@@xRooze Just try to use cues in his voice to determine when to hit a. Go off the timer he uses that ended up working for him. If you hit a at the same time as him from the start, you can ignore what else he is saying and just go through the timers as normal. Once that's done, and you got the id, watch him do the steps a few times before leaving the house. You'll be fine
@@josemaasberg2590 I have an old DS too. What you can do is just keep going at it until you get lucky. Hold B and spam A and pray that everything goes well. You have a lot of wiggle room. I was able to change my name and make a few mistakes and still got it. Just keep at it, or try to get your hands on a cheap DS from ebay or Amazon. I hope you get it soon

Quick tip for 3ds user Works the same as a regular ds but after u start the time just launch the game and wait for the first alert from eon timer; when u hear the alert reset the game (l+r+select+start) and then proceed as usual for the second alert. Great video, got the cute charm seed and my shiny starter thanks a lot for the tutorial.
For anyone who wants to do this, here are some things I picked up on my quest for all 3: You don't have to download anything, except I recommend downloading EON timer and configuring it to Blisy's to make your ID's more consistently right. Follow his exact movements around the town, but inside the houses it does not matter where you move (I still recommend following his path through them just in case). For the 2 last inputs at the Briefcase area: Hold down during Barry's line about being an adult, and then hold right after he asks you where you are going. The thud after you contact the Briefcase does work, but you may have to input your A press sooner. If your starter is not shiny, finish your battle with Barry and check its nature, and see where it lines up at 19:23. If your nature is Sassy, then make an A press before the Briefcase collision and check.
what do u mean hold right? when u hold right and hit a during the where are u going text box it makes u walk into the grass..? do u gyys mean right bumper? it doesnt auto walk u to the briefcase so u guyys are leaving out the fact u have to press up and then left after he asks where u are going u can hold right it forces u to walk in the grass
@@SenkoVT And to do that that requires third party tools to inject them into the newer games, thus resulting in the hack vs. legit argument. I'd personally prefer to use normal methods or abnormal ones like these in order to get the stuff I want since it feels like you earned it. Sure this makes things pretty piss easy to some degree, but it's still effort you have to put in to hit it right versus just saying "I want this and that with this spread and shinyness and I'll have it set so that it has all the proper flags to pass GF's laughable hack check system". That just makes it too easy and takes out all the sentimentality of it.

For anyone still trying this in 2022. I just tried this on my 2DS (Basically a 3DS) and it works. What I did was change my Eontimer settings to Blisy's settings exactly, including setting the timer to NDS. Then, as stated in a previous comment by Blisy; instead of waiting to enter the game after the first countdown. You should open the game as soon as you set your clock and soft-reset at that first countdown. After, you should have enough time to mash through the intro and prepare for the final countdown. I know this comment is a few months old, and I'm not sure if you'll respond, but I'm not sure what you mean by "soft reset at the first countdown." Do I soft reset the game when the first countdown ends, or soft-reset and then start the first timer?
@@hamiltons.7815basically change your time and instead of waiting at the DS Home Screen for the countdown to beep and start, you start the game and then wait for the counter to beep to soft reset. Hope this helps

Very good tutorial. Kept barely missing the seed on 3DS for hours and the first time hitting the seed I messed up the frame advancement walk by one tile. Eventually hit the seed again and got my shiny starter monkey. First successful RNG manip. Thx blisy!

