I was able to get my Mesprit eventually, but I did the method slightly differently.
I found that I was consistently hitting the same delay a few delays below the target. So instead of updating the delays, I just increased the target delay.
Odd way to do it, I know, but it worked lol
Idk if it's down to my pc or what, but as far as RS rng comes, I'm always about 5 tenths of a second early, and I found out that updating the frames in eon times actually gives a different time than to just adding that many frames manually, so I do what you do instead as well. Nice to find someone using the same branch of the method I do none the less

got there eventually, took me well over a few hours, only because i kept getting the chatot advances wrong and didnt think to check how many advances i was off. turned out i needed to do 11 chatot advances to hit the 15th one

yes if you are playing platinum you can beat it and then beat the elite four to respawn it back in the cave where you found it and then rng manip from there
To add onto what IceBro commented, I believe any of the roaming pokemon in Platinum you can KO and defeating the E4 will indefinitely respawn them til you successfully catch them.
I’m getting the nature and IVs correct, but my encounters aren’t shiny. Is it because I started with the cute charm ID? I even have a Timid synchronize lead set up in Pokefinder. Help, please!

Nope
Cute charm only effects shiny odds while you’ve got the ability in the lead, it’s normal otherwise. So it won’t effect normal stuff

Could you look into how the mew tutor from pokemon xd works exactly, online info is hearsay, it would be very interesting to be able to learn after all these years how it actually determines the moves you can get, and if it's even legitimately possible to get fake out and night shade at the same time or any other desirable combo of the dx exclusive mew tutor moves. My math checks that there are 10,752 different ways to answers the quiz (3×4×4x16x14), but only 2,688 versions of the quiz (3×4×4×8×7), the theoretical number of move combinations with the unconfirmed total of 106 possible moves is 119,224,560 different combos (106×105×104×103). Im not a mathmetician but the best odds of recieving 2 specific moves if it was completely random and not influenced by the questions could be; ((106/106)×(105/105)×(2/104)×(1/103))×100 = 0.01867%. Less than 0.02%! That is just over 5 times less likely than recieving a safari ball from the cram o matic in sword and shield. Any specific 4 move combination even being available is; (10 752/119 224 560)×100 = 0.00902% or less than 1 in 10,000 odds. There are so many unknowns and theoretically the questions can persuade the results. This needs a data analyst or someone of your caliber to solve this mystery.

1. what should i do if the coin flip result is 0?
2. when i change the year to 2021 do i also have to reset the timer values?

I'm not blis, but on my own testing i realized when you get 0 on coinflips it's because you result was far off,either in time, delay or both

The timer should be the same despite the year change. So in case you're wondering because you had to change the year to get an odd/even delay, I believe nothing in EonTimer should have to change. At least in my experience. But it's also possible to switch your delay from odd/even by inserting a copy of any Gen 3 GBA game into the bottom of your DS, in case you'd prefer not to change the year.
If you're looking for Cresselia and you encounter Mespirit first, do you have to restart until you encounter Cresselia first?
I know this is super late and you've probably already figured it out, but just in case anyone else has this same question at some point, no. You can encounter Cresselia after accidentally running into Mesprit and it won't mess with anything. In the video you're following the steps to RNG for Cresselia specifically. When you follow these steps and you speak to Cresselia, that's the moment that all of it's stats/nature/shiny-ness are generated and determined.

How many times does a person typically update their delay hit? I did it about 5 times, and I never hit my delay.

I still want to do it on a DS because the DSi, while the more functional, has a touch screen time confirm button, so the timing between the timer and the DSi would probably be less.
At the same time, my DS's A button has sunken, and I don't know what to do about it.
@@Erik_Emer Ah yeah that A button needs to be on point because of the timing involved. Repair or replace and hope
Bit late but if you still have issues with it, you could try to hit your seed without updating the delay a few times and instead focusing on consistently hitting the same seed even if it's not the one you want, then you can manually adjust instead of updating the delay. I.e. let's say you're consistently 10 delays early, you just add 10 delays to your target delay instead of using the update function. I hope it helps you find seeds easier

Did you start at zero for the advances?
Advances should always be zero when doing this method as long as you're completely still and in a region with no moving NPCs. To be sure always remain in the pause menu while messing with stuff to stop advances.
