Again, thank you. Being conversational in Spanish was my New Year's resolution in 2022 and I was on a 322 day Duolingo streak until I had a big loss in my life. I lost the desire but things are changing and now I have learning Spanish as #1 on my Bucket List. This time, however, I'm going to try Pimsleur. I was able to get Level 1 free through my local library but that's it. I'm ready to commit and I agree with you, that Pimsleur may be the best....at least for me. Thanks
Could you do a video on which two apps complement each other best? It seems like each of the apps you review have blind/weak spots. It would be nice to know which ones fill in each others gaps the best.
Not sure if Test Prep Insight updated for you or if you saw one of the videos that showed complementing platforms, but John suggested Pimsleur for listening and in depth lessons and Babbel for bite size, quick lessons (I’ve been watching a bunch of reviews and found that helpful… I don’t remember when it was posted).
This is very helpful. Want to learn Italian. Started with Duolingo but soon learned of their data policy and breach issue. Just started looking for another app to use
This was very helpful. I need to learn Indonesian, Armenian, Tagalog, and Chinese... Heck, and brush up on my Spanish and Vietnamese. Pimsleur seems to be the way, but I wish they had a lifetime option available.
Great video! Although I am focusing on studying for the MCAT right now, I would love to learn Spanish at some point. I think it is a beautiful language : )
I am trying to learn Spanish right now because the language my family and I speak has a very similar grammatical structure and learning Spanish is an extremely useful tool seeing as many people speak it.
I told Mondly that although I signed up for advanced material but keep getting basic, they suggested I pair there course with reading actual books (which I already do). Their whole advanced course in Spanish has the exact material as the basic. It's really difficult to find apps that actually focus on people with an intermediate level of training.
Decided I wanted to improve myself by learning a second language. Wasn't really sure what to choose to learn a language but found your videos and have been watching to figure out which would be the best choice to go for. Great videos still haven't chosen yet mainly because Im stuck between Rosetta Stone and Babble. I know Babbles better but it also cost more for a lifetime subscrioption and it doesn't have Japanese which is one of the languages I was thinking about learning. Either way I go great video thanks for the help!
I am a scuba diver and a lot of places I go are in Spanish speaking countries. I wake to be able to communicate in their language rather than expect everyone to speak English. Thanks for the review
Why are you learning a new language ? Learning for me is fun and what better thing to learn than a new language. You will fine so many new things you didn’t know before.
John, thanks for another great comparison. I’m looking to make a decision on a Spanish package (or two?) next month for communicating better with those I volunteer to serve. Ditto on AzureBlueStarr33’s question below.

Absolutely! So important
I had not heard of Pimsleur or Mondly until I found your videos. So helpful! Thanks!
Thank you! I was having such a hard time deciding between these two. Appreciate the video- extremely helpful!
I’m learning Swahili to connect with East African immigrants and refugees in the states, while also using it in overseas mission trips!
Very cool!!

Sorry to hear about the loss, but glad you found renewed interest in Spanish :) Good luck!
I have a 640 day streak in Duolingo but I don't feel like I can carry on a conversation. Looking for a better way to become conversational.
Just started Pimsleur Spanish and so far so good!
That's cool, glad to hear it :)

Whoa that's a lot of languages - nice! Btw, Pimsleur does have a lifetime option - it's just pricey (around $475 last I checked)

Nice review
I love and use both Mondly and Pimsleur. I also use Mango, Ling, and Lingodeer. All are great.
Wow, that's a hefty stack of apps!!

Great review, Pimsleur sounds awesome!
Thanks!
Best app for Greek? Ideally native speakers and not generated?

Cool! Thanks for watching :)

Totally agree! Thanks for watching :)
I keep hearing Pimsleur has a lifetime subscription but don’t see it anywhere
It is long marathon. It is similar to real life itself and it feels good when you start to understand things and it is actually achievable.
Agreed!!

We've started that video :)