Amazing tutorial! For anyone attempting to do this using an R4, this DOES work! A few tips which were essential for me to get the shiny were: Since you are using an R4, you cannot start the game normally (from the DS menu). Instead, at the step where blisy launches the game, soft reset by pressing L/R/Start/Select at the same time. This will add a slightly longer than expected delay which can be calibrated as the video shows at 9:00, but keep in mind that in Seed Finder you should change your min/max delay to 3000/8000 to account for this. For reference, my Calibrated Delay in EonTimer was 560 - I had a lot of success using this value. Do not attempt to speed up the process using Save States as I found this completely messed up the frames and I was getting nowhere near close to Frame 100. Instead you need to get the shiny all in one attempt, from obtaining the correct TID/SID to following blisy's exact movements up to the briefcase. Importantly, at the final step when you are holding left to reach the briefcase, start spamming A (do not wait too long, if at all for the thud sound as you will very easily miss frame 100). Patience is key here and it definitely took me a few hours to master the correct timing and path.
hey man, i know it has passed a lot of time but, do you remember how would you tell wich value was the correct one? cause im doing it and somethimes i get confused between two values so i dont know which of them is the correct one, also, did you stayed in 39 seconds?
Just did it. Deleted a few comments I made that had some questions. Had the right trainer ID but I didn’t realize once you get it you have to do the movement right away and can’t save in your room and soft reset there you have to execute all of it at once. Thanks for the VID amazing work
Could you maybe advise me please? I'm not sure I'm doing the part near the briefcase correctly. I am getting everything right before that (TID, NPC positions), but I think I'm doing something wrong at the briefcase
@@damonswart5387 the briefcase part took me like 5 tries. i noticed every time i looked at the nature my starter was sassy, meaning i was doing the button press too late. i try checking the nature of your starter and that could tell you if youre doing it too late or early. adjust you button press to that. hope this helps
For the emulator users it does work in emulator and you can even use save states (I did it using melonDS) But for melonDS (I don't know if it's the same for other emulators) I had to change my computer's date as it just kept changing it back to that You might also need the BIOS files to boot into firmware in order to time things correctly

Thanks for the video! Got into rng manip recently. Yours and Papa Jefe's videos have been immensely helpful. Used this method to get a shiny piplup. Took some time, especially copying the route. In the end, it worked!
Just a bit of extra information for anyone trying this. You can use any year and it'll work, doesn't have to be 2008 just as long as the trainer ID and Secret ID match up. I verified mine using the pokefinder program and PKSM on my modded 3ds just to make absolutely sure I hit it. I got the shiny starter as well but I wanted to make sure I got the SID just in case I got lucky and got a random shiny Turtwig with a timid nature by luck. Further down the line of this playthrough I've found that my game will crash if you try and use the cute charm glitch in the Eterna Forest while escorting Cheryl. The game doesn't like double shinies and soft locks. So I'd avoid trying to force shinies during the escort missions. Other than that it's been a blast to find shinies rather regularly. Good luck to everyone trying this and I'll have fun on my shiny only run of platinum 😁
i am having a lot of trouble with this, and im wondering if i'm meant to get a cute charm profile at all. each time i attempt, i can't even get past the professor's intro before the timer hits zero, and it seems like i'm getting slower with each attempt. i'm holding b and mashing a as hard as possible and skipping giving the trainer a name to keep up, to no avail. is there any way to fix this, or do i just keep trying, or am i just too slow to succeed?
I spent 2 hours yesterday getting 5020, 5022, 5026 as my delays over and over again. at one point I got 5022 3 times in a row and then 5026 right after. got so pissed called it a night. tried it again today and got it first try but misspelt my nickname. redid it and got it 2 tries after. Really liked this tutorial. good job!
I just did this today. Ive been following a lot of your rng tutorials and they are excellent. The trick that worked for me on the last part is after pressing down, than going left. right when my character stepped i spammed A and got the perfect frame. Good work keep it up, can't wait to do some Arb. code execution in emerald!
Can't wait for the video for Heart Gold/Soul Silver. I was never quite able to get it following the old video and still have a fresh save file from then lol
Been trying this for hours. No luck. Multiple different NDS Lites, NDSis, even tried using a 3DS. I get to the final screen, the timer goes off, I hit A, nothing happens and I'm still looking at the TV text. It just doesn't advance to the next screen fast enough.
Pokefinder looks different for the Gen 4 TID/SID nowadays. When I downloaded pokefinder, it doesn't say Shiny PID under the TID/SID section. It just says the year and the min and max delay and it gives a whole list of things instead of three. I'm not sure what is going on but an updated video might be helpful
I had the *frankly insane* idea of doing a Professor Oak challenge but w/ only Shiny Pokemon in Platinum but with the use of glitches & early Poke Radar, and this *beautifully* helped me get myself the start I needed, thanks :p I'm new to RNG manip but I wanna say it only took like *maybe* an hour and a half of work to get right
Just got mine to work after about five tries. If anyone is having trouble here we’re my settings Calibrated Delay: 595 Calibrated Second: 14 Target Delay: 5024 Target Second: 38 I got it immediately after I changed the target second to 38. Hope this helps ^^
No matter how fast I speed through the intro my beeps happen during a black screen prior to the tv and then the tv is delayed to exit… not sure how or why.
I've tried doing it with my dsi and every time i set the eon timer the timer runs out before i can click the last screen where your character is watching the news, i don't name myself i click through profs "welcome to the world of pokemon" speech but i still can't do it. The version is eon timer v1.6
I've watched this video and followed step by step so many times.. I always seem to stray so far from the TID that you are getting... I'll try and do the same steps you take regardless of the TID I receive.. I cant figure out what I'm doing wrong!!!
@@PiercingPanther if you haven't got it yet try changing the second down by one and in the delay see if you're hitting too high or too low. See how high or low you're getting and subtract or add to the delay
Curious how you used reporter/finder to find the delay... I'd like to find a delay that's a bit more merciful so I don't have to abuse my old hardware's a button. I managed to finally get it but it was beyond stressful once you hit the seed. I've never been so scared of walking in a game before 😂 I suppose you could save in front of the case and just search for a 0 advance shiny right? As long as you don't mind having to do two different seeds
@ 17:30 you say hold right but the character walks to the left into the bag. Is that just a mixup on speech and it’s supposed to be hold left or does the game force you left even if you hold right?
I’m finally with my DS and platinum in hand and I’ve done this like 20 times and can’t get the correct TID. Any tips? I’m using both programs on my PC and my TIDs are with 500 delay but i just can’t get it 😭

