Remapping buttons, like mapping the UA-cam button to Smart UA-cam TV or mapping the Google Play Movies button to the standard Google Play store is very convenient.

This works on the Chromecast with Google TV. I set the Netflix button to double click to go to TV Player app.

This method works great with the new Walmart Onn 4K streaming box. I was able to change the Disney+ and Paramount+ buttons to Hulu and Prime Video

I remapped the Netflix button on my shield to a long press as I kept catching it and opening Netflix and it was really starting to piss me off.

Tried this on my Mit TV Stick 4K and do not work...
When I press Netflix or Prime Video button it just oppens the app and can't remap it :(

The TV button on my TCL C725 can’t be remapped. It just doesn’t respond whenever I click it in +Add Buttons. Any workaround for this? Thank you.
I have a T9 android tv box and for some reason the remote does pull down on certain apps or go side to side can remapping help this

I accidentally assigned my center button single press to a web browser. Now when I attempt to navigate to fix the issue, of course the assigned web browser intercepts my attempts to navigate. How do I reset the remote back to factory settings without a working center button which is necessary to navigate? I tried the batter removal method. Nothing seems to work.
You cannot get button mapper for Toshiba fire TV. You also cannot change developer options to allow apps from unknown sources.
I can't find a remapping app that will let me change the channel up/down button on the Walmart onn Google TV box to fast fwd/rewind. I've tried this app, Button Remapper, and TV Quick Actions. So unless I'm just too dumb to figure out how to do it, then none of these apps have that option.
can you remap to a cable tv station - such as Netflix goes to CNN or a specific channel on another input?

Have you tried to remap a button to bring up recents to 'close all' to help device not work so hard instead of forcr closing as i dont like to. No matter what i do with button mapper anytime i choose recents it will not work? Have a cracka mate, brilliant vid once again!

Everything works fine except for the fact , the moment I enable I the button mapper, the volume long press buttons doesn't work.
As in long press volume + button doesn't increase the volume in 1 go and have to single tap again and again.
For example to set a volume from 1 to 5 , I have to tap 5 times and long press doesn't respond in increasing from volume 1 to 5

I have this issue with mecool, the live tv button is launching twitch app only and besides, when I try to wireless project (mirror) my cellphone is not finding the mecool.

when trying to install button remapper on Firestick4kMax, it asks you to go into accessibility to turn on/enable Button Mapper, however even though Button Mapper is shown on my app it is not shown in accessibility.. any workaround?

I have my Power button set to shut off TV as well as my Mecool km2. Is there a way to have the power button remapped to default? The default was to shut off Mecool only! Thank you!
Or you can get FLIRC and make any remote do whatever you want.

Of course on Smart TVs the app Button Mapper does not work, instead just it locks you into a endless loop repeatedly telling you to enable it in Accessibility Settings; the only way out of the loop is to uninstall Button mapper. So if you want to convert your TV into a house brick, install Button Mapper.
I thought that too but the menu which you need to fit is hidden behind the android settings , in there you will find the device settings, in there you will find the menu you look for.
The last entry at the bottom is than button mapper
After activating you can use the app

Hold down the home and back buttons at the same time to trigger the pairing process, and then you can pair through your device’s Bluetooth menu using either your current remote or Google’s phone-based remote app.

I want to get a job cleaning mirrors.
Its something I can really see myself doing.
Once I open boot Mapper on my firestick 4K Max, it comes up with the box to allow accessibility services and when I click Ok, it does not go to settings of boot mapper but just goes back to home screen. In your video, after you press OK, a menu appears on the right for boot Mapper settings. This menu does not appear once I press OK - just goes back to the Amazon launcher. Kindly advise
So from your Home screen go to Accessibility, scroll down to find Button Mapper and allow

@@FreeTech hi pal would say get the mecool km2 or 4k fire stick I do boxes sticks android TVs etc only for friends family and I don't charge them a penny I used to build them personal kodi builds but that's to much hard work now days but I respect your opinion and you've used both I haven't but I've android TV for myself

The UA-cam button shows F1, the Google play F3. The Netflix button is not registered in the mapping app? Any ideas?
It works opening Netflix. Then it stopped as I disabled the Netflix app.... But I simply want to remap it...

It won't remap Dynalink buttons. The 3 at the bottom keep going to Netflix, UA-cam and the play store... The others can be remapped but they are needed. Ex volume, home, and up down arrows 😞
Edited... You can add 2 app to the home button.
Only problem with this is remembering what you remapped the button to.
I wish I could do this on fire stick 😔
