This came out five years ago. Since then, a documentary about people suffering from brain health and/or emotional issues called “Medicating Normal” has been released. Tragically, it seems many/most sufferers are still not getting the real help they need.

There are two doctors who use carnivore (or modified carnivore) for their patients, Dr. Georgia Ede, and Dr. Chris Palmer. They’re easy to find on YT or books.

    I don't get it.
All essential amino acids are in eggs, dairy, fish and ruminants.
All that is needed for growth and repair.
Doesn't that imply that the species appropriate diet for humans is carnivory?
Why screw around with isolated amino acid bandaids?

I’m not having mental health issues but issues with the eyes/brain I guess. I can’t read or watch tv without ending in pain and seizure like episodes. I react to certain foods, herbs and vitamins. Eye specialist, doctors and neurologist say I’m fine. Have you ever heard of this type of situation? I can’t find anyone with similar problems, it’s frustrating. Why can’t I read or watch tv if my eyes are healthy?

My two cents is (in case you haven't already come to the same conclusion) that doctors don't know what they don't know and, based in my experience, most are too arrogant to know that. I have a condition that isn't like yours, but I have been told some crazy stuff by doctors. So I say don't give up looking for a solution.
I have no idea if it will help you, but I will offer a thought. About 10 years ago, I was listening to Trudy Scott's videos in YT and heard her list some amino acids and say she often just tries them out on people and sonetimes they have an immediate and astonishing effect, so I took a GABA pill and in about 20 minutes the hip pain that I had had for a long time and had seen some orthopedic specialists about (injected saline didn't help) went away and hasn't been a problem since. So, you may want to try the ones listed here, one at a time.
I hope you'll find your answer very soon!

Can you take L-tryptophan with antidepressants what antidepressant

    • @academyforaddictionmentalh135
      @academyforaddictionmentalh135  3 роки тому +1

You cannot take a serotonin precursor such as Tryptophan or 5htp if you are on more than one SSRI or a serotonergic migraine med. If you are on just one SSRI, you can carefully take a low dose precursor at least 6 hours away from the med to avoid the possibility of serotonin syndrome. There are different classes of antidepressants and it is crucial to know how your anti-depressant works, before using certain amino acids. For more information or coaching on this, please call Christina at 303-888-9617, or go to www.aminoacidtherapy.com to find a certified coach.

Hemp protein powder is good. Has a complete amino acid profile. After a week or so when first taking this my stress level went down. Can be found at natural food store or easily online (doesn’t have thc in it).
Also, lions mane mushroom powder (fruiting body) has a lot of research about neurological/brain support. Wheatgrass and/or barley juice grass powder, grown in Utah is best. I’d add that wheatgrass has no gluten in it (harvested too young to get to gluten stage) I take all these due to chronic pain. The addition of NAC and cysteine was a real game changer with some cognitive issues I’ve had/have also. Gradually getting better. I take the NAC/cysteine in morn on empty stomach. Then in the afternoon I mix hemp, lions mane, turkey tail mushroom powders with wheatgrass and rotate the wheatgrass with barley grass every other day. I use a little cappuccino frothier to mix.
So an FYI here so you can do research on these and decide if any are right for you. What I like is that these (except for the NAC and cysteine) are food based, and with nutrients beyond or besides one form like amino acids, which I think are important to brain health also.
All in all my mood is so changed and am more productive. Good energy, but mellow not stressful high energy if that makes sense. I feel I’m even getting back a part of me I missed for quite awhile. Hope any of this helps, and well wishes to you!

My concern with ideas like this is its seen as the magic pill. Its like when people say 12 step is the only answer, or Naltrexone is the only answer, or religion is the only answer. Recovery from addiction requires different things for different people. This one size fits all thing is a little strange to me. Speak to the addicted person and develop a plan specifically for them. Whether you are addicted or not diet and exercise is a given.
Are there any double blind controlled trials for amino acid therapy?

    • @choo1me477

This is not just a diet, it is utilizing concentrated essential food as a way to balance the unstable brain vrs using meds, drugs, cigs, etc vices. This should be a mandatory therapy in psychological remediation and maintenance. And it is not just a narrow venue as it also works with standard psyche therapy which is to essentially stop the depletion of neurotransmitters... In the end, the goal is to make happy brains=happy lives. Thank you Christina for your efforts in getting people happy.

Btw, double blinded controlled trials are meant for items yet known to work with proven results. As said, the usage of amino acids have been around since the 50's. It works. But like with everything there's too many variables to make it a cookie cut remedy.