Daniël de Vries made the mistake of wasting a couple hours after I saved with the right ID and attempted the walking part many times. Confused on why I never hit the frame, I soon realized that I had to start each attempt from a brand new file.
Idk how I can do this on pc w emulator I’ve set the time to 11:16 and somehow within like 15-20 seconds it turns to 11:17 throwing everything off even when set back to 11:15 to try and compensate still completely off

Hey Blisy, quick question I’ve been trying this step by step. I noticed at 3:45 you change the Calibrated delay to 600 then when you start the timer at 4:36 mark it’s back to 573. I’m a little confused. Lol

hey blisy, I've followed the instructions in the video and even have the software but im still not getting the TID I want. I keep getting other TID's and not sure what to do
Basicly, the cute charm glitch works because of the ability Cute Charm. In gen4 Cute Charm has a really high % of forcing the random wild pokemon to become the opposite gender of your pokemon with the ability. Without going too much into details, basicly there are 4 groups that the natures are devided into and one of the groups can be all shiny. So when your pokemon forces out an opposite gender, with nature in the specific group, it will always be shiny. But just remember to have the cute charm pokemon as the first one in your party and if you have any other questions they are probably all answered in Blizzy's first video about Cute Charm glitch.

Is there a way to get a seed where you have 20-30 seconds more time in the intro? I managed to pull it off on my SoulSilver Copy but on platinum I can‘t get fast enough through the intro. When I arrive at the TV screen i mostly only have 6-8 seconds left and when pressing A it does not react at all.
I waited the 70 days for riolu to appear in the safari zone in soul silver. I hit some kind of glitch in the cute charm glitch cuz the shinies stopped appearing. I did 100 encounters resulting in 0 shinies. And I tried it in 4 different areas. After turning the game off and back on it started working again. Very strange though that the glitch can just deactivate.

Tried for a few days, I keep getting just a few frames away but am just exhausted from attempting it. Wht are you looking for to speed up the button press at the briefcase? Yeah the timing is pretty merciless for custom names, might want to settle for picking a larger delay than just doing a second abuse in front of the bag

Jacob Barna the route is only for the starter. You still have cute charm even if u don’t get a shiny starter but the id is correct

How can cute charm work on legendaries? Also does getting shiny starter from this method automatically means I will encounter shinies in wild and stationaries crazy often?
Amazing tutorial! For anyone attempting to do this using an R4, this DOES work! A few tips which were essential for me to get the shiny were:
Since you are using an R4, you cannot start the game normally (from the DS menu). Instead, at the step where blisy launches the game, soft reset by pressing L/R/Start/Select at the same time. This will add a slightly longer than expected delay which can be calibrated as the video shows at 9:00, but keep in mind that in Seed Finder you should change your min/max delay to 3000/8000 to account for this. For reference, my Calibrated Delay in EonTimer was 560 - I had a lot of success using this value. Do not attempt to speed up the process using Save States as I found this completely messed up the frames and I was getting nowhere near close to Frame 100. Instead you need to get the shiny all in one attempt, from obtaining the correct TID/SID to following blisy's exact movements up to the briefcase.
Importantly, at the final step when you are holding left to reach the briefcase, start spamming A (do not wait too long, if at all for the thud sound as you will very easily miss frame 100). Patience is key here and it definitely took me a few hours to master the correct timing and path.
hey man, i know it has passed a lot of time but, do you remember how would you tell wich value was the correct one? cause im doing it and somethimes i get confused between two values so i dont know which of them is the correct one, also, did you stayed in 39 seconds?
How do you get through the intro stuff so fast? i can never seem to get to the TV screen on time
Just did it. Deleted a few comments I made that had some questions. Had the right trainer ID but I didn’t realize once you get it you have to do the movement right away and can’t save in your room and soft reset there you have to execute all of it at once. Thanks for the VID amazing work

