount compatibility should be the only requirement to fulfill in that situation since first and foremost we are buying displays to display things. Over-all I do love the review and format, though!

Warning to anyone buying this monitor - The audio output on this monitor is horrible and no matter what kind of speakers you hook up to it the sound - will sound like it is too loud and crackles, doing a google search you will find other with the same issue with no response from HP or fixes, so if you are using this to hook up your PS5 or Xbox its going to sound like crap but look great at least

I gotta say. I hate HP, but they did a damn well job with this Omen one. got it new at Best Buy for $250 on sale, and man, I'm happy as hell.
IMO, this monitor should cost
None of these 2K IPS monitors is worth any spending today. The granularity of the screen picture is unacceptable, these companies all use the same Matrix from Nec or Samsung which is low quality TFT panel. I see this across Dell, HP Lenovo and others in this category. That is actually ridiculous than that over a decade after 2K monitors came to the market their quality actually decreased. I still have 32-in 2K Samsung I purchased 11 years ago and it is far superior picture versus this one with no zero picture granularity. Kids who claim this is great monitor must have never seen the real quality one.
Are you on drugs? I also have this monitor. And I’ve had alot and seen alot of monitors. This is one of the best monitors out there.
An 11 year old Samsung monitor definitely doesn’t look good in todays world
