FYI: Depending on the Firestick and Update version you have, this method of remapping buttons may no longer work. I am seeing mixed results from people in the comments and who have contacted me via email.

It is always amazing how many UA-camrs "write off" from each other, but each advertise for a different VPN provider.
I think it's missing a step. I was having trouble with getting this to work as well. I tried restarting the firestick, still no change. Then I enabled "Home Button Hook" then it opened to another screen that gave me the option to check the box to allow "Launch Manager" to activate the "Home Button Hook". After you allow turn back off the "Home Button Hook" to "Inactive" click the home button on your remote & try the buttons again, they should be working at this point. Hope it works for yall. That fixed it but only for one use. ?? The buttons are back to default even though Launcher Manager says otherwise.
For me to work after this tip, is that I have to click the same button twice.

It worked for a while now my remote doesn't do anything anymore.. lost connection and can't pair it:( tried some new batteries and restarted the whole tv stick nothing works.....had it once before but don't know how it ended up working again
Tried this new one, when I press the remapped buttons I'm asked to install the original apps at least with your previous video "FIXED" when I pressed the remapped buttons while watching standard TV it brought up the Firestick homepage.

@@blackcatusa7946 not when I watched the video last. My buttons got reset to stock like the next day so I haven't gone back and done anything yet. If they don't stay, I didn't want to have to reprogram them every day.
Why am I unable to add some apps like Crunchyroll to the shortcut buttons? Any tips?
(When I say it opens DirectTV or Peacock, I mean the page where you can download it. I don’t have either installed.)
After setting buttons 3 and 4 to new apps, it only works once and then reverts back to the “factory assigned” apps. The default apps for buttons 3 and 4 are DIRECTV and Peacock respectively. Using Launcher Manager, I set them to UA-cam and Twitch. I then hit the home key and then pressed button 3 for UA-cam. UA-cam opened. When I hit button 4 it opened Peacock instead of Twitch. I pressed button 3 again and it went to DIRECTV this time. I opened Launcher Manager again and verified UA-cam and Twitch were still selected but the buttons open DirectTV and Peacock. I then changed button 3 and 4 to other apps. Clicked on the home button and then selected button 4. It opened the newly assigned app. Like before, the next time I chose either 3 or 4 it went back to opening DirectTV or Peacock. Do you know why it would be going back to default after one use?
Update: If I toggle Home Button Hook on and then off again, the buttons will work again, but just once, and the it goes back to defaults.
Click on button 3 and it should go to DirectTV. Click on button 3 again and it will go to your assigned app - UA-cam. You need to click on the button twice to get to your assigned app (pause between clicks).
I tried 3 times, and the change only lasted for the first try. Then, it returned to the original mapping. ?? Any suggestions are appreciated.
Funcionando Perfect no fire stick 4k max. Hoje infelizmente sumiu o aplicativo, mas conseguir desinstalar pelo Explorer, estava nos aplicativos, mas não abria, ai desinstalei. Só funciona por 24 horas, ai tem que instalar de novo, é uma pena não funcionar normalmente.
Not working for me, set it up just like the video but Disney and Hulu keeps redirecting me to download Disney or Hulu because i own it. Any advice? I have the 4k Max.

Great tutorial. I am unable to find the App MVS (Midwest Video Services) among the installed apps listed. I do have the MVS lap installed because I use it every day. It is an app I use to get the equivalent of cable tv but over streaming. Can you help me MVS so I can dedicate button 3 to open it.

TV quick actions deserve a vid from you it is a ultimate remapper for a tv cuz it was fully TV made button mapper was made for a phone but ppl use it on a tv more than a phone

@@CordCuttersLI it is Like if god created a Remapper it can do things you will never Expect from a remapper kind of app they has put much effort in their app it downloads on a fire stick but a fire stick is bad for it just Like you never see ppl using it on a fire stick cuz it doesn't work but you can still install it but I know it wouldn't work it will on a tv box however or a tv with Android built in

Great Video but maybe you could add the Launcher instructions at the beginning of the video. If I hadn't of read some of the comments and one person mentioning that I would never have gone to the end of the video. You say in the video, before I show you how to install the launcher, lets look at the launcher. Which was confusing for me. But otherwise I could follow it all. I just needed the launcher first. Oh and MAX (nor HBO) was on the remap list unfortunately.
The apk doesn’t seem to install for me. It downloads successfully and allows me to click install, but then it just takes me back to your website page with popup to install again. I can’t get past this step. Using a fire stick 4k max.
Doesn't seem to be working for me. I downloaded the new application, deleted the installation file, but when I went to my apps it didn't show up. No blue gear icon sadly...
Did everything except the launch manager had a July date. It tried to block it at first so I reinstalled and clicked open after install. Did as instructed, but it does not reset the buttons. Looks like it must have been disabled again.
May not be worth the cat and mouse.
My issue is that since HBO rebranded, the HBO button is failing. It needs to be associated with the rebranded app.
I couldn't find HBO or MAX on the remap list at all.
My stock HBO button launches MAX (without any modification). And my remote is about 4 years old.
Any way to map this to a button on the remote, rather than an app. For instance I want to map this to the "Blue Color" button. Appreciate any help in this matter.
If you're referring to the blue Alexa voice button, no. That button cannot be remapped.