Could you maybe advise me please? I'm not sure I'm doing the part near the briefcase correctly. I am getting everything right before that (TID, NPC positions), but I think I'm doing something wrong at the briefcase
@@damonswart5387 the briefcase part took me like 5 tries. i noticed every time i looked at the nature my starter was sassy, meaning i was doing the button press too late. i try checking the nature of your starter and that could tell you if youre doing it too late or early. adjust you button press to that. hope this helps

For the emulator users it does work in emulator and you can even use save states (I did it using melonDS)
But for melonDS (I don't know if it's the same for other emulators) I had to change my computer's date as it just kept changing it back to that
You might also need the BIOS files to boot into firmware in order to time things correctly
If you're gonna use an emulator then just fucking cheat.

I love this video! I’ve used it twice with no extra software and gotten both the trainer ID and the starter both times.
Just a bit of extra information for anyone trying this. You can use any year and it'll work, doesn't have to be 2008 just as long as the trainer ID and Secret ID match up. I verified mine using the pokefinder program and PKSM on my modded 3ds just to make absolutely sure I hit it. I got the shiny starter as well but I wanted to make sure I got the SID just in case I got lucky and got a random shiny Turtwig with a timid nature by luck. Further down the line of this playthrough I've found that my game will crash if you try and use the cute charm glitch in the Eterna Forest while escorting Cheryl. The game doesn't like double shinies and soft locks. So I'd avoid trying to force shinies during the escort missions. Other than that it's been a blast to find shinies rather regularly. i am having a lot of trouble with this, and im wondering if i'm meant to get a cute charm profile at all. each time i attempt, i can't even get past the professor's intro before the timer hits zero, and it seems like i'm getting slower with each attempt. i'm holding b and mashing a as hard as possible and skipping giving the trainer a name to keep up, to no avail. is there any way to fix this, or do i just keep trying, or am i just too slow to succeed?
Why do you initially set the calibrated delay to 600 but then the next time we see the eon timer it says 573?
I spent 2 hours yesterday getting 5020, 5022, 5026 as my delays over and over again. at one point I got 5022 3 times in a row and then 5026 right after. got so pissed called it a night. tried it again today and got it first try but misspelt my nickname. redid it and got it 2 tries after. Really liked this tutorial. good job!

I just did this today. Ive been following a lot of your rng tutorials and they are excellent. The trick that worked for me on the last part is after pressing down, than going left. right when my character stepped i spammed A and got the perfect frame. Good work keep it up, can't wait to do some Arb. code execution in emerald!

Been trying this for hours. No luck. Multiple different NDS Lites, NDSis, even tried using a 3DS. I get to the final screen, the timer goes off, I hit A, nothing happens and I'm still looking at the TV text. It just doesn't advance to the next screen fast enough.

Pokefinder looks different for the Gen 4 TID/SID nowadays. When I downloaded pokefinder, it doesn't say Shiny PID under the TID/SID section. It just says the year and the min and max delay and it gives a whole list of things instead of three. I'm not sure what is going on but an updated video might be helpful

I had the *frankly insane* idea of doing a Professor Oak challenge but w/ only Shiny Pokemon in Platinum but with the use of glitches & early Poke Radar, and this *beautifully* helped me get myself the start I needed, thanks :p I'm new to RNG manip but I wanna say it only took like *maybe* an hour and a half of work to get right

Calibrated Delay: 595
Calibrated Second: 14
Target Delay: 5024
Target Second: 38
I got it immediately after I changed the target second to 38. Hope this helps ^^

I got the id that the tutorial was aiming for. The biggest change in hunting for the id was putting the target second down by one.

