I was a naysayer at first because I wanted these to match up better with the Action Fleet line.
But the more I see these the more I am totally blown away at how impressive this line is.
I totally agree with you! I think I flipped the switch when I got the xwing and tie and was comparing them to each other and was like wait man, this isn’t action fleet. Once I did that I really started to like this line!
@@kmtanner04 What sold me on the line was the series Jedi Starfighter. Finally an action fleet scaled Delta 7.
Great looking ship! Looks like there’s a lot of details! The weathering looks great! Definitely want to pick this up when I see it!
I feel like they really went overboard with the wash. I actually took most of it off with rubbing alcohol and cotton balls. Looks much better and much more subtle not like it was “slathered” on by a novice modeler. My biggest gripes with this is that it doesn’t have duel gunner turrets which they could have easily done both chairs in the cylander, the landing ramp tabs can break off easily, and that Luke Skywalker should have been included. I’m sure he will be included with the Landspeeder but it would have made sense to include him with the Falcon even if it was a gunner variant with headset.
Great review Kevin, love the hyperdrive fail sound. I've held off on getting the Falcon for a long time now, might have to get one someday.
The Jazwares Falcon is a solid display piece. My only true gripe is the decision to have the landing gear fold out sideways without a mechanism to lock them in place. Just touch the Falcon slightly causes one set to fall back in on itself. Otherwise, the overall detail and look is great.
Everyone is complaining about the wash in all the videos. It's good, brings out details and looks aged and battle damaged which the Falcon is.
Should be complaining about the micro figures not having as good articulation as the buzz Lightyear figures which are cheaper.
Totally cool review of the micro fleet M.F. Ty for sharing I just ordered my copy today from Amazon.
Awesome! Glad to hear and glad you were able to get one. It’s a really cool ship and has lots of great features.
I love actual measurements, thank you!!! subscribed
Glad it was helpful! Thanks for subscribing!!
Great review.. 🙂 As of now, it's only around 31 GBP... Good value.
For sure! Patience is definitely paying off to fleet build!
Looks great. Will paint more details when I get mine.
You should post any custom work you do on one of the Facebook fan pages. I would love to see what you do.
The Falcon is a hasty design, which they later wanted to fix, but doing it right would change its shape. That is why it is uninhabitable. And mainly for Chewbacca who is over 2 meters tall. The outer and inner scales of the Falcon do not match. This is a design issue that began with the first movie in 1977. Toy manufacturers do what they can.
I hope they include a Lando Calrissian Millennium Falcon
That would be awesome! I agree with you.
Amazing review, hope mine ships soon. I do have one question how strong do those tabs that lock the hull piece in look. I'm a little worried opening and closing it those will snap..
They don’t seem like they will snap but you kind of need to bend the top slightly when you lift it up. The tabs on the little ramp will definitely break it you aren’t careful.
@@kmtanner04 good to know about both I'll definitely be careful
Great review ☺
Thanks!
I got mine today, and I'm disappointed with the quality. I have a huge gap in the back (above the lights), which I noticed on other videos too, and also one of the lading gears sides, doesn't block in position, there's almost no resistance, so as soon I try to place the ship down, one side of landing gears just folds, very annoying. And the gap in the back is huge, like 0.5cm. I didn't expect the ship to be so small tbh, it looks tiny compared to the old Micro Machines Falcon Playset, which is much closer to the Acton Fleet/Galaxy Squadron X-wing scale. Also, the turret guns are a joke. Just wanted to point it out.
I'm trying to comfort myself looking at all these details, but man, I dunno. I was so hyped for this ship, but I feel a letdown right now.
If your having a problem with the back hatch my recommendation would be to return it and get another one. I have heard this from some people and they have better luck with another one. The landing gear I have also heard is a bit of a mixed bag some work fine (mine included), some have the problem you described. Not sure what the deal is but the big box stores are pretty good with returns and Jazwares customer service is fantastic. You can always reach out to them.
@@kmtanner04 Sure thing, thanks for the info. I know I'm a picky type, but hey, 44 GBP so you have to demand the quality. That ship ain't cheap :)
The second model is coming soon, but I will probably keep it in the box, I have to say Galaxy Squadron looks awesome on the shelf in the box.
@@IamMarian agreed! The packaging is really well done.
This is very impressive, but it's so close that for me I find myself quibbling. I wish the top gun was bigger and slotted into the middle of the clear plastic. I wish the central turret had a removable gun on the bottom and was double-ended so you could fit two figures. I wish the removable top included the corridor to the cockpit. And finally - as someone who never cared as a child for lights and sounds (and still doesn't), I wish they'd saved the money on that and used the space to increase the play area inside for things like Luke's training or the medical bay. I also wish the landing gear and ramp were a little lower so the ship sat a little higher. These are minor quibbles - this is still a good ship especially for a kid who's never had a Falcon. But for me, the Kenner Micro one still wins as the best small-scale Falcon, even though with just the few tweaks above this one would have won it...
The action fleet Chewbacca is way better looking, and him being slightly larger works fine with the scale of this line and he fits in the Falcon's cockpit no problem if you cut the piece that connects his feet. Also, the R2D2 from my old action fleet X-wing is slightly smaller than the one that came with my micro galaxy X-wing, and it also has a much better paint job. The action fleet R2D2 will fit right into the micro-galaxy X-wing.
Agreed on all of the above! The details on the figures of Action Fleet is impressive.
Hoping they do a star destroyer
It would be EPIC!!!
What did you use for the wash?
It comes with the wash on it.
*MILLENNIUM.
Good catch! Thanks :)
The proportions are way off almost all over that Falcon. Looks bad.
This is really the only ship of this line I'm not a fan of. Turret window is oversized, cockpit is too snubbed, and, personally, it's a bit bigger than the size I like to collect.