The firestick manager isn't available on the new firestick
I changed the bottom two buttons, and after a cache clear of Launch Manager I got the bottom right working, the bottom left still connects to the original app. My device is a Firetvstick 4K MAX (next-gen Wi-Fi 6), Any tips?
If I map Paramount+ to a button, the original app opens, I can however map other apps to the same buttons successfully. Very odd.

Fire TV will not allow me to install Launcher Manager. It pops up briefly, then disappears. It is not in my app library. I tried it your way and using another youtube video.
@@mrbuckyford unfortunately this is an older video that will still work, but only if you disabled updates on your firestick a few months ago. Amazon pushed an update that now prevents AdB debugging from working. One more reason why so many people are running away from Firesticks in favor of Android and Google TV devices. 🤷♂️
I have an Insignia Fire TV with an Insignia Fire remote with the same 4 useless buttons at the bottom, but there is no "My Fire TV" tile in the settings. I clicked on every tile and there is no "Developer Options" in any of the menus. Is there another way to remap the remote?
Go to 'Device and Software' then click 'About' a bunch of times... it will show up under 'About' after that.

Launch Manager keeps getting uninstalled within an hour or two of installation. (4k Max stick). Too bad Amazon hates their customers.

Couldn't get it to work for me. Just tried 3 times. Toggle didn't matter either
So 6 months ago got insignia fire tv…. Nothing but trouble I am switching to Roku tv…. Issues 1. Random restarts. 2 it forgets favorite channels. 3 it forgets antenna input looses all channels and cannot even select antenna as input until factory reset 4 always notication message 75% time music. 25% time cannot see ext usb drive every 30 days cannot find remote.
It sounds like you got a lemon. If it were me, I'd return the TV (if it's not too late). I have a lot of friends who love their Insignia Fire TVs. (disclaimer, I don't have one. Personally I prefer to buy a a good TV and use an external Streaming Device because I'll have the TV a lot longer than the Streamer. )
Tried this today (10/08/2023) and it no longer works.

Amazon is really fighting this app. I tried this morning and got the same thing. However, I did find Launcher Manager in my "Manage Installed Apps" in Settings and ran it from there. Still works, although it is combersome. I'll looking into this.
How about just taking the remote apart the blocking of the keys with tape

😢 It does Not work now. Developer loaded & 3rd party allowed. Launcher loaded & each step completed. Buttons reassigned (per directions) and failed testing. Slowly Rechecked each entry 😢 with Instructionsal video - However, Buttons took to Original sites - not newly assigned 😪😔

Hmm, that doesn't seem to make sense.
I wonder if there's something wrong with either your Device or Remote.
So, can you use the device at all now? Have you tried pairing another remote, or using the FireTV app on your Phone to navigate the FireTV Interface?
If so, you could try removing the existing remote in settings and try adding it back.
Also could do a factory reset of the device.
Let me know how this turns out.
@@CordCuttersLI heyy have done all possible things but nothing worked..i just simply used my tv remote to navigate..put out the batteries out of the fire remote for a few days and now was able to reconnect it👍🏻 so everythings fine

It's at 6:44. I do it in this order so you can see if you want it, then I show you how to get it. I used to do it the other way around, but then I had people asking why I'm showing how to install something they don't even know if they want. 🤷♂️

Doesn't work. Now that part I understand, that's Amazon's fault. The problem I do have is that you put the install at the end of the video instead of the beginning so I had to watch quite a bit of the video trying to figure out how I was supposed to get the app, because I missed you saying that you would explain it all first. But even if I hadn't, I would have to go to the end of the video, install it, and then go back to the beginning so I could follow it step by step. On top of that you were very pushy and rambling with wanting us to like, follow, etc. If you're good enough it's not necessary to be that pushy. Not impressed.
If you want to talk to an Amazon employee, just rate the stick/remote one star.
I did so unknowingly, and received a call 10 minutes later from Amazon suspecting technical issues and wanting to help out. Morons.