No matter how fast I speed through the intro my beeps happen during a black screen prior to the tv and then the tv is delayed to exit… not sure how or why.

I've tried doing it with my dsi and every time i set the eon timer the timer runs out before i can click the last screen where your character is watching the news, i don't name myself i click through profs "welcome to the world of pokemon" speech but i still can't do it. The version is eon timer v1.6

I've watched this video and followed step by step so many times.. I always seem to stray so far from the TID that you are getting... I'll try and do the same steps you take regardless of the TID I receive.. I cant figure out what I'm doing wrong!!!

is there a more later time for the id? the window is way too tight for me
Curious how you used reporter/finder to find the delay... I'd like to find a delay that's a bit more merciful so I don't have to abuse my old hardware's a button.
I managed to finally get it but it was beyond stressful once you hit the seed. I've never been so scared of walking in a game before 😂
I suppose you could save in front of the case and just search for a 0 advance shiny right? As long as you don't mind having to do two different seeds

@ 17:30 you say hold right but the character walks to the left into the bag. Is that just a mixup on speech and it’s supposed to be hold left or does the game force you left even if you hold right?
I misspoke, I get left and right confused very easily. Follow where my character walks.
I’m finally with my DS and platinum in hand and I’ve done this like 20 times and can’t get the correct TID. Any tips? I’m using both programs on my PC and my TIDs are with 500 delay but i just can’t get it 😭

It took me several hours, but it works!
Same for me, got the right ID 3 times but failed the walking part, but on the 4th try it worked.
Daniël de Vries made the mistake of wasting a couple hours after I saved with the right ID and attempted the walking part many times. Confused on why I never hit the frame, I soon realized that I had to start each attempt from a brand new file.
Idk how I can do this on pc w emulator I’ve set the time to 11:16 and somehow within like 15-20 seconds it turns to 11:17 throwing everything off even when set back to 11:15 to try and compensate still completely off

On the EonTimer, make sure you are changing the timer in Preferences to DSI

Basicly, the cute charm glitch works because of the ability Cute Charm. In gen4 Cute Charm has a really high % of forcing the random wild pokemon to become the opposite gender of your pokemon with the ability. Without going too much into details, basicly there are 4 groups that the natures are devided into and one of the groups can be all shiny. So when your pokemon forces out an opposite gender, with nature in the specific group, it will always be shiny. But just remember to have the cute charm pokemon as the first one in your party and if you have any other questions they are probably all answered in Blizzy's first video about Cute Charm glitch.

Unfortunately I don’t have a normal ds to try this on so I was wondering how different it actually is and since I don’t currently have access to my computer how difficult it is to try and sync it up to your video is?

Is there a way to get a seed where you have 20-30 seconds more time in the intro? I managed to pull it off on my SoulSilver Copy but on platinum I can‘t get fast enough through the intro. When I arrive at the TV screen i mostly only have 6-8 seconds left and when pressing A it does not react at all.

I waited the 70 days for riolu to appear in the safari zone in soul silver. I hit some kind of glitch in the cute charm glitch cuz the shinies stopped appearing. I did 100 encounters resulting in 0 shinies. And I tried it in 4 different areas. After turning the game off and back on it started working again. Very strange though that the glitch can just deactivate.
Hey, great vid! Im planning to do this soon. But as a precaution, f i successfully got the right TID/SID but I messed up the shiny starter path, would I have to restart and create a new game? Or can I save inside my moms house and keep trying from there?

No saving ruins the path for shiny
Save when you hit your ID and if you screw up just do a normal RNG in front of the bag or wait until you can breed
Hi! Love your videos, just subscribed! I have a question, for doing a shiny starter in Platinum and abusing ID/SID, I have been reading the Smogon guides that use RNG Reporter. Is it alright to use the newest version of that program instead of the one you're using? I'm more familiar with it but am unsure if this one is better

Tried for a few days, I keep getting just a few frames away but am just exhausted from attempting it. Wht are you looking for to speed up the button press at the briefcase? Or am I messing up in the text just before that because i don't press a to move the grown up text box. Pressing down there seems to move the text along but takes a long time to move. Is that where I'm causing problems? Because I've hit Sassy a few times

Trying to do while giving Dawn a name, i make it fast enough to see the tv screen but when i time my A press to eontimer i'm still stuck at the tv screen for a second or two before the next a press closes it, doing this on a 3ds, should i give up on giving Dawn a name and settle for a random one?
